I guess after seeing that one .. where the couple was 10x as dumb as the American version .. I'm cutting these guys some slack for not getting out of there.
As Cliche as it may be, they shouldve just wrote Agnes to have an asthma attack and left her inhaler. That way it would lessen their stupidity in going back.
she could of kept the inhaler in the support bunny, (some cuddle toys have a zip pouch). since she always has the bunny on her it would be a logical place to keep an inhaler. that way they could of had 2 reasons to go back. and panicking over losing the bunny would cause a panic attack which in turn would cause the asthma attack to increase creating a sense of emergency and being in the middle of nowhere seeing their daughter panic would cause the parents to panic and they wouldn't even think about it they would have no choice but to go back and it wouldn't seem like a dumb decision and the audience would totally buy the reasoning.
By the third act you just didn't care.... the young kid was like dropping hints constantly and the daughter is like I don't understandb😂 parents are so daft
Wait!!! They got away then went back for a stuff animal? XD WTF! That is the dumbest reason to every go back to people that you don't know and creep you out enough to run away from. I knew the movie was going to be dumb, but I did not think it would be that stupid.
Guys, guys! It's the premise of the film they can't chuck it out of the window. If the parents were as decisive and strong willed they won't have a movie to begin with. They couldn't say no to their daughter's tantrums (who btw is clearly shown neurodivergent with an emotional support bunny) because they were not able to say no in general 😅
They get Paddy on the ground because the girl stabs him with the ketamine shot how did you miss that lol Was their prize goose not a chicken Also might have missed this detail but you said the weird chef guy randomly conveniently turns up but if you remember when they all come out of the loo to say goodbye Paddy is tailing off a phone call on the landline - presumably to tell him the endgame is about to happen

It's kinda pathetic that the Dad has the lowest kill score in the family. Mom scores 2 solid points, daughter and little boy share a kill, one point each, but the dad is still a virgin by the end credits when it comes to killing. Not even shooting the fox. That marriage will never last.
The big plot hole at the end got me is why did the dumbass husband stop INSIDE the gate to go and save Ant, thus trapping his family and their car in this crazy family’s estate.
I love your Ben impressions. The first film kind of makes sense as to why the couple didn't stand up for themselves. Danes are known for being very polite and they don't like causing tension. So, the first film takes that to extreme.
As soon as they got to their house I got the ick so bad I thought I'd break out in hives. No FKN Way my kid would sleep in a separate room and On The Floor WTF. The STAIN in the bed and they Still slept there?? I didn't need Any violence to happen before I'd be gtfo and leaving the beta or damn comatose husband behind me. The tension in this movie was top tier.
"Fast forward" LOL!!! I just saw this movie and thought the same thing, Leave the bunny! Everything that happened after the moment they turned around for the bunny is Agnes' fault and I hope she knows this and I hope her parents never let her forget it. LOL.
You should watch the foreign one. Those people just let themselves get stoned to death at the end of the movie and I don't mind spoiling that depressing crapfest. Hard to believe .. but the folks in the American version were 100x less pathetic, not to mention at least there was an attempt to get some sort of motivation for the bad guys this time around. The she-boss aspect of the female character in the American version really grated. That wasn't present in the euro version as both of the main characters were lunkheads. The stuffed animal thing was in the foreign version and it was just as stupid .. just surrounded by even more stupidity than this one.
I didn't care much for the Dutch version either. 2/3rd of this movie pretty much is the same as the Dutch movie. Same stupid decisions. The bunny...both movies. The daughter in bed with the strange couple...both movies. Them deciding to stay even after these weird encounters. Yes the Dutch ending is different from this ending. We Americans want satisfaction and revenge.
Easily the most infuriating movie I've ever seen! It's actually impressive just how stupid this movie is, I guess I'm even dumber for watching it till the end!
@adamdiesmovies thank you for mentioning the opening scene of the movie of the boy going up on the car drive - I didn't realize the significance of it at the time or how the scenes bookended the movie from his perspective...
Yea, when they went back for the bunny, I WAS DONE! I can look over things when it comes to horror movies. BUT that scene i was rooting for them to die. But we know they wouldn’t happen.
The original ends with them snatching the child right out of the backseat of their car after getting her own tongue removed. The parents do nothing. Then the babysitter drives away the kids and the parents get literally stoned to death while doing nothing. It was just as infuriating as the remake but in a different way.
whilst acknowledging your frustration im going to suggest that that might have been the intended prism for your perspective; i also might suggest seeing it again i think there is more depth than you might be perceiving at first…im certain there is.

How you review movies is so honest I love it lol I too have the same thoughts when watching movies I see it through a cyclical lense most times at this point just because so much garbage has been pumped out last couple years.
I got into a brawl for the first time in years at age 50. This psycho idiot was clearly having a very bad morning and proceeded to kick my car and punch my window. Against my my wife’s wishes of 36yrs I stupidly exited our SUV with the sole purpose of diffusing the situation. I was also wearing my new cast from a broken ankle that happened 3 days prior. What unfolded next was an unexpected exchange of violence that started with his sucker punch that I should have seen coming right there in the Whole Foods parking lot at 10am. When all was done 30 seconds later, my newfound acquaintance was snoring on the ground with an exploded nose and needing several thousand dollars of dental work. My wife and I left the scene of the crime like criminals despite my actions being pure self defense. For the next 48hrs I expected police to show up at my house with multiple charges. Luckily that didn’t happen. What did happen that night and the following days was sex with my wife like we had not experienced in years. She reminded my how I should have stayed in the truck, but how hot it is that she is married to an Alpha Man having dropped some punk 20yrs younger while casted with a broken ankle. I do not advocate violence. But this clown had clearly gotten away with this kind of disrespect before. I hope that our exchange gave him some lifelong wisdom. It also lit a fire within my middle age soul and our marriage. I was lucky he didn’t have a gun or knew how to throw a solid punch. I grew up in Boston and had been in many fights in my youth. Those skills came back to me along with so much more that I thought was gone forever. Being an alpha male could land you in jail or worse, but I am grateful that it is a character trait that may slow down a bit, but will never go away when push comes to shove! My wife and soulmate also agrees! Be careful out there and stay frosty at all times, you never know when you may have to defend yourself or those you love with mortal combat. This unfortunate incident of unexpected violence refueled my soul and my confidence. I wish it had gone down differently without violence, but the end result was a gift that keeps on giving! Next time I will stay in the car and dial 911….maybe!

@@joancampbell7995. They are an American Family. Also, the Boy was strong in character/ courageous to run away and seek help. Very scary premise. Similar story here in the States where a man invited a Mother and her two teenage daughters for a ride out on his boat. He murdered all three.
Hahaha, appreciate that. Good for you for walking away. I have started doing that with streaming shows. If it can't get me on board after an hour, I'm done.
I didn't like the movie; I get the point of the movie. They were just too annoying for me in this remake and of course this American remake had to give the wife her girl power moments, but the husband was still a bit@@. A least the original had a more powerful and realistic ending.

That happened in the (much worse) foreign version.

I agree lol
There were so many moments when I was SCREAMING internally for the family to do something ANYTHING, but they always made the stupidest decisions😂😂😂
The father's character was sooo spineless, wimpy, pathetic, and passive. I enjoyed the wife, children, and other characters though.
If i was a kid and i did that over a toy and my parents wanted to get outta there. I wouldve gotten the belt.
and rightfully so...learning priorities is crucial
