Remarkable achievement by Chance to come back from where he was. From the legendary high school career to the depths of addiction back to the top of USA wrestling. What a story.
Yeah, sounds like something out of vision quest
So Marsteller had to essentially win 3 in a row against JB to make the team... that is extremely impressive!
It’s good to see Chance be great at wrestling again many thought he’d never recover from that OKST debacle. To comeback from so much adversity hitting rock bottom to reaching the top once again knocking off one of the best to ever do it congrats to you
Much respect to the goat, but this was an all time screw job! Chance won that shit.
100% agree
If any of you lost a high profile match on an illegal gesture, you'd definitely challenge it too, so sit down and stfu.
He broke the rules. Every wrestler knows you can't pull on your opponent's singlet. Got drilled into my head when I was 9 years old. I agree that it's a lame way for the match to end, but it's not a screw job. Don't break rules that everybody knows. It's not some obscure rule.
@@magicalfrijoles6766 that’s true as well but he challenged it after match he didn’t even protest it when it happened ?

He's a 6 time world champ. How tf is he a bad wrestler?@@theedwardian
For those wondering.. the singlet pull happens with :15 remaining on the clock. Chances left hand grabs the singlet on JB's right thigh.
You’re absolutely correct it did happen around the 15 second mark with his left hand. The sad part is, it didn’t prevent a takedown.
@@Detroiter4ever001 it prevented a potential go behind

Eye pokes and headbutts are fine but a grab of a singlet gets a point??? Give me a break. Chance won that match.
Exactly. Finally, someone with sense. He fucking did that in every single Final X match even when he wrestled Dake.
Rules are rules man. I hate to put it this way because Chance was definitely going to win this one without the singlet grab. Unfortunately it happened. However, I am scratching my head about the challenge being allowed to go that far back in time. And shouldn’t they have put time back on the clock?

He knew the rules, very well executed. This was a great head to head match, salute to both competitors!
Too bad the refs didn’t know the rules.
Well Chance beat him twice after this. Honestly probably made him wrestle harder. Go Chance!
Chance won that match. It was a well deserved victory that was stolen from him. The less the officials insert themselves the better. Let them wrestle, this is such an absurd call, to overturn the winner of a match based on something that had literally zero impact on the match is absurd… honestly seems like a bit of corruption or favoritism.
The refs had nothing to do with it! They wrestled, and Chance grabbed the singlet. I agree that Chance had that won, except for a small mistake
He didn't win! He cheated
12:03 Chance has a handful of Jordan’s singlet if he didn’t grab it Jordan was spinning around for the takedown. If it was the other way around you would be crying foul. Your boy lost
Wrong. Grabbing the singlet is against the rules bud. Everyone knows that. In a perfectly officiated match he gets caught instantly for being a cheater and loses.
You have to understand all these JB Cucks would happily hand over their daughters or wives if JB told them to. White American men worship blacks.
While I understand the criticism, I don’t get people calling JB a crybaby. He called for a brick calm, cool, and collected, and what do you know it worked in his favor. Is it a crappy way to win/lose? Sure, but rules are rules imo

“rules are rules”
People keep saying this but his challenge was against the rules. Either he didn’t know the rules on challenges and broke them or he did know the rules on challenges and broke them. You tell me which is worse.
Politics! Like my cuz said, Taylor’s singlet was ripped in the Olympic finals against Iran. No called was made. And I still didn’t see it in this match
A call should have been made, lets just stop calling the rules since it would have helped this match, is that what you are saying?

At the beginning of the video, “if there is a rule, Marsteller will use it to his advantage.” End of the match: JB calls him out for a rule violation…Karma? Marsreller held on because he felt the pressure from JB, definitely affected momentum.
It didn’t stop anything. It was a slight mistake that was unavoidable. This is a obvious portray of a lack of nobility from the wrestling community
What about JB’s violation of the rules by challenging too late? You don’t have a problem with that?
JB won on a technicality and the singlet grab didn’t prevent anything so great wrestling by Chance and should have got the win
All wins are on a technicality. You technically win, if you have more points, you technically win, if you have criteria. Crying about what is technical does not help you with your point. Winning is winning. If chance had a lapse in judgement, and gave up a takedown, that would be a win on a technicality. It might not be a skill thing, but matches are matches, end of story.
I've been in matches where the singlet was grabbed and they still granted a point though it didn't prevent any point being scored so it's fair that they made that call
@@energysurgefitness1738 It actually isn’t fair that they made the call. The challenge was too late according to the rules. Otherwise, Chance would’ve at least had an opportunity to score 1 point for a win.

Love the replays after the scoring maneuvers, very cool!
I am not a skilled wrestler, nor do I have a great grasp on the rules. It is always sad to see some one win or lose because of something like this, no matter what sport it is.
When Chance does the singlet you can see clearly how Jordan reacts to it. Great call great victory!
That’s ridiculous!
They should atleast be able to have another start with 15 sec left or whatever was left at the time of the caution.
I dont understand what happen can someone please explain?
I mean, i get it but, that's not a good feeling win at all. The single pull was not only barely noticeable but, didn't effect a real scoring attempt either. I know there's no sudden death in freestyle but would have felt more fair if they wrestled off for it.
Chance is a tank, with deceiving quickness. I really like the guy. JB is so good. Even when he loses its like "Ok, but if they wrestled 4 times in a row" lol. No who knows, Chance is so good. Thats why i love this sport, its ever evolving. Some guys just hit some insane strides at random points, and look unstoppable. Great match..OOo...lol now i see, i thought this was the final that Chance won. Now i know what lit the fire lol.
To be fair Jordan had to wrestle in those positions calling a brick would be conceiving defeat. Great match though wish it ended more decisively
JB was in a perfect position to ask for the brick immediately after the infraction, which is required by the rules.
When’d they do away with push out points
I wish the stream was better. Mine kept freezing and glitching all afternoon
Crazy match
The better wrestler won 2 out of 3. JB has had an awesome career, but Chance was better today.
When did the singlet grab happen
To be fair, if they are going to make that call, they need to put reset time to when it first occurred. It just seems wrong giving someone the go-ahead point after the match when the foul occurred during the match.
Can we see the film🤔
Bunch of people mad at JB. Be mad at the rules. All JB did was call out an illegal move. Chance knows he can't pull singlets. I agree it's not how we want these matches to go, but stop hating on JB. He didn't do anything wrong.
The challenge was in violation of the rules. JB chose to continue to wrestle the last 15 seconds instead of challenging, which would’ve given Chance an opportunity to score.
Facts and why was Chance putting his hand near Jordans junk anyways? Kind of looked intentional to me not gonna lie but I’ve never wrestled so idk.
@@rogerdodger4212 Someone mentioned that he challenged it right after a break in action which makes sense. I don’t think Jordan can stop the match himself and challenge it or maybe he can idk I’m new don’t roast me😂

At least this controversy is now moot since Chance won the next two matches. Congratulations to him for outwrestling the GOAT in three straight matches.
Let’s go jourdan!!!
Man JB has got to be ashamed of himself for crying about a singlet pull that had literally had ZERO noticeable impact based on the action that I saw at the end of the match…..hate to see Chance take an L when he clearly wrestled well enough to earn the win. 🤯 🤦♂️ If it was a blatant singlet pull which affected the outcome that’s one thing, but until I see the slow-mo replay I gotta say that JB stole this win from Chance.
Fr and JB isn’t even going to speak on it I swear he’s gonna act like he won this match he’s the goat but this was plain out wrong

He isn't out of his prime, Marsteller just had a good game plan that neutralized Burroughs attack.
JB's hand fighting has always been extremely dirty.
Why are 15 seconds not put back on the clock when the infraction happened? It changes the outcome of the match with no recourse.
The challenge shouldn’t have been allowed at all. They challenged too late. Putting 15 seconds on the clock might be the best middle ground though.
@Roger Dodger do you actually know the amount of time allowed to challenge a call as stated in the rule book?
@@christopherroth7239 Yes, do you?
@Roger Dodger I do not. I was asking you as I saw you mention it was too late numerous times but you never mentioned what the rule specifically says. What is the time limit?
@@christopherroth7239 There are two places where timing of the challenge is mentioned:
“The coach must request the challenge by pushing a button provided to him immediately after the refereeing body has awarded or failed to award points to the contested situation.
“No challenge can be requested after the end of the regular time of a period, except when the points are added to the scoreboard after the referee’s whistle or in case action occurred just before the time is over. The coach has 5 seconds from the time the questioned score is posted on the official scoreboard to request a challenge.”
The infraction occurred with 15 seconds left in the match. There is no way the challenge should’ve been allowed nearly 20 seconds after the infraction.
Put the play speed at the slowest. Then pause at 12:03. At that point Chance is grabbing the clothing around Burroughs lower stomach area.

@@JonathanRodriguez-dx5jt JB broke the rules.
They Cary Kolated Chance!
Chance is an awesome wrestler. JB waited until the end to call for a brick. He still didn't make the team!
12:03 I paused video and you can clearly see him pulling on his singlet
Chance won but the officials had to apply the technicalities where it just wasn't needed. The singlet pull was not intentional and Marstellar had his lead before the singlet was grabbed at all. Smh.
Surely this matchup won’t get any more controversial
this is what wrestling has come to
Rules are in place, the refs just enforce them. Time should have been called and a point awarded when the singlet was grabbed. What was controversial was the 4 point move in match 3 that went Chance's way. That call goes to the guy making the initial move 90 percent of the time. That was the deciding call of who made the team, and it was a crap shoot at best when left in the judges hands.
Rules are in place for a reason. The refs failed to properly enforce the rules in the first match but properly enforced them in the third. I don’t really see why you think the third match was more controversial.
Remarkable match. Marsteller is a phenomenal athlete, but Burroughs is too smart a wrestler to not ask for that brick. High level wrestling all around, tough to see Chance lose that way.
Burroughs is lucky the refs were either too low IQ or too low integrity refs to deny the challenge.
I’m new to wrestling not gonna lie. Does this mean Jordan Burroughs will go to the olympics for his weight class now since this was the final?
This is a best of three and it is to represent the US at the world championships.
JB says yes…lol
welcome! also it's best 2 out of 3. so Chance has to win match 2 in order to force a match 3. if burroughs wins match 2 then he goes onto the world championships
however, this is not an Olympic year nor is 79 kg an Olympic weight class. so it's just for the world championships. Next year, JB will have to win the olympic team trials challenge tournament at 74 or 86 kg _and_ beat Kyle Dake (74) or David Taylor (86) for the olympic spot
It’s the best of three for the world team that will be going to Serbia . There will be another tournament to determine the team for the Olympic Games
@@kristopherwilson506 Awesome tysm!👌
Technically it abides by rules, but by all good reason and common sense, the last 15 seconds should have been called bad time and Chance should have had 15 seconds put back on the clock. JB is the GOAT, but cheap trick, and Chance was the better wrestler in this match.
Technically, it doesn’t abide by the rules. The challenge was not legally allowed. The refs got it wrong.

Great match by Marsteller. Executed his game plan perfectly. The reason Chance and his corner were reacting the way they did is because the challenge was in violation of the rules. Luckily Chance beat him in the next two matches so it wouldn’t have come down to then challenging the decision.
I feel like this result wouldn't have happened if chance was the one throwing the brick.
I understand JB's a competitive guy, but to go out of your way to call out the fact that Marsteller's hand got caught in his singlet for half a second is poor sportsmanship imo, even if it was technically the correct call. It's just a shitty way to win as I don't think Marsteller impeded JB's ability to score with the singlet pull. Glad Marsteller was able to prove he's the better guy in the next 2 matches.
From Iranian Americans ex champ for change of high school colleges rules to aau
That was one of the worst protests I have ever seen. Why so late and why did they accept that?
How come chance didnt get an escape point when he escaped from jbs only takedown?

Chances needs to tell his barber to fade that beard.
Chance cannot let the match in the refs hands. Burroughs is a chump. Gotta win THAT way? That wont work on the world stage.
why did jb win even though it was 3-3? is it whoever scores the last point
oh its the sec refs in FS wrestling
Jordan won. That last jawn that coulda went both ways when they went out of bounds shoulda went to JB.
Why is JB hand fighting and tying up. I thought he would dance on the outside, jab the opponent in the face and wait for the double leg. Refs never calls him for stalling so why move away from that tactic. That's what got him his medals. Frustrating for the opponent and def. stalling but he was never called for it. If he's gonna tie up and hand fight he's not winning. That's why he lost to Iran last time. He tried to hand fight with him.
If Jordan wasn’t going to score, chance wouldn’t have grabbed the singlet, rules are the rules for a reason
If JB wasn’t afraid Chance would score for the win, he would’ve challenged when the rules allowed for it. Rules are the rules for a reason.
