This tutorial was easy to follow and my tote turned out great!
great video. this is the second video i have seen that cuts the notch on the box joint. small detail that looks like it makes a huge difference. thank you for sharing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! We are working on a new tote bag pattern (that will be a free giveaway) right now. Make sure to keep an eye out for that video in the next couple of weeks!
This was an excellent tutorial!
This is a well made tutorial thank you.
Very interesting why Im here? My cousin is doing it right now for the orders she's making bag and wallet match.its amazing
Great work! 👍
Thanks for voice over explaining the steps .
I like how you took the notches out of the corners. I'm going to try that on another bag I'm making.
Thank you so so much for this tutorial 🙏❤
Great video very informative ❤
Wow this sounds cool for Christmas gift 😃👌
Nice tutorial. I bought your leather works machine and will try on that.
Wow Amazing!
Great work. I'm very new at this. I diy decor but wanted to make my own handbag 👜.
Great project and terrific tutorial! Thank you!
I used to make them (though not with actual leather), laptop bags, tablet bags and cell phone cases.
Thankyou sir
Very clear instructions. I am going to try your method of installing rivets. Thank you for your tutorial.
Awesome! I have wanted to have a purse made because I cannot find the style I’ve been looking for. Thank you!
Good ❤
Great video - many thanks for the plans and resources. You asked for project feedback - please consider a video on making custom knife sheaths for folding knives (not long blades). I inherited a number of old Bear & Sons and Case vintage pocket knives. I'm going to restore the folding knives and would like to make a new, custom, knife sheath for friends. My way of giving the knives a second chance and a new sheath to encourage use. Thanks for listening. Best to you all at Sailrite.
Thanks for your suggestion! That's is a neat project idea. We will make sure to add it to our future projects board!
Sailrite, this video for a tote coincides with a letter I was going to send you. You would be the perfect company to sell bag hardware. You already sell useful bag fabrics and the following are natural additions: D rings, Triangle rings, swivel hooks, slider buckles and the plethora of rivets, metal snaps, magnetic snaps, key fob ends etc. With rivets, how about a rivet-setting tool like the KAMsnap or Goldstar table presses? You already sell the YKK zippers, how about adding the YKK Metaluxe zips for a metal look that's plastic for easier sewing? There is HUGE audience just waiting...
Thanks for reaching out, this is actually something we are currently working on, stay tuned!
Adding a cloth liner would be a cool addition to this.
We love your idea of adding a cloth liner to the leather tote bag! It's funny you should mention it, as we've been considering updating our project design, and a liner is definitely on our list. We encourage you to try it and add your own spin to the project. Thanks for your suggestion, and happy crafting!
It would be so much harder add in fabric.
@@erinmok6334 not really.
@@theezeelife292let's make one for us in future. 🤍🌷
so cool it is, i did something different
This is great. Not sure how to get dimensions. When I pause it goes dark grey and I can't see the measurements....
I'm already a leather crafter... 🤪 😎
I'm surprised to see sailrite bitting the bug. Now if I can get one of your sewing machines, with worker B motor, that sews up to 6 oz. my life would be golden. 😉
Let me know when payment plans through the website start happening. Something simple, 6mo payment plan.. (hint drops)
Thanks for the note! A payment plan is something on our roadmap, stay tuned!
Is there a way to get a pdf of the template to trace? It would be so much easier than pausing the video to try and get the measurements. Thanks in advance!
Screenshot the template, it helps!
how well do the leather feet work on the Lsz1? I purchased them and have not tried them out yet.
If you are working with a leather that easily mars/marks, the foot is invaluable. The knurling may still leave a slight track but the knurling is necessary so that the foot still has enough grip to climb up varying thicknesses.
How can you put a pocket and a liner?
We don't currently have a video on this process, but we will add it to our list!
Could you sew this using the portable LSZ machine?
Yes you could! We also have a leather package option for the Ultrafeed machines that comes with the smooth leather foot set and other valuable accessories and notions. You can check out the packages here: www.sailrite.com/ultrafeed-upgrade-packages
how could you transfer a picture on the leather in 8x10 for the front?
Are you talking about molding or painting?

nice! what weight thread is that?
We used V-92 (Tex 90) polyester thread for this project.
@@SailriteWorkbench Thank you :-)
Perfect video i want to make one for my girlfriend how can i find measutements on cm ?
We have the pattern and measurements at 00:59. We only made the pattern in inches so we would recommend converting the measurements into cm with a measurement converter calculator. Good luck with your project. Happy Sewing!

Do you have a free template?
Not for this bag, but we are working on a new tote bag pattern that will be a free template. You can find that template in the description of episode 2 of our "Fundamentals" series that will be coming out over the next few weeks. We have added some updates and improvements, so keep an eye out for that video and the pattern when it drops!
I'm interested.55
It did its purpose no complains..
WHY wld anyone teach us this?!!!
I have tons of such bags, bcz they don't make those mini plastic grocery bags anymore... & They were Much More usable than these clunky grocery store bags. We're supposed to "Save this planet," by not having the little grocery bags of plastic.... then you have to Buy mini Plastic bags for your waste baskets. 🤷🤷🤷 Makes No sense at all. 🙄. Now I have to get "Tall kitchen garbage bags," ... Which is More plastic !! & So much for "saving the trees," !! They now have paper bags at the checkout, if you only have a few items... 🙄🙄
Complicated. I'll just buy a nice leather tote.
Wow this sounds cool for Christmas gift 😃👌
I used to make them (though not with actual leather), laptop bags, tablet bags and cell phone cases.
