I've got a 2007 honda trx420 rancher 2000+ hours and still going strong I basically grew up with it
I just bought a 2012 Rancher AT.....AND I LOVE IT!!!
How does the gps work ? Does it track you or show trails or just gives you compass info ?
Hondas will run forever
I know from experience that is a true statement.
Just sold my grandpas 1987 trx250 farm quad. All original motor. Still ran great when we sold it. Never buying anything else. 🤘
have one 11yrs now, great little bike
Dude this video made me understand everything about my 4 wheeler .and i love the video it explains everything
I just got one a couple months ago, and I love it!!!
See that four wheeler? Well guess what....
It’s still running today!
i like my foot shift 420 dont know wy everybodys goin automatic it takes some of the fun out of it
I have this very four wheeler and it works GREAT
on the left handle bar there are up and down arrows that are used to shift through the gears
man this dude is a belt cvt junkie. i hope honda never puts that unreliable crap in its bikes.
well for one i have kawasaki teryx and 3 snowmobiles all belt driven and never had problems with any of em and for two best atv on the market is belt driven (can am renegade and outlander) the belt wont fucking slip if it dont get wet and if u wanna avoid that just snorkel the belt it costs like nothing i hate honda its overrated
and if you dont pin the damn thing all the time the belt wont have any wear and yes its a bit of a power rob but hp means jack on trails you need torque for an atv not horsepower your not gunna go 60 mph on the trail are you cause youll die, and all more speed will do in mud is when ur stuck make you spin ur tires more ahha dumbass
Palmer Howe the reason people buy Honda atvs is to avoid high maintenance and unreliable junk cvt transmissions. i really enjoy dirt trax tv, but these guys review everything based how they perform in race style riding down dedicated trails. load the racks, drag a tree, or pull a trailer up and over things for a long distance like these atv's were meant to do and see what you like better.
all Honda's are utility atv's. only the Rincon is a sport ute. i have never felt under powered or not been able to whatever it was i needed to do with my 433cc 450 foreman. it is a year 2000 beat the hell out of ugly drowned yellow working mule that has been only seen the shop one time in its life. show me any Polaris, Yamaha, or Suzuki that old with only a $200 maintenance bill 14 years later.
+cjr4497 I have a Polaris sportsman 400 ho my friend has the irs version and I can out pull him by a lot
cjr4497 I hear these guys are sponsored by Polaris crap
Bought one two weeks ago, 2016 rancher 420 4x4 no eps but everything else.
Kind of wish i would have gone grizzly 708..
Im happy with the honda though, kids love it and its basically for them to have fun.
Honda’s rule they are the best. Atv built
Why don't these guys ever review the footshift models?
Seth Stough no one like em
Seth Stough i know right
My wallet likes them lol
P Smith831 The es comes with the screen but theres a better feeling of shifting.
I swear
i have a 2011 one it good will go thro any mud but iv had trouble with the auto gear change and it will only do 68 ks
I have one and it is the best tav i have ever driven
I have never gotten stuck and also never had to do any to it but change oil
Gear-on-gear - good reliable setup.
Travel when talked about in reference to a vehicle is how much the shocks can move up/down. In this ATV's case, both the front and rear shocks can travel 6.3 inches up/down. Generally more travel translates to greater ride comfort, because the shocks can better handle larger bumps while riding without bottoming out.
My fam got a couple ranchers dont now the year cause the previous owner didnt tell us but we took them to taylor park and they will climb just about anything
I love my 2013 Honda Rancher AT with Power Steering. I remember the first 100-150 miles the transmission couldn't find a gear or decide and so i rode in ESP all the time. Now I think the transmissions broken in and now I ride in Auto all the time. I only get in ESP if im going up a steep hill, mud, and some other stuff. I love also that I can tow a 1000 lbs. trailer easily with the low end torque of the 420 and the auto transmission adapts to the load. Ultimately, buy a Honda.
Can y'all do an review on a honda recon 250
belts and v twins are all some care about now. i still love the foot shift. if honda would make the foreman with irs it sell like mad. that is pretty much my dream bike. the less i have to worry about the better.
I freaking love my 2010 Rancher AT. Big Red all the way...
If I am going to put mud tires and maybe a small lift to do some creek riding is this a good atv?
Ayyy dis was on my bday
A lot of guys are puzzled by the foreman not having irs. They can't figure out why the rubicon doesn't have fuel injection either---only carb, but honda is slow to change. They have a great product and they stick with it. I love my 2010 rancher AT. All kinds of low end grunt and I can get about 53-55 mph out of it. Plenty fast for me. We plow snow with it in the winter time and it does great with a 60" moose plow on the front. Ride red all the way...
i like the push button shiffing. it still has power and easier to use for a little more money, its worth it!
I can see light coming though the plastic trim pieces . Kinda makes me wonder if the plastic is thin. And will break easy. Only complaint about this model. Honda vehicles last forever though. Been Honda owner for there cars since 2003.
are these shaft drivin because thats what i heard
Yamaha Grizzly 300 or Honda Fourtrax S 420
Which one?
Gear-on-gear - good, reliable setup. Like their cars, Honda ATVS will outlast almost anything.
Looking at a 2012 Rancher 4x4. After reading several reviews, I'm going w/ manual shift.
Just picked up a 250X two weeks ago but now I need something for the wife and something to pull me out the messes I get into :0
I just got the honda rancher 2013 but I can find any challanging trails
YEAH BUDDY!!!
With 4wd you'll get in less trouble to begin with.Honestly with my grizzly whenever I get it stuck in mud,i lock the diffs put it in reverse, get off the quad and work the throttle while lifting the rear and pushing the quad backwards. It works nearly all the time in some pretty nasty stuff. And besides, there's not always something to connect a winch cable to.
how do you use the esp and shift gears ?
Got the same one just got assassinators and a hmf on it
I like how it says 420 :D
Sorry if I'm dumb.... What the hell are travel numbers? What does it mean "Low travel numbers hurt ride quality"?
Is this atv still good? Found an amazing deal for it
Yes it is.
sick only quad i like :) im a 3 wheeler///dirtbike guy
i have a honda rancher 420cc 2007 model and its the best in my city :D
I have a 2008 Honda 420 with 12,000kms . The motor is very good, but wheel bearings back axle bearings in the rear don't last long. and swing arm bushes are weak too done them twice and this bike has been treated well. I am a farmer from New Zealand so yes it is a working bike. And at the moment the 420 is over heating and stalling after just being serviced at local Honda dealer!!!!
Does anyone know the wheel specs, I’d like new ones
How much they run for
Do only canadian models have the GPS? plus thats crazy gps on an atv
I believe the Inuit up in the high Artic use these atvs a lot summer and winter the gps. Would be very useful to them as the scenery looks all the same
i just got this one i just didnt pick it up yet
i have no prop. with my belt drive ( 400 griz ) going on 8 years of hard work ...and still pulling.....
when will Honda offer an ATV with a locker?
the only thing i dont like is that there is not eanuf power go for 600 cc or more but till then im good with my lil foreman 450cc
I wish I could have a rancher 420 I just wish
@cdawg4391
Yep---I like the gear tranny for heavy-duty work. CVT transmissions are popular, but I prefer Honda's setup for hard work.
I like shifting way better too.
These are good bikes, but I would Look for a used Honda Foreman 500 manual Shift.. I love them things
If u put the rancher in reverse , wile holding the brake down u can put a sip tie around the cable and u will never have to use it again
The Honda last 30000 miles still going
My 01 rancher 350 es finally broke after 7,000 miles. But it is only a gear by the shifting motor. Honda should not go with a cvt. I like the shifting tons better than a automatic
This a good review and four wheeler besides the tome it takes to reverse, that's y they should use some features from the brute force 720 Kawasaki made the best four wheeler, the Honda 700 is also the best fourwheeler Honda has made, it competes with the brute force alot on UA-cam.
I have a 05 rancher 350 and my uncle blew my motor, at around 10,000 miles at least. and just because he changed the oil and forgot to put oil back in.
I wish Honda would make them models again .
Dillon Foster They still make them with the same engine just different plastics and a few updates like suspension
Yea get a belt and let it slip all the time like Polaris and I hate automatics our 13 I ride it on trails and jump it and I'm very pleased with its performance
there the Best
there the beast
El Hombre Murciélago they're
There sure are
how can reverse be confusing?? i do it just fine.
Also I don't like the single swing arm suspension, but I see this new one is independent all round but I am buying a Suzuki 400 king quad the better suited for NZ farming ,the trouble with you yanks is you just play on them where as in NZ we use them for farm work day in day out ,so what might be good for play is crap for farming
You dont want a belt cvt it would slip so therefore chain is better i love my rancher and wouldnt give it up for anything
Kawasaki brute force 720 vs Honda 4x4 700 would be a good vid
It will got into reverse without pushing the button and pulling the brake
is it 4x4?
It comes with both a 4x4 and 4x2 model.
The power steering doesn't help much with crappy front wheel bearings.
my cuzens honda rancher 420 that is a 2010 modle has been blowing cv joints like nothing and has been in to alot of the shop alot it tore his hole sholder out of socket he could not even drive his truck for 6 weeks because of this quad. I will stick with my 850
does it have diff locks??
The older models have limited slip disks on the 4wd,But I keep hearing that if you squeeze the brake while in 4wd it will lock all four don't know if this is true but...I doubt it
+King Tragedy to be honest it does work lol I just bought one
same man lol i bought a 450 fourman worked like a charm
My friend has the Irs version of this and no if a tire is in the air that is the only tire that spins
Love the Honda quality ,wish it had a Polaris ride......:(
I jammed a stick in there, now i shift into reverse without having to push the button.
The footshifts are way better
kyle prichard yes I have one and love it
true
My dad won't get me one and I have a recon which I want to sell it to get a rancher
cvt and auto transmissions are lame in all 4 wheelers and side by sides they should all have a manual option like the race quads or just like the old rancher my buddy still has his 2004 rancher and uses it for plowing and pound on hard threw rivers and mud and that manual trany still holds up and every auto and cvt 4 wheelers i know dont just more to got wrong when you need it most just keep it simple gear on gear manual
Honda is the best
Can't beat a Honda for work/utility applications. I'd never want a CVT transmission over gear on gear for heavy loads or hauling. I'll stick with my 2010 rancher AT.
Why not show some utility work if that's it strength.
In other words what can it pull?
all these reviews talk crap about hondas revers switch........ if you cant handle pushing a button and pulling the brake you probly shouldnt be rideing a fourwheeler
Maybe not a great performer, but extreamly durable
i raced one of these with my 86 honda 250 fourtrax and it barley won
I would buy one of those honda 250 fourtrax in a heartbeat. rode one when i was younger, they haul butt for the size. 5 speed helped, but it was a spunky tough machine
I think a belt drive Honda atv would be bad. I like there philosophy if it ain't broke don't fix it.
David ThatAWSMKid fuck belt drive atv's they fucking break all the time. arctic cat every time you drive it you need a new belt lol fuck belt atv's
+Paul Tabet dude my dad has a 3-4 year old 900 rzr and just replaced the belt and he rides it like hell
Shockin Awesome im never gonna take the chance in the woods to have a belt bike. one little slip and ur screwed
+Paul Tabet the only way u are truly going to smoke a belt is if you are not spinning the wheels and u are just hammering it other than that u are fine
+Paul Tabet also the Yamaha yxz is a manual and they break down everywhere
thats the thing go off the trail
I hope that Honda doesn't go with CVT--if they do, they've lost me as a customer. I'll take a gear on gear tranny any day---especially with Honda's reliability.
5,000
the automatic sucks. i have a 2012 foot shift and its awesome, as are all foot shift hondas. but if they came out with a cvt drive id seriously look at it. i want a canam, but dang there expensive.
Honda rancher 420ea
YAMAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope Honda never puts a cat on their machines
Aaaaaaa
The less technology the better in my mind. All this kawasaki,can-am,polaris,and yamaha have to much stuff on them to break and there almost all belt drive.I have had honda my whole life but i have drive yamaha and i have to say i like them but i still think honda has them beat. And i just dont like all the rest but honda is #1 period.
stright alxe is the best dont buy the irs i toke mine back
jerky as hell I rode one... dont get me wrong I love honda ...just saying
Nicole H you get used to it really quickly and than think the alternative feels weird
ya butt i have a broken back and feel about every jerk ...having the other system is far smoother just saying...
Yeah, a broken back might change things a bit ahaha.
I love to ride ,butt I feel every bump....honda makes a long lasting bike ..for sure
I agree I have a 400ho Polaris sportsman and my friend has the Irs version and I hate the gearing it shifts way to hard and every time I have it throttle it down shifts and pretty much redlines then waits..... Then shifts with the eps mode it is pretty fun to race around a track but anywhere else I want my Polaris because it rides way smoother and it does kill my back after riding it hard
? C V T? crappy vicious transmission.? say WHAT? LoL My mantra "belt's are for pants ! " or snow machines."gear on gear" no fear.R O L F!!!! my 02 still pullin strong! no rebuild no bearing's no new NOTHING ! Honda durability speaks for its self! so why buy anything else?
You think a belt drive is better.. Well bless your heart. 🙄
get off the pavement lol
How dare you demand that CVT garbage on the Hondas.
LOL!
wtf? cvt sucks! you put one in water or thick mud and that belt burns up and ur stuck! honda is better with shaft
I am just sick and tired of listening and watching videos about whatever with LOUSY-ASS BACKGROUND MUSIC NO MATTER WHAT. I wanted to learn about the Honda, but let's SHIT-CAN ALL THE BACKGROUND MUSIC THAT THE WORLD IS OFFERING RIGHT NOW. If I wanted to listen to music I would play a CD or get it on my computer.
KEN BORGIE wow this is old
