It shows that you enjoy the game, and that enjoyment is infectuous! It's honestly one of the main reasons for me coming back to watch and rewatch your videos; you're having a good time playing and I enjoy that vibe.
I watched every ds2 video at least 6 times since i first saw your channel from the rapier vid to this one, your commentary is so funny and entertaining plus your play style with the increased speed to not bore us with the slow movement also your voice is fkn beautiful. I don't normally comment on vids but man do you radiate so much positive energy. You my friend earned a very loyal sub keep those vids coming cause ill be waiting patiently for the new ones
Fantastic video like always, Yaz! The Rapier was one of my favorite Weapons of DS1, so I was very happy that it is so busted in DS2. It´s honestly mindblowing that this weapon survived through all the different patches and nerfs back in the day. And it would be awesome if you stream your playthroughs and runs in the future, really looking forward to it!
A small tip in case you cared about it the Covenant of the Meek that the guy in armor next too the Obelisk offers, the ring grants you an extra 3% health for free. Its not much but it's something till you get a better ring alternative❤
21:47 Not that it really matter for you for Velstadt, but you can get an earlier copy of Sunlight Blade from shrine of amana where the orge is after the second bonfire. Leaving you with 2 copies of sunlight blade for attunement.
Very fun challenge, there are so many paths you can take to complete a deathless ds2 run. Not just in terms of what bosses you kill but also the amount of builds that are viable for such a run because of ds2's level economy. For anyone trying to attempt this, i recommend the following things: -Rapier (ofc), really strong, light, simple to get at the start of the game. -In the Dragon's Sanctum is a really easy to pick up boltstone chest (lightning infusion stone) in the room with the spike walls. On top of that, this dlc also has the Flynns ring which pairs extremely well with the rapier. -Get the yearn sorcery from carhillon. I cant stress enough how disgustingly op this spell is, its a decoy spell that will work on almost all enemies in this game, it has a gigantic range, lasts really really long, it takes off all aggro from enemies and it enables you to just run trough a lot of dangerous areas without breaking a sweat. -Use a bow. There is a free +7 longbow pick-up in Shulva, i recommend using that one until you get the hunters blackbow and upgrading that to +10. A +10 blackbow with lightning and poison arrows comes in handy for the sections that you cant run through with yearn. -Get to the rotten early for 1 million soul memory, access to the sunken king dlc and early access to drangleic for the blackbow ( killing the twin dragonriders/getting to drangleic castle will also allow you to buy multiple copies of yearn). the rotten is not only really easy but also yields a fuckton of souls. -Get the homeward miracle from licia. This spell is not only faster to use than a regular homeward bone but it also useable when you get invaded by an npc such as forlorn, specifically the forlorn in black gulch can really mess you up so having this spell at the ready makes him basically a non issue. Using homeward early is viable if you get the rapier since it has low stat requirements. push her of the edge afterwards because otherwise she will invade you in drangleic and the undead crypt. -Start with the bonfire ascetic as a starting gift. It will allow you to kill a second rotten as soon as you killed the first one for easy souls. -Level adp. adp and attunement will both boost your adaptability which in turn increases your s. really nice because it allows you to use magic without sacrificing survivability -Use the stone for high poise enemies like the alonne knights, they dont react to yearn and can quickly overwhelm you if you aggro multiple due to theire speed. A bow/rapier in combination with the stone ring will easily dispatch them. -Be patient. If you are not super familiar with ds2/dont have the experience like yazzmania you will likely die a lot of really frustrating deaths that are only really avoidable if you knew something like this could happen. dont be discouraged when losing a ton of progress because at the end of the day, as long as you keep playing, you will get better. Have fun :)
man you got me back into this game again after not playing for years since grinding it in highschool lol. I used to love the throne defender greatsword, always thought the L2 buff was so cool
Would love to see you do a run with the mace. Its kinda like the str version of the rapier, obv. not as utterly busted but still a solid choice throughout the whole game and also one of my go to weapons to answer your question from somewhere during the vid.
Let me get this straight, my guy. This is where we clash. I hate thrusting weapons, hate their basic movesets. But man, I know the rapier is top tier, but the combo of leo ring is so busted. Hope the next upload will be fire as well.
I've been trying to do a no death and no bonfire run. literally tried it over 50 times, got close a couple, but never finished it. you're so good you could probably do it. need to use homeward bones to go back to majula and u need a shit load of lifegems and repair powder. maybe if you're down you could try it for a future video. thanks for the cool content again man i love ur vids!
Man this was some pro gameplay, really nice run! In my first playthrough of SotFS I used Ricard's Rapier because I somehow missed that the blacksmith sells the regular one (and maybe you don't get one in treasure chests?), but it also was powerful, and has a funny special attack where you like stab 5x really fast. Infused it with lightning and used it for pretty much the whole game :D
The rapier is so good that any other thrusting weapon just feels like rapier-lite Last run I did was a basic longsword, and all I could think was that it was just a worse rapier lol
It would be cool to see you do a greatshield only run, where shield bash is the only way to deal damage (from I what read, Orma and Reeve's shields are the only ones you can power stance).
This is my go to weapon for no death runs too! I go uninfused so that my points go to dex, adp, and vgr. The damage is a bit lower, but survivability is much higher
Did the no death and no bonfires like a month ago and dude, this shit almost killed me. At one point I went to buy Gold pine resins from the head, and since I didn't want to walk back, I used a bone. That fucking thing teleported me to Bligh town 2.0 and I had to go through the Gutter a second time!
The first weapon I've fully used was the claymore. The Falchion is a weapon I've always used in pretty much all of the Dark Souls games. It's probably my favourite weapon in the series. But I would lie if I said that I never used the rapier to cheese a boss or two in ds2.
in enteral sanctum or whatever there is 1 bonfire ascetic when get to that ghost warrior where u get titanite slab and soul vesel go left there is room and in the wooden chest where u get bonfire ascetic
If you do a no death sorcery run, there isn't even a need to go to 3 of the Lord souls. Dukes dear Freya is such an easy boss, and with sorcery you have a free hand for a torch to run through the spiders. Then you get a couple crystal soul spears and boom 1 million soul memory. Southern ritual band +1 is in brightstone cove, northern band +1 is carillon if you risk the HP loss (imo worth it) or +2 in aldia's keep. Getting clear bluestone ring is out of the way for +1 and +2 but shaded woods isn't bad, but I personally hate running through there for anything other than the cloranthy ring. And of course, the staff of wisdom is in brightstone cove anyways. Also resetting Freya gives you plenty of chances for titanite farming if you want to upgrade your armor or something That's how I did my no death run.
@@Yazzmaniapretty sure they're doing it for the memes. Like they did, when upon defeating Kalameet in DS1 you get a ring that doubles the damage you take
I booted up ds2 after catching up on your vids and forgot how busted the rapier is lol. Can’t believe how easy it is to get the rapier, Leo ring, and dark weapon early on
No, I’ve done many builds and the rapier build is just shit. I can easily outdamage it with a lot of builds. Sure, it does good damage pretty early, but it becomes outdated just as quickly
@@zzodysseuszz Up until recently I've only played Ds2 Vanilla so I never encountered the damage drop-off in the dlc. If the rapier falls off, what are some of your favorite late-game weapons?
Do you have a full video of this somewhere? I want to try for myself, and I'm not as familiar with the game, and playing along with a full video seems easier than pausing every 5 seconds to see where you went next. Really great video though, convinced me I need to try it.
Rapiers will forever be busted in DS2 >:D Regarding the weapons question, I became a fan of the scythe's moveset (which is actually a bardiche) in DS1. I got to infuse it with dark thanks to Age of Sunlight mod, and when I learnt there was a dark scythe in Shaded Woods, I knew it was fate 🖤 No matter what build I play as, I always have the most fun with the polearms :)
Do the no bonfire run on this character. Grab the crown of the brume tower DLC to replenish spells over time. Attune repair, great heal and sacred oath before starting as well. Once I lost a oportunity because I didn't attune the spells before starting.

Fuck no, pvp servers are so dead
Yeah for pvp but you gotta be good at the game to get them, I'm not that good tho xD
no, but they are cool to have, or troll someone, but goog luck finding pvp

the bosses in DS2 are so slow the counter window lasts for almost 2 seconds, that's why thrust weapons with leo ring are broken in this game
Love your videos man! Keep up the grind G!

I do agree the weapon is boring but it gets the job done haha, especially in a no death run i didn't want to risk lacking damage
bro why would you "hate" a weapon with amazing damage, stagger, and faster move set than most of this sluggish ass game?!
This is slowly convincing me that DS2 might actually be the best one. I need to play it again.
King Yaz finally got to challenge runs! Love your content!
