- Our 9 kids are trying all kinds of new things in New Zealand, but they never expected to go into a store like this!! In this video, Auckland continues to surprise and amaze us all! We explore new stores, try new foods, and happen upon one of the biggest surprises of the trip in a small town named Coatesville! Join us for the adventure! :D
I'm glad you had a lovely time but my mind is blown by the fact you had never seen an apple tree before! I guess growing up in NZ it's just one of those things you take for granted. When I was a kid every house had any apple tree and more, the house I grew up in had an apple tree as well as peach, plum, nectarine and lemon trees.
Even your average pom has seen an apple tree.
Wow!! So many fruits!! That is incredible! 😍
My Grandad had all different types of fruit trees, feijoa, cooking plums & apples. Peaches, orange ,
mandarin & lemon tree. Grew beefsteak tomatoes aswell. He'd bottle the fruit & also jams
Red heads, big smiles and laughter from an amazing family visiting us here in NZ. There's such a feeling of fun and respect amongst you! Refreshing to see you exposing the younger children to new experiences like apple picking and Tip Top ice cream!😂❤
Aww thank you!! We are so grateful for the chance to eat a hand-picked NZ apple! I love how so many things there are locally grown and made, it’s incredible! If I remember right we drove right by the Tip top factory on the main motorway?!
@@ValieBallard that part of the motorway is called Tip Top Corner. Enjoy your stay here. I'm sure you'll love it.
If you are heading north of Auckland you might be able to pick oranges and strawberries as well. Look in your guide book for limestone caves and glowworms. Enjoy our wonderful country.
Food in New Zealand is definitely more expensive than what you will be used to, but our fruit and vegetables are way fresher and nicer. As the children found,, the apples are sweet and crunchy. And yes, I have been to the States and had the supposedly fresh produce, but none if it measured up to ours. Enjoy your time here, it is lovely to see people from other countries experiencing the good things of our country 💝 🇳🇿
It's such a pleasure seeing your big smiles. Welcome to NZ. Hope you all have the best time. Hope new Zealanders treat you well. Bless you all.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Your kids are exceptionally well behaved, great job parents..enjoy our country, you must have spent a small fortune!
Aww thank you!! ♥️🫶🏻
It wasn’t as bad as we expected but not too cheap either 😝
The most wholesome video I've watched tonight ❤ Enjoy enjoy enjoy!
Aww thank you!! 🥹
So cool, welcome to NZ all the best for your visit and I hope our people treat you kindly and you enjoy your time here
Thank you! 😃
Being someone who has not travelled back home (NZ) in the last 12 years, id like to thank you for the little glimpses i get to see through the enjoyment you and you family are having while you are there, i hope you guys try the bakery pies, and i hope you give a hangi a go as well as our long john doughnuts oh and a cocnut bun (originally they should be coated in sweet cocnut cream), have a great time and thank you guys again.
Nau mai haere mai ki Aotearoa-Welcome to NZ. You have a real down to earth Whanau-Family. Enjoy your stay with us. Bkessings on your journey.
Thank you so much 😊
Loved doing this growing up. Pay a few dollars and get a bucket of apples. Remember to wash them in water before eating.
Hello fellow Texan! That looks like an absolute blast! I’ve never seen an apple tree before, I’ll definitely have to check it out. Your family is beautiful! I hope you all have a fantastic time in New Zealand, it’s quickly become one of my favorite places.
Awww thank you! Thank you for sharing this, I feel less alone in my apple naivety 🥹😍♥️
@ Haha, you are SEEN! 🤗
My family has a pear tree, my Aussie friends have a mandarin tree, and now my friends in New Zealand have a strawberries and a tomato vine! It’s so amazing to experience these in person-such a contrast to growing up in the city. Also, the difference in taste compared to store-bought produce is incredible!
Evermore is not far from me! This is such an amazing video. A fresh perspective on my home! I think we might do more exploring these holidays. Youve seen things I've never noticed, or had forgotten about.
🤗♥️🫶🏻
This is another amazing video! I love your family.
😍🥰
This looks fun thanks for sharing guys
God bless you children and your parent.
God bless you guys during your visiting New Zealand 🙏 ❤ enjoy your holiday and have a safe trip home 🏡 😊 🎉💖
Lovely to see suc h a nice family visiting our shores, do try kapiti icecream while your here, delicious! Enjoy the rest of your stay, safe travels.
Aaah the ole Coatesville Store, remember walking from my little flat to there and back, a few sleeps back, now. Should have picked up a bucket full of wind fall apples and could have stewed them and then had with your brekky cereal or with icecream or just stewed apple...
God bless you and your family
Kia Ora what I nice family enjoy your time here aotearoa/New Zealand
Thank you!! :)
Sometimes the YT algorithm is incredible, it suggested this clip and a few minutes in what do I see, the Coatesville store, my sister (RIP) used to run it about 30 years ago.
Awww it is a magical place, I’m so happy you recognized it! I’m so sorry about the loss of your sister ♥️
Fruit picking in summer is a great family tradition in nz
its good to see you hitting that tip top ice cream
Oh yeah Hokey Pokey Ice Cream!!! The best ice cream lol. Its my fav.
Yous will definitely need to visit Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) & Raglan
For sure, although if you visit Kirikiriroa the best ice cream place is Duck Island on Grey St. I also tried rolled ice cream the other day at Copper and Cream which was pretty awesome. Got any good recommendations for next time I head out to Raglan? 😄
If your older boy likes Jerky, try Biltong from one of the many South african butchers in auckland, I would highly recommend Pinehill butchery not far from where you appear to be staying,Piha Beach is a must see too,so much just in Auckland,if you travel a little north it gets more tropical, one of my faves is the Kai iwi lakes.
If your heading up North. Make sure to stop in at Moerewa,my Uncle Burps runs the best tattoo & art gallery
Ink Addiction
Yeah motown hard burps artist way backs just like his mum
"Do not touch them. Oh maaan..." 🤣🤣
😝🤣
The world says Pakistan is not a good country, but you have seen that the people of Pakistan are loving and affectionate.🇵🇰♥️😊
We met you at church on Thailand (took you to eat afterwards) and now we're living in Wellington 😁 Welcome to NZ!!! So glad you came! Are you still here?
ahhhh!!!! Hello!!! How are you guys? I'm so happy to hear from you!! :) We aren't there but I sure hope we get to return asap! We loved it, I wasn't ready to go home! What a lovely place it is there! :) I hope you all are doing well! :) You guys were such a blessing to us when we were in Thailand, it felt like a refreshing glass of water to go eat with you all that day!!! Thank you for inviting us along, it meant so much to us!!
Your family MashAllah 👍
kia ora Valie & family happy 2025 welcome to New Zealand enjoy yourselves
Thank you!! Happy new year to you too 🤗😊
Only shop in large supermarkets, not small dairy's for less expensive food. Have fun
Strawberry picking is a lot of fun...😃👍😃
Seems like the kids doesn't go to school as all the time they travelling.love from pak 😂❤
We do take off as needed but we homeschool so we can work in summer too :)
You will find food in NZ IS pretty pricey, your children are so poilte as, in NZ we always add AS to all talk such as, choice as. sweet as. You have a beautiful family. Enjoy yourselves in our beautiful country. "HAPPY NEW YEAR"
Ohh thank you!! ♥️♥️ Happy New Year to you!! 🫶🏻
Yesss Kiwi Land is Paradise 😅😅😅 Jakx
When Taco Bell first came to NZ, the execs in America were very disappointed in the prices that we charged. Kiwi's agree.
Is this lovely family just visiting New Zealand, or are they here to live?
We were just visiting! :)
I'm sure the kids would enjoy strawberry picking, there are several places you can do this. There are better options for food as well, try going to a bakery just before lunchtime. Great to see the kids enjoying themselves.
Thank you!! I think you’re right!! The bakery we visited in Glenfield was quite reasonable compared to fast food!
@@ValieBallard Hi Valie. I'd highly recommend a visit to Sheepworld, a farm park just outside of Warkworth, where the kids can interact with the animals they have there....feeding baby lambs (and even a little piggie last time I was there) I'm sure the kids would enjoy that. Just google "sheepworld" and you'll be able to find it.
Good to go Blueberry picking too at this time of year at Ngatea, near Thames
Where did you go that it cost $8.49 eager for the ice cream?!?! That is crazy, we have crazy food prices here butt even so that is a lot.
A tip from a kiwi who lives on a tight budget, there is an app called grocer, it has a white background and a blue basket as the app icon, you put in/add your local supermarkets and then when you want something you type in the product press enter and then click on the product and a list should pop up underneath it showing where it is cheapest atm and it keeps up to date with sales too.
If you don't want to do that, then the cheapest supermarket on average for most things is Pak n Save with and dairys/corner stores /fresh choice/super value and countdown/woolworths being more pricey for most things.
I hope that helps you save some money. Sorry about the expensive food prices here.
I hope you are having a great time and enjoy all your adventures! ❤
These are great tips!! I’m going to save the name of that app!! I think we bought it at a small store in Torbay, if I remember right! It wasn’t on sale, I’m so glad to hear that’s not your normal price for ice cream!!!
@ValieBallard I live in Christchurch so the prices may be slightly different. But if it was a small store like a corner store or dairy or something they are known to sell things for a lot more than the big supermarkets, same with supervalue and fresh choice, they are normal more pricey too!
I hope you can find things cheaper! I may be popping down to the supermarkets today, I will reply with the cost of a tub of tip top ice cream from Pak n Save near me and let you know!
Enjoy your adventures here!
@ValieBallard Just looked it up and yhe price I was thinking if was for the brand Much Moore which does flavours like hokey pokey and other kiwi flavours, it is about $4.99 on sale (looks cheapest at pak n save this week), but tip tops average price down here at the bug supermarkets seems to be $7.00 to $7.29 per 2L tub.
Hope that helps!
3:18 Did she say "Yes, Mam." to her Mum?
Yes! Kids say that as a sign of respect here :)
Super creepy. Gives off very controlling vibes.
Brilliant place to raise a family
Beautiful family.
Unfortunately some foods are very pricey in new zealand, the tip topmice cream i only get when on sale, then i stock the freezer, lol. We do have some wo derful fresh fruit and vegies though, as long as you eat in season.. and , we have some wonderful second hand book stores, where i can spend all day
Should visit Nelson New Zealand. We have fresh boysenberries at this time of year. 9 children is not many my brother and his wife have 11.
Wow!!!! That’s amazing!! I would love 11!!
I used to work as a berryfruit auditor in Nelson as a summer job. Lots of different berry types.
Not to make you jealous or anything, when I grew up just North of Auckland we had an orchard in our backyard and we could just go outside and pick apples, plums, grapefruit and lots of others.
Same for me in Nelson. All replaced with houses now.
Hope you enjoy your stay in NZ and see how beautiful this country really is
What a nice family. And the quaint "yes mam" from the children. Not a thing for us in NZ, although I suppose "yes Mum" is almost the same thing.
ma'am
I brought 2 litres of Tip Top on the 22nd of December 2024 at New World supermarket in Masterton for $4 it was on special for half price normally $6 - $8 for 2 litres
Wow, that’s a steal!! I hope you stocked up! 😃
My local supermarket usually has Tip Top ice cream for between $4.50 and $6.00. You should shop around, I feel, as that is expensive for Tip Top!
Damn $8.49 each😮 for tiptop, was that out at west Auckland too?
Torbay/Long Bay, maybe it's higher there?
Do classic NZ takeaways like Fish and chips, Hells Pizza or Burgerfuel. Happy travels
Thank you!!
Lol. I wouldn't call hells pizza or burger fuel "classic nz"... I'm 50 and have never even seen either, much less tried em...
I loved watching this video, it looks like you guys had a blast in NZ! I can't wait to see more of your videos, it's always so much fun to watch your family. I do have one question though, in the arm wrestle between Noah and Mr. Ballard, who won? I'm rootin' for Noah lol 😂
I love your vote of confidence! 💪🏻 Noah lost this time but I have no doubt he will take any challenge and keep trying until he wins! 😉
Well hello again you your kids and hole family looks in good shape enjoy As much you can my good wishes with you people
I bet the Auckland weather is confusing you😁 I wish you all a wonderful time in NZ - and the USD/NZD exchange rate is really in your favor right now😉
you can do avocado picking too
It’s so beautiful there. I like the arm reselling in the store. Robert look like you might be struggling to win. Thanks for sharing.
😆 They were SO red I was worried about them bursting something! :D
I had him right where I wanted him! 💪
You need to make sure you try some Whittaker's chocolate while you're here. Top quality all the way and not all that much more expensive than the cheaper brands
8.49 is a rip for tiptop
I was so surprised myself! I thought it was normal for you guys, I'm glad I was wrong! :)
I Work insupermarket in wellington usually 7 but on special for 5 over xmas
Here we go again, lady ❤
😂😂😂never seen a apple tree😂😂😂bro honest to who😂😂😂
$8.49 for hokey pokey ice cream?.....$5.49 at my local supermarket.
I was at pak n save yesterday and those 2 litre creams were only $4 I wonder if you brought those $8 ice creams from a dairy because that price was very expensive for a supermarket chain
I think it was a little shop in Torbay if I remember correctly?
I wished I would have shopped around, I was really surprised and just thought you guys had to pay more for ice cream than we do at home! :)
Blueberry picking is always fun
You've never picked apples in america?
but the time johnny apple seed spent planting seeds all over america, so you could have apple pie was just a waste of time...just kidding. Hello from New Zealand ✌️
Never! :) I don’t think I even realized it until then!! I guess he missed Texas or we don’t have apples in the south because it’s too hot :) we can grow pears in Texas but pear pie isn’t quite as appealing, hehehe!!
Johnny appleseeds apples were exterminated at start of prohibition era due to cider making potential... I don't think any trees remain.
@rahowherox1177
1919...limited (my bad, I don't the whole story) but, you brought up a good point though.
Specially here for my ❤ Noelle
Hello.hope all well family.is your home safe in California.?stay blessed.
We are in Texas so we are thankfully not having to deal with the fires. Thank you for thinking of us!!
Allah protect all of you and beside all people.@@ValieBallard
Nice sharing video ❤
Happy Christmas
Happy New Year 🎊
God bless you and your family members ❤
Thank you so much!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy 2025! :)

Thank you so much Ma'am
I like your all videos Traveling to Country ❤️
Hello friend. How are you? Mashallah beautiful Apple 😊 i like your videos 😊 everything so good 😊 happy new year friend 😊 very cute child 😊 like done ❤sty connected 😊
Most fruit is sprayed and you should wash the apple's skin before biting into it, unless the grower told you it hadn't been sprayed.
Catherine do you remember Christchurch mosque shooting incident 😢
Yes you’re right about this- he did, thankfully!!
You people amaze me. The kids are so well-behaved and the parents seem so chilled. Perhaps we are only seeing the good bits?
Definitely not everything is on video-we do have our difficult moments but overall we are usually happy! :)
What! $8.49 each for Tip Top Brand That's a Total Rip Off. It's usually $6.49 or $5.49. Anyways Upgrade to Deep South Brand or Kapiti Brand. There Ice Cream is Not As Watery &Flouraree as TipTop Brand. :)
Wow really bella looking so gorgeous 💜💙
Thank you, I think so too! :)
@ValieBallard my pleasure
Apples trees are thinned when the apples are small to prevent overcrowding. So they do come in clusters of 3 or more.
Man taco bell meat in the us is not as nice. Wr use all the same seasonings and ingredients except in nz we have food standards about meat and the stuff in the us actually dosent meet it. The vegtables should aldo be a bit fresher. Hope you enjoyed cos I tried it over there at first, loved it, but now lime ours so much more idk if Id go back to US. The price reflects the quality of the protiens for farrrrk its expensive in nz.
This makes so much sense now that you explained it! I think your meat in NZ is much better than the US! Maybe the meat is a reason our combos with drinks and everything are only $5.99 USD! :) I think we're getting a soy meat mixture!
Nice ...plenty of fruit falling off the trees here near where you picked your apples got grapefruits, oranges rotting in the garden don't know what to do with them BUT come on don't be paying 8 NZD plus for your ice cream its 4 for a good own brand - or 6 NZD ish in even the expensive supermarkets for Tip Top . Not the same choices as in USA but still some , Come on guys get with the program ( spelt the american way)
I’m in awe that you have so much fruit growing!! I wish I had known that wasn’t a normal price for ice cream, it seemed very expensive but I didn’t shop around like I should have! :) 🧐😀
The owners EXPECT you to eat some LOL You sample them to get the ones you like the most.
That ice cream should be $4-6. I can only assume you bought it at a dairy for it to be $8+
Don't buy expensive takeaway food, far too expensive in nz
we were so surprised by the dining food costs! We found it was $15-$25 NZD/person everywhere so we chose to eat at home more than usual!
Bella looks beautiful
Are they all your biological children?
They are! :)
@ wow
Plzzz uploaded the nandos Islamabad video plzzzz ❤
Ive never paid more that $6 for tip top ice cream. Need to shop at pak n save
It felt pricey but I didn’t realize it wasn’t normal! 🫣😝
The apples are small. NZers don’t want a big red shiny apples.
