Facts they changed the game for hardcore - metal core, they inspired lots of bands yet their sound is still unique to them, no other band could bring this energy just with their sound in the scene.

I come back to this song to remind myself of all that I no longer have, when I get too happy. (I'm not military if you're wondering, but that doesn't mean I'm not on a battlefield.)

I saw these guys in Pittsburgh when all they had put out was their demo with 4 songs.
A guy I knew turned his basement into a venue, booked underground bands, and charge you at the door where you were given a solo cup to drink warm beer. I believe he named it the “spider lounge”. Very fond memories of that spot and I still have a copy of their signed demo.

Went to see AFI in early 2004 during the Sing the Sorrow tour, AFI was one of my favorite, if not favorite bands at the time. Poison the Well, who I had never heard of, was one of the openers and when they played this song I had to make a note of at least one lyric so I could look them up on the internet when I got home.
Nearly 20 years later and I'm still listening to Poison the Well a lot more regularly than I am AFI.

This person staring through the reflective
You've turned and run off with all
Off to the other side with you
    And I know!
    I know
You try so damn hard to be
    So happy
    So you say
What do I do now that you are me?
    I'll fade with time
    Just like in a dream
    Inherit my shoes
    They were too hard
    To fill anyways
I want it to go well for you
    Start over
Start over and do it right this time
    For me
    Open the eyes
Look at this wall and notice
    The one that
    Borrows and steals
    I do this to myself
    I do this to myself
    I do this to myself

I remember going to see these guys in Glasgow about 10-12 years ago. I had just seen one of my other favourite bands, converge and managed to get backstage to meet them and they couldn't have been more arrogant and dismissive of a young fan. This is only mentioned as to show the stark contrast of the next week when i managed to meet these guys and I have to say Big Jeff is one of the nicest people i've ever met. I walked up to him at the bar, gave a nervous "hi there I love your band dude" and he just smiled, picked me up and gave me a massive bear hug, said thanks and just stood for ages shooting the shit with me. they were soooooooooo ahead of their time, even back then they made a huge impact in the metal core scene, would always order any dvds with them on because of their live energy, but of all their albums... this one dug deep and stayed there... my fave one is the realist on this album.

I hardly toss around the word beautiful, but this song embodies that definition. I remember one cold autumn many years ago, before I slept this song came on late, I remember just sitting and listening. It was cold in our house, the warmth of the fire went away, the TV screen flickered brightly with the music video, and the street lights were off. Much of the song's lyrics and the musical atmosphere buzzed in my mind before I slept. I tried reciting the lyrics but all I could do was hum. The next day, I bought the album and has been my favorite ever since.

One of the few bands that truly evolved in some of the best ways possible! I can't dig their old shit as much as this or even Tropic Rot, etc.... Far
more melodious qualities are found in their later works. In any case, I digress, this reminds me of Summer 2006... Meeeeemorrriiiiees.

I'm the complete opposite , this was the last record I enjoyed and there first two records and standards for me and some of the best I have heard still to this day . Tried to listen to versions as well and tropic rot but its not the same , opposite of December and Tear from the red are legendary .

reminds me of Summer '06 too. I knew then that I was living the best time of my life.. and knowing I would never have that time back. I'm glad I embraced the moments then. bittersweet
