I was a cop in Dade County Florida for 5 years and my biggest fear was this happening during a domestic call. I was never affaid of the harden criminals but more of the emotionally distributed on a domestic despute call. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these heroes.

The police can simply do nothing and not be sued. 2023 Uvalde Texas estimated 400 police officers were on scene at the school. When mad man entered the school and killed 19 children. Nothing was done for over 77 minutes as little children bleeding to death called 911 to beg for rescue. During the incident the police arrested the parents who attempted to save their children. It’s an illusion that the police were on this scene to protect the children inside this home. Bring In military personnel carrier on to the scene probably escalated the situation. Hopefully we won’t have to wait months or years till the police release the body cam video unedited. Often the public has to hear the hollow words “ in the interest of transparency “ we can’t talk about an on going investigation. Hopefully, this will be an epiphany moment for some people: nobody has to "let" a criminal have a firearm. Criminals will have firearms until the end of time if they want one. They can 3-D print them at home now if they want to for God sakes. Plenty of criminals know how to make their own guns.
You can do all the background checks you want, infringe on the second amendment, all you want, pass all the unconstitutional laws you want. Criminals will absolutely always be able to get guns. Absolutely always.
This is why it's so absolutely insane to try to restrict law abiding citizens from their second amendment rights. Imagine the world where every criminal that wants a gun has one, but absolutely no law abiding, good citizen is prepared with one, and therefore able to defend the people around them in a critical situation
Or better yet, imagine millions of random people pouring across the border, military age males, many of them on the terrorist watchlist. We don't know anything about them. We have no idea who they are. They're coming from Iran. They're coming from China. They're coming from Venezuela. They're forming criminal gangs and doing mass invasions and mass shoplifting. And if you don't think they're gonna get a gun if they want one you're crazy.
The idea that this government is going to just let every possible kind of person with any possible kind of motive pour across the border (all the while, still spying on citizens under the guise of preventing terrorism!!!???)
Anyways, the idea that the government is just going to allow all these people in and then try to tell you that not only do you have to just allow this, but you can't even exercise your second amendment to protect yourself is insane. Under the 2005 ruling 7 To 2 ruling the police are under NO obligation to protect the public. Where Officer safety is involved. The police can simply do nothing and not be sued.
2023 Uvalde Texas estimated 400 police officers were on scene at the school. When mad man entered the school and killed 19 children. Nothing was done for over 77 minutes as little children bleeding to death called 911 to beg for rescue. During the incident the police arrested the parents who attempted to save their children.
It’s an illusion that the police were on this scene to protect the children inside this home. Bring In military personnel carrier on to the scene probably escalated the situation. Hopefully we won’t have to wait months or years till the police release the body cam video unedited.
Often the public has to hear the hollow words “ in the interest of transparency “ we can’t talk about an on going investigation. The Government tends to not be forthcoming to the public which they claim they serve and protect.
