It does not matter. They obviously optimised multithreading performance and that can only be good. It seems that performance scales with your hardware and it's No of cores (be it cpu or gpu) which is what you want when you upgrade a machine. That would also mean that investing on multiple GPU will actually have a big impact in performance. Remember this is a professional tool that takes the end/professional user, seriously. You will be surprised to learn that the majority of programmes (or most of their instructions) do not scale well and in many cases, at all...
@@constantinosschinas4503 oh yeah I wasn't trying to imply that the scaling was bad or that it requires that kind of machine, that's just a crazy example PC. I've heard Epic provides pretty nice machines which is probably why they had that example, but in a lot of workplaces you're going to have a tough time asking for a $50k rig
Hi, I can't update to RealityCapture 1.5. The launcher is only showing version 1.4.2, and no matter what I do, it doesn’t allow me to access version 1.5. I’ve already uninstalled the launcher (which also removed all my Unreal Engine versions). It’s very frustrating to have to reinstall everything, but even after doing so, the launcher still only shows version 1.4.2. What am I doing wrong? I’m on Windows 11 Pro. Thank you!
Hi, we are sorry for these issues. Can you try also these recommendations: forums.unrealengine.com/t/knowledge-base-realitycapture-tab-not-working-on-epic-games-launcher/2149758?
@@b4rtmod Hi, sorry for the late reply, yes I did, you have to uninstall version 1.4 and make sure you have the Epic Games Launcher open and you are signed into your account, them do a computer restart and everything should work, you will get an option to download version 1.5 (make sure you are on the latest Epic Games Launcher) Please let me know if it worked for you...
If you cant download it, this is what i had to ... 1. Uninstall 1.4.2 2. Restart the Launcher 3. Now there should be a download link... WHY isnt there a simple update button ??
Can you demonstrate performance on a more NORMAL PC? Like a GTX 970? It doesn't matter whether it takes 24 minutes or 33 minutes on a rich person's rig, but it would be nice to know how many hours or days it will take normal people.
GTX 970 is not normal, it is ancient hardware. 4GB ram is not enough anyway. Minimum normal would be 3060 12GB. Normal is 4070 12GB. This is a professional software and they make sure it works at the max. There are always options for cloud processing, to achieve speed without buying the hardware. The software is free to try it yourself and see processing times in your setup.
Whatever projects you're currently doing on your current hardware... 1.5 will be faster. It sounds like time is not a constraint for you. (also, it's FREE)
to push the unreal engine content, lot of good useful tutorials have been removed from youtube, and even these RC updates keep on getting install issues,
Been messing around with radiance fields with your software and postshot the whole week. Having the dedicated export option is really cool!
The radiance field export is a cool option :)
"with a pretty powerful pc" cracked me up, that machine has a $10,000 CPU, two $9000 video cards, and like $1200 of ram

Woah, just clocked that. What a rig!
I felt like I could hear the smug smile when he said "pretty powerful" lol
When can I use 360 footage as input?
Awesome! Loving the edition for radiance fields! Is Reality Capture ever going to add an actual Gaussian Splat renderer in the future?
Would be great if some day we could draw pollylines over 3d model and export pollylines as dxf.
Great for Arch Vis when scanning building with square edges
please work on the UI.. Im using RC for months now and still getting lost in the menus.. also some more mesh cleanup tools would be great.
can you align by geotags? So you can use ground photos to fill in buildings on the property
Hi Chris, do you mean ground control points? If so, it is possible.
Is there a limit to the number of images for input? have 3,000, but it seems to crashes even below 1000 or so.
Hi, the limit is just your machine parameters and used alignment settings. 3000 images is not so much.

언제부터 사용가능한가요? 에픽게임즈 런처에서 업데이트가 안떠요.
Try to restart the Launcher. Then the option should be there.
@ Thank you very much

full nerf/gauss workflow when?
I love rc and i live what it free!
you should just include 6 cameras and project any object onto a box, and use ai to remove replicated overlaps, giving you really big uv maps.
Great update. However I hope you will tackle this horrible UI at some point!
When you refer to super-powerful computer, do you mean computer that specifically...?

the laucher is crapware itself btw
When will it work on Macs?
I'm afraid it never will. CUDA is required.
Is there any hope for the macOS version in the future?
Terrain export? How long I was sleeping…
Does it also work on AMD cards? or still no?
