  • Introducing the WFS and WCS services and their operations
The OGC Web Feature Service (WFS) is an internet-based protocol that enables retrieval, query, and manipulation of geographic features. It supports common data types like text strings, date and time. WFS clients can access data from multiple WFS servers, render it, or use it in a workflow. The standard allows users to access data from different sources in a consistent way, making it easier to build applications. The Web Coverage Service (WCS) is an OGC standard which enables users to access geospatial coverages from multiple servers over a network. It is useful for publishing satellite imagery, meteorological forecasts and other raster data in an efficient and easy way. In this session, we will get to know in detail the WFS and WCS services and its operations.
