As a Jays fan, making the playoffs and winning a series was the bare minimum we expected for the season. The season was a big disappointment based on the expectations we had before the season, but seeing how the team is finishing the season with the current squad is a small light at the end of a dark tunnel
As a Cardinals fan not supporting the team has a lot to do with the front office blowing smoke up our ass and just expecting us to take it. We would support a .500 team or even a losing team if the front office had some sort of idea what they were doing. Look at the Blues and the support they are receiving it's because the front office has said we are doing x y and z to get back to being completive long term, but it may mean a few rough years, but you can clearly see the trajectory the Blues are trying to take. The Cardinals feel like they are content being a just over .500 team and sneaking into the playoffs.

Mo has cost this team terribly, and Marmol is a horrific coach. they really just need to wipe out all their managers and execs and start off. they replace players whose performance they question, now it’s time for the Cardinals to figure out they can, and must, replace their management too. if it weren’t for Mo, we’d still have some of those players they let go either prematurely, or because they weren’t “yes ma’ams.. “ Management having a bad attitude yields bad results 100 percent of the time. Look at the amount of players they let go who started excelling on other teams. Not just the newbies, but seasoned players like hicks, flaherty, Carpenter, O’Neill, etc… This list goes on, it’s a lot.. ive turned down 2 sets of free 100 section tickets this year. just saying.
I’m surprised you didn’t place the Seattle Mariners. At mid June, was leading the AL west by 10 games. Nearly a month later, that lead was gone. Offensively they’re batting .222 (worst in MLB), was around .214 a month ago when they fired Manager Scott Servais. Starting Rotation has been one of the best in MLB but nothing to show for it causing the offense unable to score enough runs. Team lost the season series to a bad Angels team. Also lost series to the Tigers, Twins, Marlins, Nats, Pirates & Blue Jays. baseball Ops head Jerry DiPoto off-season acquisitions have been awful (Haniger, Polanco, Garver). Julio Rodriguez had taken a step back, JP Crawford having a terrible season. Yet DiPoto still has a job cause the M’s have a really good farm system. Also ownership not willing to spend money to compete cause they’re cheap & rather focus on bobble heads, fireworks & putting concerts. I know the M’s are still in playoff chase but this fanbase is fed up with leadership & ownership that hasn’t invested in putting a competitive ballclub & a disappointment of this season.
I went to 17 cardinals games 2 years ago, last year went to 12 (when they were even worse) and this year now 7. It is not because they are playing bad and constantly loosing it is management. These are the managers that think putting in $60 million IN TAX PAYER MONEY to Busch Stadium for behind the scenes updates is going to bring fans instead of putting that into the team. I am sorry I am not spending my money going to games when management doesn’t know how to run a team anymore and are disconnected from their fans…but also blame fans for this
MLB as a whole is a bust. I predict that the 2024 World Series will have a 3 (or just over that) national Nielsen rating, cumulative, with a midweek game or two pulling less than a 1. That is unless the Yankees and Dodgers play (and you know that's what they're aiming for) and in that case they might get a series 5, and midweek games at 4. This year, fans will take the opportunity to (at least virtually and economically) flip the Stefano Ricci footwear crowd at MLB a big, quite noticeable, proverbial middle finger...In NorCal, I expect MLB's "Fall Classic" to not even register a 1 - again, if the Dodgers play, they might get a 3. Maybe a 4 from the Ohtani Effect. That's it...I'll go even one level of preposterous better - just for those who still drink the MLB Kool-Aid...I would bet that if the Ballers were televised, that they would outdraw the World Series in the NorCal TV market, and not by a little bit...Everybody keeps talking about "The Big One" hitting California. 2024 will be "The Big One" hitting MLB. Rob Manfred, you and Baseball's sins against your fans will be judged by Madison Avenue. And it won't be pretty...
The Blue Jays remind me of their NHL counterpart in Toronto. More than enough talent to go the distance. Can't get out of the starting gate. I'm a fan of neither team (Tigers and Habs right here), but I appreciate talent and know what should happen.

The Rays stadium deal is done. The city and the county both approved the deal and groundbreaking is set (I think) for January. Good point on them clearing the decks for the new stadium. Their farm system is loaded, especially at Double A. I also expect they're going to be reorienting their market efforts as St. Petersburg and Tampa show no moves to make it easier to get to the stadium (new or old). I was a young reporter when the St. Petersburg City Council plunged into madness and decided to build what became Tropicana Field. 40 years on, it still isn't the ideal location (spoiler alert there is no "ideal" location in Tampa Bay) but St. Petersburg's demographics and the areas to the south are much different.

I think the white Sox get sold to Utah just like the coyotes did. They want a lot of money from tax payers to build a new stadium and the tax payers didn't want to do it. But I'm hopeful that we just get a new expansion here and not just get sold a lousy team. I'm not saying the coyotes were a lousy team, they just had a lousy owner. I'm so excited to finally have the NHL in Utah
Some Chicago Cubs fans might say the Cubs 2024 Season is a bust. With the hiring of Craig Counsell fans expected the Cubs to win the NL Central Division this season. Unfortunately the Cubs have to same team as last year. The Cubs will probably finish around.500 just missing the NL Wild Card playoffs. Still the Cubs have a much better team than the White Sox. The White Sox are in total rebuild mode.
