Love would be a very crucial factor in Inside Out 3, as it focuses on not just romance, but being with family and friends. It would be awesome to see Love comforting Anger and Sadness too whether they’re having an argument or crying about something. And you know what? Depression is a condition, not an emotion, and it's strongly hinted that the core emotions encompass more emotions than just their names. Joy would include Love (receiving joy from an outside source such as family) and Hope (optimism for the future), Sadness also being Empathy was arguably the turning point of the first movie, and Disgust became Sarcasm when she tried to imitate Joy.
Love the idea of these emotions. I would only add one extra and change one that you have mentioned slightly. If we have Love then you know we need Hate. Who could be the twin sister of Love. This can cause a small sibling relationship where sometimes Hate helps her against negative experiences, but can also be problematic for the other emotions if used too much. And has to work with other emotions so much like Anxiety, it doesn’t become too much of a negative impact and have Riley consumed by it. Now while technically Depression is more of a mental condition than an emotion, it could be some form of force that has to be managed by the other emotions. Particularly it could be something with a Jekyll and Hyde persona, where if managed right it can help Riley with more complexed situations, but if used wrong can only damage Riley. This can also be more of a drive for the other emotions to work together as equals as lots of factors of various emotions can trigger depression. I never personally really saw the benefits of depression as I only got better from my own depression by fighting it, I think Depression as this dark negative force could be like the big threat to Riley and her mind. But that’s just me anyway.
