Bigger tank on 533 so good choice for RVs and to keep inside vehicles; Feather 400 is more compact and lighter and better for carrying. 533 is supposed to have higher heat output but they are exactly similar in reality. Generators are the same and pressure mechanism are the same. In my case I believe Feather generates more heat. Honestly these Feather 400s are absolutely relentless.
This is my daily frying stove now I use it almost everyday. I use 12" stainless steal frying pan. For outdoors I have a $20 pots and pans outdoors set.
I’ve owned literally hundreds of Coleman lanterns and stoves. Use to collect them. My favorite camp stove for hiking is my Borde. But I love my Max sievert svea 123 or my Optimus 199. Pick your favorite and use it!!
Well I had to google Brode. Interesting stove. I heard the Svea is a great stove as well. I like my little Coleman. It does what I need it to do very well, and it doesn't have a lot of little pieces that need assembling each time.
I used the Coleman dual fuel stove for years and years. I no longer use this stove Why you may ask. This stove no longer runs well on unleaded gas. The generator running across the top of the stove clogs up when using unleaded gas and cannot adequately be cleaned to bring the stove back to an acceptable level of performance. The generators are expensive. The stove still runs well on white gas only. I never seen this problem addressed.
You are 100% right. Have been using feather 400 (which is not designed for gasoline) for years on Unleaded gasoline and no problem at all, wheras my brand new 533 generator got clogged only after a couple of months of using it. Try finding an older feather 400; those are really great and for some reason less popular which means more available for a better price. Facebook marketplace is a good place to find one. The black one I have I got for $10 and repainted it with a car spray paint haha.
@@outbeckoned I always add 1'2 cup of Gum Out fuel injector to a gallon of Coleman fuel. Never have a problem; and yes I do not believe your stove is hot enough. Try using it with a pot of some kind of liquid on the burner. It will simmer quite well !!
As a proffessional mechanic, I re ommend running sea foam through it and letting it sit for a day. It will dissolve the buildup and you can flush it out.

In my moto camping days I would just take the generator off once every month or two and put it in my reserve fuel canister to soak and vibrate for several hours until time to cook food. Then fish it out with my multitool pliers and let evaporate for a few minutes before reinstalling. Never had an issue. People claim these are bad for your health, but as long as you aren't using it in your tent or hovering over the flame breathing in the fumes, I don't see the problem.

Coleman stoves and similar large stoves like the soviet schmel stoves make so much more sense to me than the dinky micro stoves. These are so quick to get started, and when you include the weight on the necessary 10 oz aluminum bottle the weight difference is 6 oz or less....and 508 or 550 is even less difference. Can't imagine being hunting in -20 or -30 celcius in Canada and pissing around setting up one of those stupid multifuel stoves that take forever to prime the bowl and step up wll the crap.

I would try some brake cleaner on the generator. Take it off and soak it.
