the fact that everything happens in the bathroom, being the place where you expose yourself the most and hiding the bodies there as if it were something shameful, is an incredible metaphor.
in addition- the white tiles and hospital like feeling of the bathroom makes us feel like we are examining ourselves just like she is, picking up every flaw
also when sue used the activator, she begged for the substance to give her a “better version of myself” which i think made the ending a bit more of a tragedy than it already is…. people see her as a disgusting monster but ultimately it was also that form that elisabeth/sue truly seemed to have accepted herself :(
@@Goblin_Hunter87 of course it's sad, but it's also very intentionally funny? it can be both at the same time. how can you not laugh at the over-the-top smash zoom audience reactions and the absurd blood spraying
the excessive ass shots are part of the satire of the movie lol everytime the director shows excessive shots of sues body its meant to represent that internal male gaze that elisabeth has on herself, needing to achieve the "perfect" body by male/hollywood standards
Yeah, but not in a sexy way either, at least not imo. I'm a dude and never once was I like "oh damn this movie was so hot" because it's always done with this angle of being gratuitous and gross in a way.
I LOVE that you guys react, but it's not just the reaction of the movie, it's also getting the message besides the story. A lot of reactors just say "oh that was a weird movie so crazy lol what did I just watch" and nothing more, like being weird is the only thing that the movie had to offer. You are not like that and i'm glad that you did not disappoint
That’s the craziest thing, I instantly noticed when I watched on theaters I was like “Wait why he acts like??…….. Ohhhhh 😮” hahaha 😂 I was speechless 😶
This movie was very much like “I feel subtly about how bad beauty standards and societal pressures are for women has gone over people’s heads, so IS THIS CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU?!” and I LOVE that.
Ngl, this reaction is a pretty good indication how men and women react differently to this movie. Bro was, laughing, shocked giving oh no's. Where the women whole time just looked horrified from start to finish. Sorry I don't know your guys names but I really enjoyed your reactions to this film
I dunno, I'm a dude and definitely had more of the woman's reaction to this entire movie. But I have a sister who I relate to very strongly...so the concept of poor body image brought upon by societal standards is something I'm very much aware of.
I am a gay man, and while I did enjoy the moments of dark comedy, I too was horrified for the most part. Maybe because body image is a big thing in the gay male community too.
I love how the women (idk your name is i’m sorry 😣) is sad and stressed the whole movie and the guy just laugh about it. I’m a guy who suffers from body image issues, and I can’t help but cry when I watch the movie. It hits to close to home. And honestly, I’m not on the level of desperation as elisabeth, but I am scared that I will someday. And that is just hard to see depicted in front of me.
i love Margaret Qualley sooo much!! if u ever wanna watch something else shes been in, in your own time, I really recommend the show "maid"!! its sad but shes really good in it

this is a hard movie to watch specifically as a trans woman honestly. To know how this kinda self doubt does truly happen and eat away at even the prettiest of people
I love this movie so much. It's like someone sat down with the express intention of writing a screenplay even crazier than Malignant, and they were a huge Cronenberg/Carpenter fan. Also, fun fact: this was apparently based on Dorian Gray.
I went into this movie blind and I was absolutely blown away. The body horror had me so disgusted and the moment Sue was disrespecting the boundary for months I was so scared what Demi Moore’s character was gonna look like. Then that insane third act that I was living for every single moment of.

I’m watching you cringe at the back splitting, like “oh no, you’ve got a bigger storm coming.” 😂 One of my favorites this year, but I did pull my shirt up over my head a few times in the theater!

This was your funniest reaction. This movie was wild. The whole theater i saw it in was loud! The laughs, the sad scenes, the horror, gore, the butt close ups, lol it was a great film.
I loved the hell out of this movie! This might be my favorite Demi Moore performance. Her angst scenes and descent into total dysmorphia and decrepitness was pretty amazing. I need more from this writer/director.
I have seen men saying that the movie is exagerated. I have had men tell me to "smile" within an hour of my father passing away. I remember it like yesterday. I went home with the bus from the HOSPITAL. The bus driver picks me up at a HOSPITAL and still says "You would be more beautiful if you smiled". I told him that my dad just passed away and then he apologized. What the hell man.
Movie was phenomenal i can't complain at all yall should watch reanimator that was the node to reanimator the green injecting stuff also only movie I've seen that girl in is once upon a time in Hollywood she was the hippie girl in Brad Pitts car
Demi Moore did such an incredible job. I love her. I fell in love with her in Ghost. She's an incredible actress and she really did a phenomenal job in this. She's so gorgeous.❤
