Appreciate any feedback you can share on that aspect - its the only thing preventing me from going with a used Q as my next camera system...but those colors and rendering SOOC are so good!
Thanks so much. This was an older video, glad to see it’s still getting attention. I actually did get dust in my sensor and had to send it to Leica to get it cleaned. I would only notice it shooting stopped down around f/8 and after I got it cleaned I used some gaffer tape to tape the audio input holes. After that I never had a problem with it.
Thanks for sharing, lovely shots! I've bought a Q at the end of 2020, its my everyday camera now and never use my DSLR anymore. No need for more lenses or thinking about which lens to take with me on a shoot. Once I finally made the decision because of the price I've never looked back
Glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase. I honestly would use only this camera if I could get away with it. I like using it as a second camera for weddings, that single card slot will always steer me away from using this camera primarily. I do love this unit so much though
I was curious about this camera but hesitant about the fact that it's fixed focal length was 28mm. Wide angle has a tendency for me to distort the shapes of people's body and faces unless their small in the frame or unless the person really knows how to shoot pictures. But what you showed me with your beautiful photos was that this camera with the 28mm focal length has no problems producing photos of people that are neither distorted or unrealistic looking. Putting aside that you have a great eye, the photos really gave me a great feel for this camera and what it's capable of doing. Street photography is really interesting when you combine it with portraiture and you have managed to excel at shooting 'the decisive moment' with many of your images, while making portraits at the same time. Leica should be thanking you or paying you some kind of commission because your presentation really makes people like me (who are sitting on the fence about the camera....) want to go out and buy it. I bought on impulse the M6 when it first came out just because it represented for me at the time what the Leica Q represents for this day and age. Thanks for the great presentation about the the Leica Q. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks so much for your detailed comment. I wish Leica or Fuji would pay me for the reviews I do 😀 but I don’t think I’m what they’re looking for. I’m glad you see that the 28mm is easily used in portrait scenarios as well as street. One of my favorite documentary cameras.
Forgot to update you...best camera i ever held. Like new,but somehow the lock on the focus ring got jammed, and i cannot manual focus at all anymore. Shame. Not gonna send it over to Wetzlar because i heard it's a whole lens swap and it costs aporox $1600. Sticking to AF and still loving it. Cheers man!
Hi there Hunter. Been watching your videos for a couple of months now. Love your work. I bought a Q not too long ago and love it. Noticed that a lot of the images in this video have a very faded film style look. I was going through your presets on your site and didn’t really see the same type of look. Do you think you’d release a Q version of presets in the future?
Thanks for watching so much. I believe the reason I don’t have type of preset is because although I used one of them, I had to change the look to match the Fuji. I guess if I did the Leica edit first I wouldn’t have that faded look because I would have been editing the Fuji to match the Leica! But yes, I could absolutely make a preset pack for Leica, the colors are quite different than Sony, canon and Nikon. I will respond to this comment when I get it set up! If you have any video idea that you’d like to see, lay it on me. Thanks again for watching.
It does have really good dynamic range but I shoot underexposed so I can pull a little back in post but it really does not take much. Thanks for watching man.
hey hunter, awesome stuff! i guess what i'd like to know is if you've done any editing in post? these shots are superb, makes me wanna quit film and just buy a leica q, to be honest. i love all your photos, this definitely inspired me to go for this gold!
You're and extremely talented photographer. I just came across your channel and I am really enjoying the content you're creating. The sample images all look so great it's nice to see portraits with this camera as it normally just street stuff on youtube. Can i ask if you used any presets when editing as they all look so filmic? Any help would be amazing as I've just won a q on ebay this evening.
I forget this video exists it’s been so long! Hope you like the new content as well! You won it?!! that’s amazing! I love portraits with the 28mm, definitely a favorite of mine. Here’s a link to the presets I use! www.thehunterhart.com/presets/hunter-hart-preset-pack
Fantastic images. Just got myself the 50lux and planning on get the 28cron but thinking if getting the q or q2 is a better option. That way I won’t need to swap out lenses during shoots. Would love to here your thoughts. Stay safe and God bless.
Damn this makes me miss my Q2. There was a reason I owned it twice lol. Do you feel that the 18 1.4 90% fills the void for the Q? I found it much easier to pick up the Q2 over my 18 1.4 .
I think that the fixed lens is really what hooked me on the Q, same with the X100 series. I really love the 18mm 1.4 it’s almost the same feeling to me, if only I had the XPro3 to shoot it with rather than the XT4. I’m a sucker for rangefinder cameras, period. I have a big ass nose and it is annoying pressed up against a screen. Also, the full frame definitely gives your subjects a pop if you’re doing portraiture. All in all I love them both equally honestly. If someone told me I could never shoot one or the other but had to be stuck with one id be fine with either. You can put the 18mm on any Fuji camera forever, can’t do that with the Q. Plus, I have had all the X100 cameras and still rock out my X100V with the WCL to get that 28mm focal length and I use the hell out of it when I’m documenting and needing to be discrete. Thanks for watching! Check out some of my new vids when ya get a chance and hit me on instagram @hunterhartphoto 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I just bought one of these babies in 2024! Retired an M8 lovely as it is, but my somewhat older eyes are having focus patch problems. Think it’ll be my last camera…✌️🇦🇺
It's (one) of the best out there. I sold my Nikon D4s with all the lens for it few years ago. That say... it can't cover everything 28mm is short. Now my son started playing soccer. So... i might buy again another D4s with a 70-200 😅😂
I definitely understand that struggle. It’s a niche item that can’t cover all things, but it can do a lot considering the limitations of a fixed lens. Thanks for watching. I hope your son does well in soccer 🤙🏽.
Do you have a copyright claim and for this reason this video is not monetized? Because I used one of the same songs on your video and this happened to me.
Beautiful images! I just picked up a like new Q with about 3k on the shutter for $2400 USD. No dust in the sensor 😁, did you use any filters on the lens? lol
Sorry I just now saw this. I have a had dust in the past, got it cleaned and then taped off the speaker and the mic and havent had a problem since. Cheers.
It depends on the scenario. Sorry for the delay, you got caught up in the mix somehow. By now you’ve probably made a choice either way. I think the M systems are nice (I wouldn’t recommend the M240 though). I wouldn’t recommend using an M for weddings or headshots, anything that is very important or can’t be shot again (although some people do) I think most of them have a second body with some kind of autofocus. To me the Q is the best camera you can get for the money considering it’s a summilux lens that comes with a free body, Auto focus, the ability to switch your lens into an intuitive manual mode, and plus you can see what’s going on through the evf. I’m a huge fan of the Q but also a good fan of the M, I just find myself missing more with the M and that’s the only thing that annoys me.
I have had a dust issue, this was prior to me knowing that you could just put black tape over the mic and the speaker. I had mine sent off to be cleaned shorty after. After this trick I have not had any problems (I was also shooting in very dusty areas and beaches)
Finally! A Q shooter with soul. Loved every frame.

Awesome pics.
Thanks man!
Absolutely incredible
Thanks Bryan, and thanks for watching
Wonderful images
Hey thanks so much I appreciate it
WELL DONE!!! AWESOME PHOTOS!
Hey! I appreciate you watching. Thanks for the compliment
Man this makes me want to buy a Q again. Excellent photography, kudos !
Thank you so much. Why did ya get rid of yours?
@@hunterhart1 I bought an M9 and an M240 which I now use with a 28mm Elmarit. But the Q has its own benefits!
Great photography !
Thank you so much
Gorgeous review, simple and sweet. Love the sample pics, gonna pick up a qp next week 😎
Man I wish I had the QP. Such a good looking camera. Thanks for watching
Cheers man!
Looking for my Q-P now lol. Wow great pics my friend.
Ahhh nice camera man, love the way the QP looks
Great photos! Love them!
Thank you so much
What neck strap are you using? Can i get the name or link? Thanks in advance
It’s a rope strap off of Amazon actually. I use them on all of my cameras
@@hunterhart1 thank you so much!!
I really like your videos and will continue to visit often. Of course 👍
Thank you very much
great photos 👍
Bravo 👏
Wonderful snaps buddy
Thank you!
Great pictures 👍
Thanks so much
You sold me to buy this camera. One more month of saving up and i can get a used one :D
That is awesome. I am putting up a video with it compared to the x100v this week!
It changed from Leica to an emotional story, we need township street photography, awesome.
story told.
Thank you for watching. I wish I could get some township street photog also
Gorgeous photos! 😍😍 Can I ask what you filmed this video with as well?
Thanks so much! It was filmed on the A7iii
Another great video. Preferred focal length aside, which one do you like more, this or the x100v?
So they both have a soft spot in my heart. As far as the final product I like the Leica more, usability however would this the X100V
Does it naturally have such good dynamic range in low light? Or did you have to bring it back in post?
Thank help me make up my mind.
Glad I could help
Fantastic images. Just got myself the 50lux and planning on get the 28cron but thinking if getting the q or q2 is a better option. That way I won’t need to swap out lenses during shoots. Would love to here your thoughts. Stay safe and God bless.
Thanks for stopping by.
Considering the cost of a 28mm alone is close to the camera itself with it attached already, I’d go for the Leica Q 100%
@@hunterhart1 yup that was I thinking. Thank you 👍🏻
I like !
Excellent
Thank you very much for watching
Check out some of my new vids when ya get a chance and hit me on instagram @hunterhartphoto 🙏🏼🙏🏼
wow
beautiful photos with a decisive moment
love your photo much more than the Q ❤
🙏🏼🙏🏼
I just bought one of these babies in 2024! Retired an M8 lovely as it is, but my somewhat older eyes are having focus patch problems. Think it’ll be my last camera…✌️🇦🇺
I am sure it will serve you well!
You are very talented
Thank you, that means a lot!
@@hunterhart1 Yeah, he have some belgian blood in him 😂
Beautiful images from a talented photographer. Were all your shots taken at 28mm or some in cropped mode?
None were cropped in. Thanks so much man.
Do you have a copyright claim and for this reason this video is not monetized? Because I used one of the same songs on your video and this happened to me.
Hello can you please reply?
Hey, I paid for my music through Epidemic Sound, it is licensed.
What strap do you use? I like!

Here ya go!
Do you think the Q is still worth in 2024? or Go for the Q2 for the value for money?
I’d personally go Q2. The Q is going to be great but the Q2 is definitely a step up in functionality and technology.
Is it a fixed lens?
It sure is
Beautiful images!
Cheers.
Are the photos edited or straight out of camera? just curious
They are edited, the presets I use are in the description! Are you using the Leica Q? Thanks for watching!
If you HAD to choose: your Leica M or the Q?
Ничего не скажу про саму Лейку, но фото просто невероятные! Получил огромное удовольствие от снимков!
So Leica Q also has AF ?
Yea it does
@@hunterhart1 well… someone is buying a leica q in a month lol
@@ericmorales1934 heck yeah , great cameras
Ever had a dust issue with your Q? This thing sort of keeps me from buying it, and I have a perfect offer of buying a brand new Q…
I have had a dust issue, this was prior to me knowing that you could just put black tape over the mic and the speaker. I had mine sent off to be cleaned shorty after. After this trick I have not had any problems (I was also shooting in very dusty areas and beaches)
