James vs Mrs. Incredible
It was a good fight. But I’ll admit defeat.
You trying to resist the Elastigirl thirst traps is the most relatable thing ever 😭😭😭
Edna Mode is one of the best characters Pixar has even given us.
Don't you love it when an animated movie is enjoyable both for kids AND adults?
Absolutely!
Sausage party👀😂
No, it creates censorship.
@@CrashNTheBoys2002Huh?
@@guywholivesforart No I’m not trying to say anything controversial, if that’s what you are getting at. I love family movies but I don’t feel we gotta low our mature rating just to please the younger viewers. Look at Arcane, that is a perfect example for a 13+rating.
I can’t imagine a Pixar movie today having a scene with a man jumping off a building like that lmao
Man had nothing to say, just jumped lmfaoo
If you’re insinuating Pixar was “darker” back then, you are VERY mistaken. This was one of the first Pixar movies to BE dark, the first to show blood, mention suicide. This movie was a first. An outlier.
@@ninjireal Actually no. In Finding Nemo there were pretty scary moments that moved characters close to brutal death, not to mention first minutes where Nemo's mother died. And Darla.....still scares the hell out of me.
In WALL-E there were a lot of sad depressing moments. And not to forget the HAL in ship. Monsters Inc came before The Incredibles and it had a moments with torture machine, with possible Boo death.
Pixar indeed made animation movies that had more dark moments.
@@ninjireal not true at all
@@СерафимТоманов Let's just face it Disney has been dealing in death and killing people and characters off since the beginning. Bambi being one of the most notable early ones.
Did you know that Edna is voiced by Brad Bird, the director of this movie and Ratatouille? Dude is a legend.
One of the first things Brad Bird wrote and directed did was an episode of Amazing Stories (an episodic sci-fi/fantasy series produced by Steven Speilberg the 80s), called "The Family Dog." It was absolutely brilliant and made me watch for his name. I don't think the original ep is on UA-cam, but if you Google it, it's on DailyMotion. It's S02E16.
Oh wow! I didn't know that. I thought Edan was voiced by Linda Hunt who played the principle in Kindergarten Cop
He also directed The Iron Giant
Maybe the greatest director of animated films EVER
He is in the same tier as Miyazaki and Disney himself
The sound effects in this movie are god tier, the part with Dash running on the water as the machine gun bullets are skipping across is still my favorite sound effect in any movie to this day
The 2 old men at the end are 3D cartoon versions are last 2 living, at the time, of Disney's Nine Old Men crew of lead animators, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson. The heart and talent of the Disney animation machine for decades. they wrote a great book on animation called, "The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation.
James vs Pixar making Elastigirl his weakness
I tried. Lmfao
Especially the sequel I need that
Please add RANGO to the list. As a filmmaker yourself, you’ll dig it for sure! Having seen almost all Animated Film Oscar winners, RANGO is my favorite of the bunch.
I haven’t seen it either!
Rango is one of the greats. Not enough people react to it, it’s hilarious and cinematic as fuck. Same director as the first 3 Pirates movies
Rango is amazing!
@@JamesVSCinemaWatch Rango, dude! It's kino incarnate.
Yes yes yes, rango is incredible
"That was totally wicked!"
lol I love the neighbor kid.
i truly think this is one of, if not the best superhero movie.
Bobs saying he cant lose her again hits hard watching as an adult
That scene when Mr. Incredible is looking at the screen in Syndrome's Lair gives me chills every time I see it. It's not overexplained, and you piece it together at the same time as he does. The music builds up as the scale of his plan gets revealed. One great character detail I've had pointed out is how Bob/Incredible looks up Elastigirl/His Wife before he looks up his own to make sure she's safe. Whoever came up with this idea for telling this particular story deserves an award for turning what could have been a simple kids superhero movie into a complex adult thriller. It's gut wrenching.
The older I get the more I appreciate this movie. I love the character of Bob Parr and his whole journey here. There’s so much style, substance and quality to this movie that I just never caught when I was younger that it’s crazy. I was so wrapped up in the whole “whoa! Cool! Superheroes!” as a kid that I didn’t even realize that I was essentially watching a kick-ass spy thriller.
And so many awesome moments too. Bob deciding not to kill mirage after believing he’s lost everything, his whole getting fit montage and all the little moments it shows him with his family. So good
The whole sequence on the plane is breathtaking. I also love the moment when Bob discovers the conspiracy while his wife suspects he's cheating, and her calling him gets him captured. The jump cuts that keep getting tighter and tighter are fantastic.
11:03 ‘cause how many dudes out there that can transform you into a’ - copsicle. The word you were looking for, my man, was copsicle 😂
I think dash is the best portrayal of a speedster in media honestly just done so well
The thing that hits me most is how hard Bob is trying to be a hero before the main plot kicks in. Despite being more brawn than brain, he took the time to go over his company's policies with a fine-tooth comb so that he could help people in distress. OOOORRRR maybe he called in a favor from a more bookish hero, but being able to recall those details from memory is still impressive.
Dayum you're doing the childhood classics! If the James vs ___ concept allows more animated movies in the channel, then I'm all for it.
Yeah a lot more open for those!
@@JamesVSCinemayou gotta watch Soul man! One of Pixar’s best!
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 😁
James cos Fantastic mr fox
Someone once asked me, “If you could place the f word in one famous movie quote, where would it be.”
I responded, “Where is my mothafcking supersuit?”
I'll never stop the thirst for fictional characters, never.
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well
Brad Bird, who directed the movie and voiced Edna Mode, said of Edna: she may have the smallest stature, but in a room full of super heroes she had the biggest personality!
I have to say this, but Michael Giacchino is the GOAT Pixar composer. This, Up, Ratatouille, etc. Bless him.
I first heard of him when he did the music for the show Lost (which came out the year that *The Incredibles* did), so this movie and that show put him on the map.
The “Dash goes on a Run” scene lives rent free in my head to this day… and I can admit the Mrs. Incredible yams are still a distraction sometimes 😅
Love his little laugh when he realises he can run on water
@@SenojX88 I get chills every time I see that scene. He's been living his entire life not being able to use his gift and feeling ordinary when him and his entire family are the exact opposite of ordinary people. He's finally able to push himself to his limits and runs on fucking water and just laughs about it and it perfectly ties with the music. Definitely one of my favorite sequences in any movie
Oh man, 2004 was such a fun year. I saw Spiderman 2 and then the Incredibles.
8:09 even if he doesnt realize it, hes being a superhero for that old lady with just the knowledge of how to bypass bureaucracy (which is kind of superpower when you think about irl), one of my fav scenes.
James the one reactor I love to see do rewatches! Always coming correct with the interesting and fun commentary
"Frozone's brother Freezer" lmaooooooo
James: "I don't have a crazy brain that can remember every line of dialogue"
BCS fans: "I'M NOT CRAZY, I KNOW HE SWAPPED THOSE NUMBERS.."
Edna's voice actor was writer/director Brad Bird, which is amazing.
One of my favorite details that I never noticed until a tweet pointed it out, but even the color is degraded when he’s working in the office
When he sees the guys in the alley, it literally adds color back to the scene when there’s a chance to be a hero again
James, that’s elastiLADY to you :P lol
And I know this isn’t how it’s done but the thought of Jason Lee inhaling helium in the booth to voice young Syndrome makes me laugh.
James will you watch falling down? For some reason, Mr. incredible being broke down by his office job reminds me of that for some reason
Great film
22:33
man repositioned so we could admire the hallway 🫡
No way! I just mentioned it yesterday! This is definitely one of my top 5 animated movies, I love it. Perfect balance of being enjoyable for both kids as well as adults
Also, you really gotta appreciate their creativity when it comes to how they utilize their powers. They really went all in
James showing that sigma energy against Mrs. I.... Well, tried 😂😂
This movie has an amazing surround sound mix.
Lookin like Frozone and Thundercat had a baby LMAO it looks good though
Ayyyy that’s a fire comment
Iron giant would be really cool to see. Nemona is definitely worth a watch if you havent already! And its technically not a film but the mini series Over the Garden Wall is wonderful! I really enjoy it. If you watched all 10 episodes back to back its 110~ minutes so its effectively feature length.
Thanks for making the content you do, I love listening while im at work. Keep on truckin'
00:23 LMAO my dude, I was waiting because peoples’ reactions to Elastigirl is one of the funniest bits of Incredibles reactions. Didn’t realize it’d get addressed less than half a minute in. It’s okay, we’re all only human.
One my FAVORITE movies of my childhood.
Best early line from you. Golly, look at that sky. As Elastic Girl jumps off a building. Totally lost it there😂😂😂 Yes do the sequel. So much fun watching this❤
I’m remember see this *The INCREDIBLES* when I was 4 years old in 2004.
Disney’s *The INCREDIBLES* is An Incredible Masterpiece!
💥
One of the all time greats, this one (IRON GIANT NEXT PLEASE)
Noted!
Iron Giant is also directed by Brad Bird!
“You choose” 😭 gets me every time
I didn't know I needed this tonight untilI saw thumbnail. Let's freaking go.
The first animated film that made me go "Damn, that was really good" was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and the second was The Lego Movie
Lego movie so fucking good
This is literally my favorite animated movie ever. ❤ so happy you reacted to it. 🎉
This is an amazing film. I remember seeing this in the theaters about 20 years ago. It’s still a movie I’ll watch every now and then. It’s awesome to see you watch it James. Hope you’re doing well, have a great evening and take care!
It's so wild to think this movie is 20 years old 😳
Not sure where to go next? The Iron Giant. Brad Bird's first film, and probably his best. Also nails that balance between being made for both kids and adults.
Imma say this, after all of these years, Mrs. Incredible still thicc af.
A whole bowl of oatmeal
For the time being, this is still the best Fantastic Four movie.
I had forgotten how great these films are. The sequel to this and that animated Spiderman movie. Such tremendous writing and smartly done to appeal to any age audience. So much of this reminded me of a really good James Bond film from the 1960s. Awesomely creative with real characters in cartoon form. Thanks for doing this🤗💯
The Incredibles is awesome man!
Like the amount of topics it was talking about (Bob saved a man from his death, and that man sued him for it!!) hits even more now.
Also dont worry James, we dont blame for resisting temptation on Elastigirl.
The Incredibles truly is an incredible film.
One of the best films, very cleverly done 👍🏻
I love your channel boss. Keep up the amazing work.
Pixar knew exactly what they were doing with Elastigirl
What movie would you guys want me to VS?

Have a great day!
I've been asking for Crank forever. It's just such a wild ride, it feels like a movie made for reacting.
The Hudsucker Proxy
Off the Map is another great obscure film.
Meet the Robinsons if you haven't seen it. Super clever animated film.
Another hidden gem is Frailty. Horror/Thriller with Bill Paxton and Matthew McConaughey. (Directed by Bill Paxton as well.)
Oh lord. Fun though. If any of these films I wouldn't go with the sequel rather I would want to see you analyze Megamind because there are a lot of well noted cinematic techniques going in that one. Really impressive stuff according to many and I'd like to see your take on some of the scenes. The walking away in the rain scene in particular is very nicely done.
Jason Lee!! I’m so glad he’s still skating being the star that he has become.
This is definitely up there among my favorite Pixar movies. Its so re-watchable and fun all the way through!
Omg I've never seen your hair out before. Absolutely godly ♡♡
That spy movie jazz goes so hard and is so perfect for this movie. What a wonderful choice.
If you haven’t checked it out, there’s a bunch of additional lore from the special features that were included on the DVD that only make the story darker. There’s more information on the superheroes that Syndrome killed and some have voice actors playing them in an interview situation. I already at the age of 9 or 10 thought this movie was surprisingly dark, but when I found that section of the DVD, I was actually really disturbed. It’s still kind of eerie to listen to today.
The Incredibles is my favorite movie of all time. What a classic
This has to be one of the greatest animated films
Loved the reaction dude !
You ate in for a treat as Elasti-MILF takes center stage in the sequel.
Also, the music was purposefully done to sound like Bond films. The Dash running through the jungle scene is an homage to the speeder scene in Return of the Jedi, the opening city looks like DC's Gotham on purpose. And the ending w/ Moleman, is an homage to the Xmen's first villain, of the same name. He even said the same line!
“Cool World” if you haven’t yet
havent seen this movie since i was a small kid. and its way way better than i remembered. loved your commentary 😁
Oh the Raimi spiderman films would be awesome to see you do as well! Those films are awesome and packed with style
One of the best movie Ever. My favourite animated movie.
One of my ALL TIME favorite films
22:34 we all felt that from our soul
Never change, James. Lmao
"She is a cartoon"
Yes, BUT....she's also voiced by a real person. In a way, that kind of makes her "half" real, and it's a portrayal of someone's voice through a visual medium.
I never realize til now that Dash's teacher is also Linguini!
"LOOK AT THAT SKY" I feel ya
This is one of the best Pixar movies easily
One of my favourite Superhero movies. Does something that not ever Marvel or DC can do or personally haven't seen them do. You take superheroes and then put them in a world where are illegal and have to attempt to the real world. Living among us and how their abilities can affect. Their destruction even if not necessary and just was the case to help get that job done can strike concern and even get politics invovled. I'm on the move as I write this out but great film. One of my favourites in this genre.
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus is a great film directed by Terry Gilliam 10/10, the film was the last movie Heath Ledger was working on and subsequently had to be finished posthumously with the help of his fellow thespians-Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Ferrell! I think you’d enjoy the master level fantasy/mystery filmmaking especially knowing the backstory beforehand. Also worth checking out is Heath Ledgers debut as a director, the animated music video for “King Rat” Modest Mouse, you will love it, promise!
@22:41 " GODDAMN..... cool outfit" . My man
This was such an instant classic.
29:29 -- you probably knew this already, but those two old men were two of the "Nine Old Men" -- the original animators who worked with Walt Disney himself from back in the day. Their names are Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.
The things I remember being so obsessed with from this film as a kid was the omnidroid, frozone and ofc, enda mode lmao
Lol I forgot how many people died in this film 😂 Great reaction James!
That intro reminded me of Greekgodx Eye Tracking Challenge💀
One of the wildest intros I’ve seen in a long while lmao
after this intro i already knew the door scene gonna hit with this reaction
*james hyping up all of dashes scenes*
me casually waiting for the water run:🙂
Perfect timing
Not even 30 seconds in. You are a man of culture.
Crazy how syndrome setup that first fight specifically for frozon in the middle of a volcano, if he never would've set eyes on Mr. Incredible we would've lost frozon
James looked like a combination of Frozone and Static Shock in that costume
The Incredibles.
It's my favourite movie of all time.
Apart from The Shawshank Redemption.
YO LESS FUCKIN' GOOOO. Didn't expect this one at ALL!!!
“Goddamn, goddaaamn, GODDAMN”
😂
She too fine
This movie is fantastic. Full of entertainment
The first minute is hilarious.
"watched the second one in theaters in Myrtle Beach on vacation"
Me sitting in a hotel on vacation at Myrtle Beach: 😳
what are the chances lol i was just rewatching this earlier this week. was surprised how much i enjoyed it, easily one of the rawest kids movies ever.
