We can give Bharat Ratna award to Sachin Tendulkar and Lata mangeshkar but not to Shreenivas Ramanujan. Why?
He is the greatest mathematician produced by India since last 1100 years.Government should give him Bharat Ratna award as soon as possible.
Ramanujan belonged to British India. He did not have Indian citizenship.
@@_fujiniIn that case even Dr br Ambedkar belongs to British India
Without ramanujan, mathematics is like sun without Sunshine
No but a human without cells
Oh shut up.
Aur yahan school me iske barein mein kuch nahi padhaya jata.
Scumbags
no it is like man without computer
I AM SURPRISED, AN INDIAN WITH SUCH CALIBRE HASN'T BEEN CONFERRED WITH BHARAT RATNA.
Diamond itself doesn't exist to award him.
there are people who are students and then grow into teachers, but Ramanujan had no formal teacher....because his knowledge was a gift to mankind from the divine...his life was short because he had a messege to deliver ,like a prophet he delivered that messege and today mankind is a in a better place because of it...
Celestial beings are live only 32 years either vivekananda and sankaracharya also lived only 32 years. But i feel so happy for remembering my sweetheart ramanujan.
Friends pl do visit d museum of Chennai where all his memorabilia is kept
Visited d same two years back
Salutation to d genius
His wife’s pics too there
Humbling experience
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
He was a genius, it's hard to find a guy like him who with limited resources invented the formulas used 100 years after him in different fields .
I'm not a mathematician, he was a genius, but he was not alone. Those people come to my mind when I think about outstanding mathematicians which contributed to the field and still used today: Aryabhata, Bernoulli, Descartes, Euler, Fermat, Fibonacci, Fourier, Gauß, Kepler, Leibniz, Newton, Möbius, Pascal, Stifel
The man who knew infinity
Standing ovation to Ramanujam.
Really you people have put in lots of effort to create such a wonderful video, truly informative and highly inspirational, thanks for that
Thank you for taking time to make this.
Excellent documentary on the greatest Mathematician of India
There are many content made on Ramanujan. This one is the best of them all. Great work!
The very best mathematical genius, when he was inventing everything new, no one cared him, but when he left all realized his enormous contribution. His health deteriorated bcoz of strict food habits at the foreign land. India is the land gave birth to many of the greatest mind, the world is mesmerised seeing our country's potential & capabilities.
I don't think any other mathematician is as great as Ramanujan was
What I call Ramanujan sir is that he is a time traveller and he can think of things which were going to happen in the world
Ramunujan ki jai
So truthful: even the current attitude shown in one comment made by the prof at Cambridge, resembling what Ramanujam went through when he was invited by Hardy! The fact is, modern applied maths, network engineering, applied physics all have a huge debt of gratitude to Ramanujam. His name was misspelled as Ramanujan!
Such a raw and insightful documentry on the greatest of all time S. Ramanujan . Feeling more inspired now to dive into the world of mathematics as a math major. Great work done by the team behind this creation, look for more of such identification of ramanujan's life and his contribution to mathematics.
🙏🙏🙏
Salutations to you guys for acing this documentary !
21.42 : Ramanujam's Notebooks 🙏🙏
Goosebumps !!!
@27:15 was uncalled. It's an insult not just to Deity who graced through Ramanujam the whole world the beautiful concepts but also Ramanujam himself. Retract this dialogue. Otherwise it's a beautiful series 👍🏻
35:00 It would have been great to see the trio sitting together in real life
Best mathematician in the world that time
Ramanujan was a pure genius....💯💯💯
I hate that something such as a disease prevents a great mathematician to accomplish more. At 32? God knows what he could have done had he lived any longer.
God was afraid he will reveal all his secrets so he took him early.
Perhaps he was treated wrongly due to incorrect diagnosis. His contribution in science would surpass that of Einstein's to a margin that is beyond imagination.
@@tejapvk That is one way of thinking about it, our bias. Maybe hundreds more died that day due to the same disease and yet we label his death as surprising because he was ALSO a great mathematician unlike others. It's all in an individual's value and our correlation with events in that light
@@anmolagrawal5358 Please don't take it too seriously. My comment is just to convey the importance of his work. FYI, I'm an agnostic :)
@@tejapvk oh cool. Me too. Though I lean a bit more towards athiesm.
SRINIVAS RAMANUJAN... A Mathematics Genius, Quite Ahead If His Time...
wow hats of to u ramanujan sir
Really wonderful documentary about an amazing man.
Thank you for uploading this documentary
Very Informative
Thanks @IISER Pune for beutiful work .
The gift to the world was the gift of a Mother's Love. 🙏
wonderful documentation
Im obsessed with this documentary :-).
Yes, I request the Govt kindly give the award Bharataratna,to great Ramanujan.
The school Ramanujam attended and several other places still look in shambles as it was more than 100 yrs ago. A new lòok is imminent to draw in attention.
India is still in abject poverty. What a shame!
55:20 I'm almost crying hearing few made his cremation. Death at 2^5
This is so shameful that only Hollywood made noticed about him... Really proud of him
@Babyface0603 No.
Very nice documentary, then, the dialogue in Tamil @27:15 is simply an insulating dialogue to a practicing Hindu, Ramanujan. It only shows the way the current liberal hijack the Narratives, that is otherwise very good.
Thank you so much for this! I enjoyed your talk today on the Kerala School of Mathematics and touching very briefly on your experience with touching his notebooks. It absolutely broke my heart to hear you say that they’ll be destroyed within 50 years. I have beamed with pride, laughed and cried tears while watching this. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
I really motivate from this
Kash mein bhi sb kuch chor kr kudh ka math padhu
legend😴😴
Pl show something about his maths, his contribution to mathematics. I know his maths work was of Ph.D. level yet pl show something.
Dear IISER Pune....I was woking at Informatics Publishing ltd where we digitized the entire set if JMS digitally. You will find them here. www.i-scholar.in. you can buy the entire set digitally from them.
If ramanujan was alive today he would have suffered due to our marks based education system
I think you are next but suffering in jee 😂
Right💯💯
Is the conversation at 27:00 true? Did he really make up namagiri for those who did not understand math? Sounds like a stretch considering all the accounts he has mentioned regarding that
guitaoist ...no one very asked him what he meant. These Hindu deitys represents aspects of reality / cosmos at the philosophical level. I suspect Namigari represented the inspirational force (or source). These equations came to him in his dreams. Namigari , at the least was a Goddess he encountered in his dreams . His ideas were esoteric NOT following normal math side of brain.
Maybe he spent so much time on maths that in his dreams the connections made in his subconcious mind got revealed!
A 2021 ramanujam would not have given credits to a devi.
A high Iq religious Indian with no one to competition at that time would definitely think that some one is suggesting these insights to his brain.
A great video. One small conceptual mistake. Ramanujam is depicted as Vadagalai Iyengar. He was a Thengalai Iyengar. Probably it does not matter to the continuity of the movie, but factually incorrect.
"Mock data functions." "Mock state of functions." If you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm directly quoting a couple of the weirder translations of the Closed Captions system. I had turned it on, in a pathetically unsuccessful attempt to understand what the hell these people were saying. As you can see, it wasn't very helpful. And that's really just kind of sad. In the future, if you're going to do a documentary about the life of a scientist or mathematician, please do one of the following: 1) Don't include anybody discussing technical aspects of their work. 2) Only include technical aspects of their work by illustrating what you're saying with graphics that are both illustrative and plainly readable. 3) Take the time to have someone with the necessary technical knowledge translate what's being said into meaningful closed captions. Anything else is useless to anyone who doesn't already know it. Thank you. Rikki Tikki.
👍👍👍😍😍😍
RAMANUJAN WAS THE MODERN DAY SIR ISSAC NEWTON W/NO FORMAL/SPECIALIZED EDUCATION IN MATH., PURELY BY INSPIRATION FROM GODDESS NAMAGIRI
Would like to propose a conspiracy theory here...what if the multidisciplinary discoveries that Sir Issac Newton made were based on the Arabic and Greek texts, which themselves were based on Indian texts.
But unlike today there was no one to take the credit on the Indian side.
Integrate sinx from 0 to 2pi 0 to 4 pi 0 to 6pi 0 to 8pi
Find the mistake share it with others and see that it is taught correctly in the classrooms. This and rest of trigo calculus.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Perhaps he was treated wrongly due to incorrect diagnosis. His contribution in science would surpass that of Einstein's to a margin that is beyond imagination.
He could have deciphered Enigma, discovered the UFT. Proven, to all, there is a God. hmmm, I think he did that last one.
Did govt of India or Tamilnadu helped his wife she used to live in poor condition...?
Governments of Madras,Andhra Pradesh and Bengal would give monthly pensions to Ramanujan's wife Janki Amma till her death in1994.
at 23:53 i just couldn't hold my laugh😂😂
Yeah man, thats so remarkable that it almost seems impossible
iiser I'm coming in months....
Nikhil Mishra I'm there
God like figure
Have you bhai?
he died in poverty..😟😟😟
He died in incomplete path
Ramanujan naam lata he shanti mil jati ha
bass kar yaar

We dont want story .story flow the end of the wolld.we want learn.
GREAT/ILLUSTRIOUS PERSONS DO NOT LIVE LONG, REVIVOR OF SANATANA DHARMA (HINDUISM) AADI SHANKARACHARYA DIED @ AGE 33, GENIUS RAMANUJAN ALSO DIED @ 32, I BELIEVE CHRIST WAS ALSO OF AGE 33 WHEN HE WAS CRUCIFIED.
I find it bewildering why do we need this background music?!
This is program about a mathematician!
Everything is polluted by music in the background.
What's wrong with people?
Wanted listen to this quietly and try to envisage everything I hear, but that silly music comes on and ruins everything! 👎

Why can't India produce movies with substance, expository stories about human achievement instead of generic Bollywood dancing crap
