      also when sue used the activator, she begged for the substance to give her a “better version of myself” which i think made the ending a bit more of a tragedy than it already is…. people see her as a disgusting monster but ultimately it was also that form that elisabeth/sue truly seemed to have accepted herself :(

    the excessive ass shots are part of the satire of the movie lol everytime the director shows excessive shots of sues body its meant to represent that internal male gaze that elisabeth has on herself, needing to achieve the "perfect" body by male/hollywood standards

    I LOVE that you guys react, but it's not just the reaction of the movie, it's also getting the message besides the story. A lot of reactors just say "oh that was a weird movie so crazy lol what did I just watch" and nothing more, like being weird is the only thing that the movie had to offer. You are not like that and i'm glad that you did not disappoint

      I dunno, I'm a dude and definitely had more of the woman's reaction to this entire movie. But I have a sister who I relate to very strongly...so the concept of poor body image brought upon by societal standards is something I'm very much aware of.

    I love how the women (idk your name is i’m sorry 😣) is sad and stressed the whole movie and the guy just laugh about it. I’m a guy who suffers from body image issues, and I can’t help but cry when I watch the movie. It hits to close to home. And honestly, I’m not on the level of desperation as elisabeth, but I am scared that I will someday. And that is just hard to see depicted in front of me.

    I think you guys are too harsh on her old self calling her witch abd all, I get it it was a joke but the movies point is literally this that everytime Sue uses more Time elisabeth ages more rapidly, she wasn’t a witch or looked bad it’s just what really old age look like I have seen people who looks like that. I’m not talking about monstro elisasue by the way I’m just talking About the first two parts Elizabeth and Sue.
    Substances horror is literally just aging ( and body dysmorphia) people hate aging it’s their nightmare and substance only show you that, even I actually cried when Sue started to beat elisabeth it was just emotional.

    My favorite take away from this movie is how our younger selves are not very nice to our older selves. We constantly do things that will impact our future (not working out enough, smoking , drinking, etc) but it doesn’t matter right now so we brush it off.

    I went into this movie blind and I was absolutely blown away. The body horror had me so disgusted and the moment Sue was disrespecting the boundary for months I was so scared what Demi Moore’s character was gonna look like. Then that insane third act that I was living for every single moment of.

    Fire Department provided a fire hose to get that effect showing liters of blood spraying everywhere. Which was then edited to add the realism with practical effects and animatronics.

    I have seen men saying that the movie is exagerated. I have had men tell me to "smile" within an hour of my father passing away. I remember it like yesterday.
    I went home with the bus from the HOSPITAL. The bus driver picks me up at a HOSPITAL and still says "You would be more beautiful if you smiled".
    I told him that my dad just passed away and then he apologized. What the hell man.
