The show made me ship these two. Different experience in the books.
I am a malina shipper, but this second season made me question why she wanted to be with Mal. I can’t believe she did not want to marry this guy.
I would have married him after one episode.
I also really want one arranged marriage story where it is mutual and feelings develop over time.
They both care about Ravka and its people. He is kind, compassionate, funny, and charming (in a good way). He cares about her and does not take advantage of her.
I feel narratively, Mal needed to die. Also, because I wanted these two to end up together.
The ending is making me question it though.

I dont ship them.. i dont think its confusing i love alina with the darkling , but i love nikolai so much i feel he deserves better and if youve read king of scars the banter him and zoya have i really hope they bring them together but this is lovely ❤ i just love nikolai he needs protecting and saving at all cost
