Fun fact: the R8C coupe's from Audi weren't scraped after this race, they were evolved during 2000 and becsme the Bentley Speed 8 coupes by 2001, and ended winning the race in 2003.
#55 loses a wheel and it still manages to finish. All French driver lineup and team at Mulsanne. The tire was so far away and suddenly it's next to the car. How about that? Even Allain De Catenet called it. The car later pulled away on 3 wheels, so somebody stopped them and forced the GT car to continue if it wished. Good for you Allain. Coverage is a good thing.

Great to hear the Radio Le Mans crew take up the commentating for a bit during this segment.
Thankfully

The wheel was not that far away, 30 meters maybe. The tyre wall is close to the Mulsanne corner.
One of the long list of times where Toyota lost Le Mans racing against factory teams.
Sam Posey is beyond tedious...constantly interrupting Alain de Cadenet.
