Koorkencheri pooyam is the second largest temple festival in Thrissur town. This festival is famous for its Kaavadi aatam(dance) Thrissur pooram is famous for its elephant procession,chenda melam and fire works.

Things getting evolved, the festivals are not been celebrated the way about 40 years ago, when I was there now shifted to Mumbai and was not able to visit in the festive season. These changes are inevitable there's a mix of other cultures from Tamil nadu, and neibouring states even north Indian version are also adapted. Thanks for the video.

Kollam didn't get the name from the word for the year, but vice versa because a king from Kollam devised the "Kollam calendar" > hence kolla-varsham (കൊല്ലവർഷം/कोल्लवर्षं) > kollam. The original words for year are varsham/വർഷം/वर्षं or āndu/ആണ്ട്/आण्ड्.

Aj kal church me bi chenda melam karatha hei.. Isliye mandir me sirf pooyam me band kayi jega hota hei... Actually traditional culture church me band. Temple me chenda melam, nada searam, or mandir ka andar pooja ka time me edaka bi bajatha hei..edaka ek chottasa mridhangam jesa hota hei..

One thing I noticed that, you are not covering the shops and food destinations of thrissur. It is famous for Handicrafts and Variety of Food destinations. You must cover the Thrissur round road of Vadakkunnathan Temple. You will get a lot of contents for your videos. good luck 👍
