      Y’all argue over a FRX trem mounted to a brace block on a acoustic??? I’m pretty sure it’s possible?( I am a bit optimistic bout the bracing )

    Inlay some carbon fiber strips in the braces on the next one. The only concern about longevity I could think of is the braces don’t have the strength of a traditional cross grain braces.
    The bridge is awesome man! These things are seriously loud and clear. You’re on to something here. I’d love to see one made out of redwood or cedar.

    This a totally different beast. Sounds really good. If the back has the correct support I don't think you need any screws to support the bridge, the glue will handle it.

    Amazing work! I love to see you putting out these new innovations and breaking with traditional methods, using affordable tools in your garage to produce super high quality instruments that appear to play better than most "off the shelf" production models! I've got a long long way to go, but you really inspire me. I'm currently on my third build and experimenting too (long-scale baritone, from treated pine that used to be my back porch hahahaha). Thank you for being you, and sharing your journey with us!

    Sean, I designed something similar, but more of a hybrid, thinner with steel strings, and a humbucker. It doesn't have the volume of a traditional acoustic but sounds good unplugged, and deadly plugged in. But I love your idea. Patent brother patent!

  • @richardrichard2028
    @richardrichard2028 3 роки тому +2

    It’s a bit difficult to judge tone when the audio is recorded through less than optimal audio equipment but with that being said this is Extremely Interesting at the very least because it still sounds “pretty dang good” .
    (And better than many traditional acoustic guitars I’ve heard on demo’s)
    Sounds to me like it leans towards the brighter side but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as it may cut through better in a mix or when jamming with more instruments.
    Would love to hear it live.
    I dig it ... the whole thing .... the whole idea and execution.
    Keep it coming.

    • @scarmyguitar
      @scarmyguitar  3 роки тому

      I think it does sounds best under a hot mic. It doesn't have that annoying bass overtone that keeps an acoustic from being clear in a mix.

  • @TheCaptainsCog

    That is great! Only thing to make it better is if the plate was a bit more hidden under the saddles. I wanna see more wood at the end/opening of the bridge. Thats my only suggestion.

    • @scarmyguitar
      @scarmyguitar  3 роки тому

      Nope that won't make it better, that will cause it to not work actually cause it willmake the saddle screws get hung up on the lip of the plate. It's exactly where it needs to be :) Lot of trial and error went into this.

    Man, it actually sounds great! Sounds like there are some electric guitar sonic characteristics (acoustically speaking) in the the attack, definitely caused by the metal saddles. Definitely does make a difference! I'm pretty sure the SS frets added some bite/clarity as well (GOSH I love SS frets!!!)

  • @allenwebster6329
    @allenwebster6329 3 роки тому +2

    Great build and sounds pretty dam good that bridge is what did it most acoustic guitars are hard to intonate the low e is the hardest one even on my Kramer baretta the low e I had to take the stupid spring out to get back far enough plus I had to cut the screw because the screw would hit the string and that was on an $800 guitar I wasnt pleased to say the least but managed to fix it right but I was like this guitar should be better than this for what I spent hell every guitar will have issues I dont care if they cost a million bucks something is bound to be wrong because things are not perfect ever,but in your case its different you made something unique for you I like it alot you put work into something that will last for many years be proud of yourself the guitar is awesome I wish I could build a guitar I wouldnt know where to begin ,great video godbless and be safe

    Love the guitar and your videos.
    It seems that the material cost is higher than that of a standard acoustic: instead of using many flat pieces that you bend into sides and have tops, you use large pieces and carve them.
    Also not knowing how, I'd imagine your bridge transmits the vibrations of the strings into the soundboard worse/differently as the force unlike a regular bridge is not as orthogonal to the soundboard.
    Great guitar though:)

    Love your attitude brother, big reason I love Brads channel too.
    Keep on challenging the "Accepted view" and always ask "Why".

    You and Brad both challenge my thoughts at times and whilst I don't always agree with stuff it NEVER gets in the way of enjoying the discussion and NEVER makes me think any less of who I disagree with if it's an intelligent dicussion and not just some asshole pushing his own views without listening.
    I'm Australian so forgive me 🤣
    That guitar looks amazing and sounds great. I bet it would be a really good Studio instrument.

    • @Notinserviceij
      @Notinserviceij 2 місяці тому +2

      "less tone"- if there were ever such a meaningless statement it would be this one
      WHAT TONE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
      Tone isn't a sound, it needs something in front of it, bright tone, muddy tone, warm tone (warm and muddy are the same ) or bassy tone
      I never understood why people parrot this phrase, it's almost like they don't know what they are looking for in a guitar and just follow what a company gives them as the "best" sounding guitar
      Pet peeve rant over
