I always like watching these videos, I am in charge of the pool where I live and after someone (being me) broke a part of the pump because they left the filter on backwash......we had a green pool and thanks to your steps/suggestions i was able to bring it back to normal over a 3 day period. Just wana say thanks again
I used yellowgone with 2 shocks for day one running my pump the entire time without the vacuum attachement. after 12 hours I added 2 gallons of chlorine after another 12 hours added 2 gallons of chlorine (pump and vacuum on the entire time. since I don't have a vacuum to waste option I had done a backwash every time the suction went over 20. Day 3 another 2 gallons of chlorine and my pool is crystal clear again thanks!!
I am on the low end of the scale. Usually $300 or less. I just did one. for a recently divorced lady for $240. You can see that pool in the Hayward filter cleaning I just posted last week. Most guys charge $300 - $350. It is a lot of work.
Looking to buy either a foreclose or short sale home Im glad zi found your channel was cracking my head asking my self how in the world can I do this my self. I don't have to crack my head any more with your channel. Thanks again! For sharing.
I would add 4-6 gallons of liquid chlorine just to be sure you are getting chlorine into the water. Shock products vary in strength. Liquid chlorine is usually 10% to 12% in product strength. Add some more conditioner to the pool also, it sounds a little low. I think you need more chlorine in the pool. Test it Friday after adding the liquid to see if it holds a good level. You want it at 10 ppm or higher right now to kill the organics in the water.
Do you have a canister that hooks up to the vacuum hose - if not you need one that way pump basket won't get clogged up. Try using a leaf rake on the bottom first to get the debris out, this will stir things up but it will settle back down in a few hours. After you skim the debris out try vacuuming again in waste with a canister attached.
Thanks again. Spider gasket is ok, when I put multiport back together and started system in Filter mode, it primed quickly. I then switched to Waste mode - no vacuum hose - and it primed in 30 seconds and ran great for 10 min until I shut it off because pool was getting low on water. Hose vacuums great in Filter mode, so I don't think it's the hose. But in Waste, I got air when hose attached. There is a slow drip in a spot where it doesn't look like any way to remove pipe - pipe too short.
There must be a slight vacuum leak in your system. Do you notice any water leaking around the pump near the pipes. That is the only thing I can think of. I think it uses more pressure to vacuum in waste mode so any air getting in will cause it. Again, this is just an educated guess here.
Does the pump turn on at all? Have you tried sticking a garden hose in the skimmer and wrapping a t-shirt or rag around it to seal it off and then turning the hose on - or use a drain bladder?
I have had several of my pools with algae. Can you create a video (if you haven’t already) showing how to program the timers to 24 hours. From Pentair to Haywards etc…..thank you.
Sorry, saw your PM also but was out all weekend. I prefer liquid chlorine and if it is not feasible (has a short shelf life of maybe a few months) then get Dichlor granular 99% active ingredient. Leslie's brand is good. They also have a good Trichlor shock at Leslie's. Just don't let them talk you into buying the whole store when you walk out ;) Go in there with a list and stick to it. They are masters at upselling...
Flocking is meant for what? And do I apply it the day before I decide to vacum? Or a day before I do a filter clean? Please help me understand. Thank you.
I have a video in my "Pump Not Working Playlist" on the impeller and diffuser. I show you how to remove the impeller in that video. Sounds like the pump seal is leaking but that wouldn't be large enough to cause the motor not to prime. If it is the housing gasket that would cause this. Is the water leaking out right where the pump & motor come together or does it look like it is leaking from under the motor? The latter would be the pump seal.
I tried this, it works. I added a little more than yellow out and shock than i had to, to be on the safe side. Cloudiness is the only issue afterwards, but algae is completely gone. Clarifier after and it gets clear.
Wow, took a while. Got everything running, followed your instructions for YellowOut, worked well. Vacuumed on Filter setting, had so much crud on bottom, filled skimmer basket in 30 seconds. Set Pentair Multiport for Waste. Ran for 2 minutes, then got air in system, tried everything you suggested to get air out, kept happening on Waste. Can get air out in Filter position, but it takes 15 minutes. With basket filling every 30 seconds, not practical to use Filter position. Any suggestions?
The only time I did extensive tile cleaning was when I first started in the field. What I usually do if I don't know the price for the job is call a few pool companies & "pretend" to be the customer asking for service. That way I can get an accurate range for pricing. I did that for the Acid Wash video since it had been years since I actually bid an Acid Wash. I just don't do those anymore due to the strong chemicals but I wanted to film one. I am very chemically sensitive & limit my exposure.
Funny, that is a spare motor that was slapped on since the 1 yr and 4 month old one came apart (literally broke apart around the shaft). This customer had bad luck with motors. Having his original one rebuilt - pool was down for awhile, hence the green pool. Worked out good, allowed me to film a new video ;)
Sorry - I missed your post here. Sounds like the filter elements are going bad. If it is a cartridge filter try an acid wash of the cartridges. for D.E. I would just replace the grids if they are 5 years or older.
Yes the pump turns on. I got a bladder, an used it from the pump skimmer basket towards the pool, still had air. Used it from pool skimmer towards pump, the line got about half full, and I could hear water circulating through pipes and filter. Turned on motor, still not primed. 2nd time I turned it on, water began to leak between motor and impeller. Impeller and parts are brand new with new motor. Can't get impeller off, afraid of breaking it if I hammer or pry it off.
Question: have you use a product called “green aid” aka Green to Clean for green algae pools? If so or have not, do you backwash the filter first before cleaning the grids or cartridge. And then again before adding DE? I have a new client who informed me that she has green algae in her pool and she hasn’t had any maintenance done in 7 months or more. So I want to get this product but need to know how to use it. Any advise? …….
I followed your direction on spring opening of the pool and it worked great; green is gone. However there was much turbidity due to sand on the bottom of the pool. This was my problem last season and we tried to remove as much sand as possible but it didn't work with any measurable success. My question is how to get this sand out of the pool with out ruining the pump, filter stem, of vacuum?
Thanks for the video, it has been a great help. I have following your sterps, but my pool is not clear yet, do you think it would be ok to repest the process to get it clear? thanks
When all is said and done try using pool 1st aid as a natural clarifier which also helps break down and greatly reduce pollen which can create algae problems. Another really great product to try is pool perfect plus phos free. This product is a miracle worker when it comes to preventing algae from ever growing in your pool as well as keeping the filter clean so it's less work that you would otherwise have to deal with.
Yes. Just hose down the filter before and then again after the Yellow out treatment. On a Cartridge filter there is no backwash valve so you can't vacuum to "Waste." That is a pretty small pool so I expect good results for you. Let me know how it turns out.
Okay, I managed to break the impeller getting it off, and found the pump seal was damaged, too, so we'll have to order those, probably take a week to get them. Thanks for the video, I'm sure I also touched the ceramic on the pump seal when I 1st put it in, and I had it in backwards, too, didn't have instructions til now, wish I had found you sooner :( Hopefully that will take care of the leak and I can get back to you on priming.
Hey boss, if I’m unable to remove the bottom drain cap from the filter tank (for a filter clean) can I start the motor to rinse off the DE? Just like what you did for a Pentair 2000 series.
Sorry I'm confused! To have the algae at the bottom just let the yellow out whit chlorine stay one day and then run the filter or whit the two things added to the pool run the filter one day and then wait until is at the bottom?
I have a huge problem with yellow/ greenish algea and have tried everything. It's a new pool, less than a year old....Ive read comments that you are in Southern California. I'm located San Dimas , California and wondering if you are taking on any new clients??!? I would greatly appreciate your help restoring pool back to normal
Hi, thanks for your videos. I've learned a lot. I'm trying to clear my green pool and I was wondering about possible issues with turning on the pump for 24 hrs. The reason is I just cleaned the filter and within 4.5 hrs, the pressure went from 10 to 30. Would it be safe for the pump and filter to leave it on for 24hrs since the pressure might keep getting higher? Also, I tried scrubbing the pool but certain parts will no longer come off. Would pouring yellow out or shock directly on top of that solve it? Thanks in advance.
Thank you SO much. im going to get this process started tomorrow (5/12) im having a party next week (5/18) and im hoping to have it cleared up by then. Can I buy all these products at Leslies pool supply?
First time pool owner with green pool after large party. Shocked one day, shocked the next, nothing happened. I just put clarifier in and yellow eliminator at the same time. Probably shouldn’t have done that but should I shock again today? Three days in a row? I don’t have liquid chlorine. The pool manufacturer said not to use it. The pool is white fiberglass. Would it be fine to use? We just used a bag each time for a 9500 gallon pool?
Those are metal stains and some organic stains. This pool has turned green a few time over the years as the owner is gone for months at a time to China and I have to wait until he returns to get approval for work - so when the pump dies the pool turns green. Draining the pool and Acid Washing it will remove most of the stains. That is your best bet.
Do you do all your videos one-handed, or do you have a helmet cam? Love all your videos, btw. You've been a big help to me as I just bought a foreclosure with an inground pool.
i going to try this steps on my pool is about 1800 gallons i hope it works i put some phosphate free but did not work i hope this work because i dont want to draing my pool.
It's leaking right at the motor, between the Seal Plate and the Motor, not between the Seal Plate and the Skimmer Basket housing. I will check your video. THANK YOU so much for your help!!!! I will be in touch.
The bottom of my pool (foreclosure and was uncovered for 2 yrs) looks similar to the bottom of this pool after you vacuumed it at about 9:33 mark on the video. How do you fix that? Are those metal stains? Pitting?
We want to use your Yellow Out treatment, but we can't get the pump primed. The motor went bad 2 years ago, and we could only now afford to replace it. The water is much greener than the pool in your video, and has frogs and mosquitos living in it. I have watched other videos on how to prime the pump, how to check for air leaks, and nothing they suggested works. It's a 33,000 gallon with a Pentair Whisperflo pump system and a Jandy salt water chlorinator. And a heat pump. Please help.
My clients pool has major algae (green) and her pool has been neglected for 7 months or longer.. So my question too you is this, can I pour in 2 cases of chlorine and 7 bags of salt to get the chlorine level really high? Or is that too much? Her ph was high…beyond 8.4 Cya below 30. So how can I get rid of it? Also, how much do you charge clients who have green algae? I know this video is years old, but do you still follow these procedures or do you use other chemicals?
If the pool was very green like in this video 1 bag of shock will do nothing. You will need at least a few bags of shock or 4 gallons of liquid chlorine. If the pool started to clear and then the chlorine zeroed out yellow algae could form. The algaecides that I use are for both Yellow and Green Algae. Yellow Out works on both too. Yellow Out is a chlorine enhancer so you will need a lot of chlorine for it to work. To little chlorine and it will do nothing.
Correction to previous post: When in Waste mode, I took out the skimmer basket that's next to the filter. As far as I can tell, in Waste mode, the filter is bypassed. This seemed to allow the crud (leaves, twigs, dead algae) to go straight through the pipes to the backwash hose. But as I said, it worked really well for 2 minutes, then air got in, and I had to switch to Filter mode and prime the pump. This happened at least 6 times. So, in Waste mode I'm getting air in the system. Help! :)
After you add the yellow out, waited your 5 minutes and added your liquid chlorine shock, do you run your pump with the main drain open only or both the skimmer and main drain open?
@@SPL thanks, the back of the yellow out bottle states to run the main drain only if possible. Have you tried it that way before? Or see a difference if you run main drain only or skimmer and drain at the same time?
I tested my pool before beginning the Yellow Out process. PH level is high 8.2...which is good. But chlorine level is high as well...5.0. Should I wait until chlorine levels out at normal level? Or can I proceed with Yellow Out?
I told you I'm as mechanical as a snail, LOL. That's a good idea, I will try it, never occurred to me and my non-mechanical brain :D Again, my thanks, and God bless you for the time you give all of us out here. I have watched several of your videos, very, very helpful. It's nice to come across someone with a servant's heart, who gives freely. I'll keep you posted.
i have an above ground vinyl pool, and just got my vacuum that runs off the filter pump...why does everything i vacuum up get shot right back into the pool? ive tried 2 different brand new filters!
I hold the camera in one hand which sometimes is not the best. I haven't researched helmet cams in depth but from what I researched they can be hard to aim accurately and the sound is sometimes distorted. I use a Samsung HMX-W300 Pocket Camcorder which I got for $99.00. It works well enough. Thanks for the positive comment!
@@SPL Thank you. I figured that’s the direction I’d have to go in. I’m on my 4the cleaning of the DE Grids. I’ve seen major improvements but man it’s been a rough battle.
Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 Fiberglass pool with a single cartridge filter. I bought a new filter a few days ago, ran the pump over night, cleaned the filter which was not very dirty. Then did the Yellow Out and Shock treatment. Pool looks the same. My chlorine level is 2.0 my PH is 6.8 and TA is 30 at the moment.
For whatever reason it sounds like the pump is not pulling water at a good flow rate. If only the bottom 1/4th of the cartridge is dirty then the filter is not filling with water. Do you notice your pump running slowly? With no filtration pool can't clear up.
I know this is a late reply but hopefully it'll help other people too. Killing algae with chlorine/G2C/YO requires a higher pH and TA. If you have it too low, it will NOT work.
I have a pool that is green and has not worked right in 7 Years. The filter is way to small and needs to be replaced. What filter is best for a 20000 pool?
Depends on your area. Lots of dust and dirt go with a 48 sq ft DE filter. I like Pentair's 4000 series. It cost about $850.00. If you live in an area where is not extremely dusty a Cartridge filter will do fine. A Pentair 320 sq ft filter will suffice. cost about $700.00
It seems to me that shock is an oxidizing agent. Is there a reason something like Oxiclean cant be used either instead of on in addition to chlorine shock?
+Bob Ash I like using Oxidizers once the algae is dead. They are more effective with cloudy water vs. Algae in my opinion. Chlorine is your best bet in a pool with algae.
Hi... We've tried everything to clean our green pool. The filter is running properly and is clean, we've changed the sand in it as well, all the chemicals are reading perfectly.... We even had a pool company test the water and they said it was fine yet its swamp green. We've completed algae treatments just to be on the safe side... We believe this is caused from metal; however, we've used metal free to clear it up and that didn't work either. Any suggestions?
Try a see you later pack. They can be bought to treat metals at 1 ppm and 4 ppm. After you did the metal out did you backwash/clean the filter a week after adding it? Metal out treatments suspend the metals so that the can be filtered out. If you have not cleaned or backwashed since you added the metal out then you have not physically removed the metals from the pool. A see you later pack can be added to the skimmer for the 1 ppm and to the pump basket for the up to 4 ppm. You wanna leave the pack in for 30 days then removed otherwise it can disentigrate and put the metals collected into it right back into the pool.
It depends. If the water temp is above 70 degrees it might turn cloudy in a few days. Cold water tends not to turn. If the pool has heavy use it will turn cloudy that same day.
The filter is probably clogged up. You won't be able to vacuum until the pool is clear and the algea has turned to a dust form. Some exceptions are a filter with a multiport valve - in that case you can vacuum on "waste mode"
So I'm curious? Another Pool expert but a very big following on UA-cam as well just took the filter out completely for 24 hours and let it run like that how come you wouldn't just do that with this pool?
how do you clear up a green pool that turned green due to a combination of copper and high chlorine, the algae seems to be dead but the water turned green. I believe due to using a copper algecide
You will need to invest in a Metal Sequestering Agent and a CuLator Metal eliminator Unit. The larger one wroks better. This will take all the Copper out of the water. Then it should be blue again.
This is not a good product. It is loaded with conditioner - more so than the normal dichlor granular. It is pretty weak as far as available chlorine and will make your pool cloudy. I even called Aqua Chem and tried to find out exactly how much conditioner/stabilizer was in the product and they claimed "trade secrets" on me. Would not tell me the amount of conditioner. You can assume there is a lot. Not sure why Costco carries is as there are much better products out there.
I always like watching these videos, I am in charge of the pool where I live and after someone (being me) broke a part of the pump because they left the filter on backwash......we had a green pool and thanks to your steps/suggestions i was able to bring it back to normal over a 3 day period. I always come back to this video when my pool ends up green and these steps work everytime! Thanks!
What liquid chlorine did you use?
How big of a pool
I'd like to know also
I am on the low end of the scale. Usually $300 or less. I just did one. for a recently divorced lady for $240. You can see that pool in the Hayward filter cleaning I just posted last week. Most guys charge $300 - $350. It is a lot of work.

Another great video, learning a lot on how to maintain my pool, I'm new to pool ownership and feel confidant in what to do now.
Have you tried sticking a garden hose in the skimmer and wrapping a t-shirt or rag around it to seal it off and then turning the hose on - or use a drain bladder?
yes. they carry Yellow Out but I am not sure about the Clarifier - but they should have alternate brands.

I tried this, it works. I added a little more than yellow out and shock than i had to, to be on the safe side. Cloudiness is the only issue afterwards, but algae is completely gone. Clarifier after and it gets clear.

The bottom of my pool (foreclosure and was uncovered for 2 yrs) looks similar to the bottom of this pool after you vacuumed it at about 9:33 mark on the video. How do you fix that? Are those metal stains? Pitting?
What type and size filter do you have? And is your pool green right now?
We want to use your Yellow Out treatment, but we can't get the pump primed. The motor went bad 2 years ago, and we could only now afford to replace it. The water is much greener than the pool in your video, and has frogs and mosquitos living in it.
I have watched other videos on how to prime the pump, how to check for air leaks, and nothing they suggested works.
It's a 33,000 gallon with a Pentair Whisperflo pump system and a Jandy salt water chlorinator. And a heat pump.
Please help.
What was that power you added to the skimmer at the beginning of video. I don't think you said what I was. Thanks.
To shock the pool, can I use tabs instead? Or do I have to use the shock bag?
Shock bags. Tabs dissolve too slow.
My clients pool has major algae (green) and her pool has been neglected for 7 months or longer..
So my question too you is this, can I pour in 2 cases of chlorine and 7 bags of salt to get the chlorine level really high? Or is that too much?
Her ph was high…beyond 8.4
Cya below 30.
So how can I get rid of it?
Also, how much do you charge clients who have green algae?
I know this video is years old, but do you still follow these procedures or do you use other chemicals?

Can you please do a video on nitrates and nitrate removal
With nitrates you need to drain the pool. A video on nitrates is not a bad idea.
Do you have to balance the water before you do this treatment? Or just afterwards?
Just lower the pH to 7.4 and you are good to start.
Why don't you wrap that area with a plastic bag or electric tape to see if you can seal it. That may be what is causing air in "waste mode".
So I’ve seen other videos that say algaecides are pointless, you have to kill the source “phosphates” with a good phos remover???
Correction to previous post: When in Waste mode, I took out the skimmer basket that's next to the filter. As far as I can tell, in Waste mode, the filter is bypassed. This seemed to allow the crud (leaves, twigs, dead algae) to go straight through the pipes to the backwash hose. But as I said, it worked really well for 2 minutes, then air got in, and I had to switch to Filter mode and prime the pump. This happened at least 6 times. So, in Waste mode I'm getting air in the system. Help! :)
Have you not yet made a Video on Calcium Hardness? Let me know, I'll watch. It seems my CH has gone from 250 - 100 in 2 weeks. Why? Thanks.
After you add the yellow out, waited your 5 minutes and added your liquid chlorine shock, do you run your pump with the main drain open only or both the skimmer and main drain open?
You can have both open but the skimmer suction is usually enough.
Is actually better if chlorine level is higher
I told you I'm as mechanical as a snail, LOL. That's a good idea, I will try it, never occurred to me and my non-mechanical brain :D Again, my thanks, and God bless you for the time you give all of us out here. I have watched several of your videos, very, very helpful. It's nice to come across someone with a servant's heart, who gives freely. I'll keep you posted.
It's seems this is similar to a product called "Yellow Gone", but it is a little cheaper-Is Yellow out as good?
Same product I think, just made for Walmart and other retail stores.
What is the strength on your liquid chlorine?
What brand of shock do you like best.
Do you not recommend using the shock extra blue from aqua chem at all is this not a good product?
i have an above ground vinyl pool, and just got my vacuum that runs off the filter pump...why does everything i vacuum up get shot right back into the pool? ive tried 2 different brand new filters!
Will Yellow Out work with a non-chlorine shock such as Swimway Blast? Blast is 100% Potassium Monopersulfate.
No. You need to use a chlorine product.
Very good. Thank you!
Does old plaster contribute to algae problems?
Sometimes. Especially if it is cracked or rough.
I have one posted on my Channel in "Balancing Your Pool Water Playlist"
I hold the camera in one hand which sometimes is not the best. I haven't researched helmet cams in depth but from what I researched they can be hard to aim accurately and the sound is sometimes distorted. I use a Samsung HMX-W300 Pocket Camcorder which I got for $99.00. It works well enough. Thanks for the positive comment!
do i need to balance the green pool before i start this process?
No. Just make sure the pH is above 7.8 - which it should be in most cases.
tried it and works great thankx for posting your awesome.
Are these steps good for salt water pools?
Yes, will work the same
Any recommendations if I can’t vacuum to waste?
A portable clan-up pump is your best option.
@@SPL Thank you. I figured that’s the direction I’d have to go in. I’m on my 4the cleaning of the DE Grids. I’ve seen major improvements but man it’s been a rough battle.
I followed all the steps and still have a green pool. Any recommendations?
mvm3897 what type of pump and filter do you have? And did the treatment do anything or does the pool look the same?
Good to hear. Sounds like your getting a handle on it now.
1589amanda Maybe send me some photos. You can e-mail directly to davidginavb7@gmail.com
The directions call calicumhypoclorite, not liquid.
What's the difference between using Green and clean and Yellow out?
If I am not mistaken they are both the same except for the labeling
Any recommendations on cyanuric acid high in pool
Drain 50% of water and refill
thanks again ill do it
How long do u think a pool or hot tub is at a zero reading brefore it starts tuning cloudy?
It depends. If the water temp is above 70 degrees it might turn cloudy in a few days. Cold water tends not to turn. If the pool has heavy use it will turn cloudy that same day.
ok
Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 can i shock my pool and use yellow out around 60-70 degrees f
I can use this for mustard..I have a 5100 gallon pool .how much do I need
I would use Yellow Treat or Yellow Trine for that - not great success using it for mustard myself.
@@SPL I just got yellow treat yesterday. Fingers crossed it works this stuff driving me nuts.
When adding yellow out and then shock, I noticed the pool is not circulating. Is this fine or do I need to run the pump when adding?
+Bob Ash You can add it with the pump off. Just be sure to run the pump as long as possible once you add everything. 24 hours is best.
also used Yellow Gone (2 lbs) then Leslie power Powder Plus 5 min later and marvelous results stopped all algae growth in corners etc.
Question: my pool is green and I tried to hook up a vacuum to the skimmer but I’m not getting any suction, what is a possible problem?
The filter is probably clogged up. You won't be able to vacuum until the pool is clear and the algea has turned to a dust form. Some exceptions are a filter with a multiport valve - in that case you can vacuum on "waste mode"
What happens if you use chlorine before yellow out
Nothing will happen.
My bottle of yellow out say 3 level tablespoons to every 10,000. gal of pool water. Can that be right.
I have one in my garage - will have to look at it.
open the pressure value before you loosin clamp
obviously make sure pump is off
Will Black Algae ever grow on a pool with a vinyl liner?
Andrew Habib Probably not - if you see algae that looks like black algae it is probably green algae.
I have watched your videos: cleaning a green pool using Yellow Trine and also using YellowOut...which method is better overall?
Yellowtrine is more effective in my opinion.
Thank you..
I have colored plaster..does yellow trine need to be disolved in water first to prevent discoloration.?
no. will not stain plaster.
Thanks...I followed your Yellow Trine video and I already see a big difference in just a little over an hour...love your videos...you're awesome...
So I'm curious? Another Pool expert but a very big following on UA-cam as well just took the filter out completely for 24 hours and let it run like that how come you wouldn't just do that with this pool?
No need to do that. Better if the filter picks up the algae. Then you simply clean the filter.
Can you micro dose yellow out.
I've never been successful with doing that. Not sure why but small doses seem ineffective.
thanks
How much do you charge for a green to clean?
Depends on the size. Typically $400
What is the robot you have in at the end?
It a Zodiac G2 I think. If you like it you may want to check out the Zodiac Ranger.
how do you clear up a green pool that turned green due to a combination of copper and high chlorine, the algae seems to be dead but the water turned green. I believe due to using a copper algecide
You will need to invest in a Metal Sequestering Agent and a CuLator Metal eliminator Unit. The larger one wroks better. This will take all the Copper out of the water. Then it should be blue again.
thanks, I learned a good lesson to be careful using a copper algecide
This is not a good product. It is loaded with conditioner - more so than the normal dichlor granular. It is pretty weak as far as available chlorine and will make your pool cloudy. I even called Aqua Chem and tried to find out exactly how much conditioner/stabilizer was in the product and they claimed "trade secrets" on me. Would not tell me the amount of conditioner. You can assume there is a lot. Not sure why Costco carries is as there are much better products out there.
