Rik is such a great player but yet down to earth in his attitude and method of teaching and explaining things about the guitar just introduces things about the guitar that humble you I was do in midsummers day dream years ago and really forgot how great of a player he is. He an Satriani are such great teachers and how they help you interpret things about music in layman's terms
Oh, my dear Rik! You always inspire me! I'm so glad that I will have my own guitar lessons soon. I am so happy to welcome you and will watch videos published here. You seem to be a kind soul to me! Heartful regards to you and your wonderful family from Moscow! I'm grateful and would like to thank everyone who works at this interest music channel. I'm subscribed!
I say Triumph in the 80's. I always hoped to catch Rik and Dave on a West Coast tour, but read that he has retired from touring. I love this video and Rik's youthful spirit.
Agree. At least 6-8 db below normal vol stadard. But fantastic video and explanation by a guitar virtuoso, whom I first met at 18 Producing a concert in Thunder Bay back in 81 or 82. Then as a Video Producer on his The Spiral Notebook album in 95👍 Also new to MJS and will def look into a neck/bridge replacement I have been wanting on a Fender Sig guitar for the past year. Zak at Electric Standard Toronto works on my guitars, so I will request via him👍♥️
Sounds good Skyler - Great to connect! Apologies for the low volume...UA-cam normalized it after upload and shows reduced by 17.7dB for some reason :-(
Well Sr. You have a beautiful tone, it is enjoyable to watch a professional talk about tone.
Very True!!

You're absolutely right! Uncle Rik is definitely one of a kind and a wealth of knowledge :-)

I'm happy you work with Rik, because I was introduced to your pickups because of him. I own two of your pickups now, and they're amazing!
Hi Craig - Thanks so much for the kind words - glad we were able to connect! It's always great working with you :-). Keep rock'n!
Fabulous video! Bravo👏
Glad you liked it!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow Rik what beautiful tone!! Are you touring Ontario this summer??
Thank you! No tour this summer but he is making a few guest appearances locally :-)
Why on earth hasn't Godin done a Rik Emmett signature model A6? Just sayin. Seems like a no brainer to me.
Hmmmm - good question ;-)
Is that a Traynor Basemaster MK1 amp back there?
Rik's using our '73 Traynor Reverb Master and our Bass amp is a Traynor Mono Block II ;-)
What kind of string should we use on this guitar ?
ALL STEEL Strings are a must - Rik Uses D’Addario EJ21’s
love the pickups, and of course Rik. FYI maybe it's me, but volume seems a bit low on the video.
Thanks Jim! Shoot...our playback seemed OK but will check it out - Tkx! Turns out YT reduced volume by -17db after upload :-(
@@MJSCustomPickups -13LUT will do it for UA-cam.

I just bought one of these guitars and the booming pickup has got to go. I love the tone you are getting from that one.
Congrats Brian! Let us know if we can be of help :-) - www.mjscustompickups.com
