- Chris reviews a USB endoscope (or borescope) that was designed for use on an Android device. The device can be used to inspect hard to reach areas, among other uses.
You can purchase one from a few different vendors. We got ours from eBay at the link below:

The Android app used in this video is called CameraFi and can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store.
We made a follow-up video which can be seen here:

Do you have pop-up ads on your screen when you use it? I do.
Im having trouble finding a app for mine could you help. I got a new phone and i cant find any that work
www.camerafi.com/app/camerafi-usb-camera-app/
Try the app called CameraFi. That one worked for me.
Great info. can I 7se this scope with my windows surface. what app do u recommend? thanks
+Kevin Thompson that's a good question. It works on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, & 10 as well as android. I'm not sure about the surface though. I'd look to see if there is a universal app available for your device that can connect to usb web cams. That's how I got it to work on my android and my windows pc.
Nice Video Now why can't you make a video on How to install the app and set it up on your Android Phone DUHHH.
+Norman McClure I'm pretty sure most of the people that are watching this video know how to download and install an app from the Play Store, but since you asked I may just have to go ahead and make that video.
Thank you yeah I have problem with which app to use so many diff apps out there.
that's why I'm watching the video. LOL
+Pileggi Technical Services can i use this camera for motorcycle videos ???
+shotunde coker Well, It depends on what you were trying to shoot. If you were using it to inspect the inside of the engine it would work great. If you wanted to mount it to the bike to capture the footage of your driving, it might not work that great. Focusing it would be an issue at distance.
thanks you ill try it. its not too expensive.
I got one of these . It works fantastic on my windows 10 laptop . Here is the bad . My phone ( Alcatel One Touch pop) and my cheap tablet will NOT run it . I tried the app that comes on disk and everything I could find to download . I still can use it as I wanted to . Looking into my motor to inspect cylinder . Just not as nice to use with my phone .
+MuzzleMike There are other people that say the same thing as you regarding the Alcatel One Touch. Check out the video by ChrisFix where he uses one of these to inspect the before and after effects of Seafoam on his lawnmower. It works well as an engine inspection tool.
+Pileggi Technical Services I have seen it needs OTG . I do not think the phone has that or my tablet . I will make sure my next one dose . So fare I love having this . When I am done I can rap it up small and put it in my tool box . I used the large scopes working in an diesel shop . Now I can do the same in my home garage at very little expense .
Nice video !
+यज्ञेश कुमार thank you!
which app did you use again?
+axios12 CameraFI. Found it in the Google Play store.
Thanks! It doesnt work on my phone. I tried all available apps and nothing/
+axios12 is your phone USB OTG capable?
my alcatel one touch phone doesn't work with this endoscope, could anyone help me on this..i already downloaded many apps for this, but no one is working on my phone...
+EDP tagaytay do you know if the phone supports USB OTG? I did a quick search myself but came up with conflicting information. That would be a good starting point.
does this record audio?
There is a microphone included in the in-line control module. The app used should be able to pick up and record the audio. Just remember that the mic isn't right next to the camera. That may result in the audio sounding a bit off.
it is available here in qatar?
Not sure. I purchased it from eBay and I've seen the same device on Banggood. There has to be a way to get one there.
agreed. video quality is "okay". the software sucks badly. I installed it to find a clog in my shower. app kept crashing. after I used other camera software it was a little better.
Did you find the clog?
Pileggi Technical Services yup. it was tough to ID because I couldn't articulate the camera like a real endoscope (ala Doctor Octopus in Spiderman), but I finally found it and hooked it out.
ok. thanks
No apps working with my Samsung 6 Active #HELP
Unfortunately I'm not sure how to help you.
What is a "engine well"...lol
I believe it's the area on a boat where the inboard engine can be found. 🤓
