Rast your love on me is a beautiful country song from them. And if you want learn more about them check out their funny moments and Bee Gees gotcha, they were real comedians too!
Bee Gees did a full on country song on the B side of Too Much Heaven called Rest Your Love On Me and they have done others as well. Barry Gibb performed live at the Grande Ole Opry a few years ago too.
This is one of my favorite performances of this song. There are other great performances in this 1989 Melbourne show like - Words and a Medley. Some great performances from 1979 spirit tour: Wind of change, You should be dancing and Tragedy. Arsenio Hall show 1991 When he’s gone and To love somebody. Just normal siblings but loved each other very much. Also live by request on A &E has Man in the middle, She keeps on coming, Sacred Trust snd Wedding Day❤
These brothers are incredible. If you haven't reacted to younger brother Andy Gibb yet please do. His first release, which hit number one, I Just Wanna Be Your Everything, live performance on The Midnight Special. These guys have hits that go on and on over five decades. I think it's impossible to pick a favorite song by them. I have over 160 favorites. Another group I think you'll like from way back is the Three Dog Night. This group has three incredible lead singers and talk about soul. Tons of chart toppers. Never Been To Spain . Eli's Coming. Shambala. Old Fashioned Love Song. Black And White. Joy To The World. Liar. One Is The Loneliest Number. Family Of Man. Try A Little Tenderness. Celebrate. Pieces Of April.... You love country music. Yay. My country hero is the late, great Toby Keith. Please react to some of his incredible songs. Courtesy of the Red White and Blue (The Angry American) American Soldier. Me Too. How Do You Like Me Now. We Were In Love. I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again. Who's That Man. Trailerhood. Red Solo Cup. I Should Have Been A Cowboy. As Good As I Once Was. Wish I Didn't Know Now. Don't Let The Old Man In. Beer For My Horses. I'm Crying For Me. So many number one songs. You can't go wrong with any of them. Toby did USO tours 11 years in a row performing over 240 shows for our deployed troops. Great Patriot. The tours stopped with covid and not long after he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He passed away in February 2024. One last request then I'll not bug you for a bit, Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leopard. This group has an amazing story and talk about a brotherhood. There story reminds me of the Simon and Garfunkel song, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother. (Pay attention to the drummer in the live video and the people in the comments will fill in the rest).
Bee Gees have written over 1,100 songs. Please consider making a Playlist so we can keep track of your reactions and we don't request what you have already reacted to. I'm so excited to watch your Bee Gees journey.
@VADATV. We Bee Gees fan really appreciate you for going down the rabbit hole! ❤ Do more “live” performances: you maybe have reacted to some of the songs below, but not the live versions. And yes, Barry’s the only brother still alive. Make no mistake about it…when he said he lost his brothers when they were not getting on…they all still loved each other and had great times together. You can see that in a lot of their interviews together. They really had fun together 99% of the time…and like all siblings, they had some disagreements and fights…but they were still family. Barry still had his wife, Linda, to lean on and his 5 children and grandchildren now. Some great live performances: 1. 1991 Arsenio Hall “To Love Somebody “. A song written for soul singer Otis Redding, but he suddenly died in a plan crash and didn’t get to record it. 2. Any of the 4 songs they did on the 1975 Midnight Special: Jive Talking Nights on Broadway Wind of Change To Love Somebody (duet with Helen Reddy) 3. How Deep is your love, 1997 or 1989 concerts 4. 1987 Dutch TV show: You Win Again (I believe they were just singing on the backtrack, but I just like to watch Barry swing those hips on this version)🤣 5. How Can you mend a broken heart, 2001 live by request show. This was one of the first songs they recorded when they got back together after about an 18 month breakup back in the late 60’s, so the words to this song are basically about them. Al Green did a soulful cover of this song as well. 6. Lonely Days, 1997 Vegas live. This was the 2nd song they released after they had split up. Then if you want to do live versions of collaborations with them (remember, they wrote everything for them as well as other artists), here are some great collaborations they did live: 1. Immortality with Celine Dion, 1997 Vegas 2. Guilty and What Kind of Fool, Barbra Streisand with Barry Gibb from her album GUILTY.
Few of their Country songs… REST YOUR LOVE, Don’t Forget To Remember, ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, and Wildflower (with Maurice on lead). Maurice also had a solo song called HOLD HER IN YOUR HAND. Barry released a full album of his demos for Kenny Rogers EYES THAT SEE IN THE DARK. I actually prefer Barry’s demos!! Bring on Bee Gees Country!!
