I think it's because for me they fail to capture their live sound in their records. Discovered them a couple years ago and love their live performances but the albums just don't have the same energy

First RR song I ever heard and I was hooked immediately. On a trip to Sweden back in like 2010 and sat on a bus I was surprised that some public radio was playing loudly over the bus speakers. Even more surprised that it was some sort of rock radio (Bandit I think it was called?) and then Tommy Gun came on and I was blown away. In the UK we sit in silence on the bus, Sweden is just so fkn cool
AC/DC hit me hard in the 70s, was a 100% AC/DC fan .... until Bon Scott died! Over! Period! The old AC/DC stuff was my cup of tea, and still love this old school rock'n'roll. Since that time not many band been interesting to me, I am not a metal guy, I just love good music with plenty of energy in it! And so something happened I never expected, .... I got hit again! Tommy gun was the first song I heard from this band called Royal Republic, and it just was bullseye! Not a "fan guy" like in the younger years with Bon Scott and the boys, but RR is so much fun, so pure energy, real handmade music played by really good musicians, and new songs from RR may always be a big surprise and make you wonder! And that's fckn good thing! Tommy Gun is still one of my all time fav songs, and if you want to know what RR is doing? Listen to Tommy Gun! Shoots you! Ha ha ha ....
