  • This time we will introduce you to the inside of a large fishing gear store in Japan. Fishing is a popular pastime in Japan as well. There are several large fishing tackle shops in town. However, it is a shame that small, traditional fishing tackle shops are becoming rarer. This time I introduced a large fishing shop, but someday I would also like to introduce traditional Japanese fishing gear shops located in small villages in Japan.

    Your English subtitles were very good and made the video most informative. Tenago fishing may be in decline in Japan but it has traveled well as micro fishing. Here in New Zealand, there are a few who fish in the traditional Japanese style with small delicate rods and tiny hooks below a tiny float. Native fish are the target and a fish of 25 mm is the goal mostly from small intimate waters. Thank you for your lovely videos.

      Thank you. I think my English is not good enough, but I am trying my best to make you understand the contents as much as possible. I am very happy with your words. Oh, micro fishing in New Zealand!? I learned about it for the first time. If it is because you are interested in Japanese tanago fishing, I am really happy. I imagine New Zealand as big trout fishing in the vast nature. I am really happy just to think that a slightly unusual Japanese fishing, targeting small fish, is being enjoyed in a faraway country. Thank you so much for sharing such a good story.

      @@TAKA_ojfc New Zealand does indeed have very large trout, especially on the south island. However there are other fish here too, large koi carp in the north island plus perch are widely distributed and in some waters reach a very large size. There are other species too but pollution and climate change have reduced the fish population in many lowland waters to a fraction of the haydays some years ago and so microfishing is a very viable pursuit in the small forgotten waters.

      @TAKA_ojfc  3 місяці тому

      @@stevensad38 I see... I was reminded that changes in ecosystems due to pollution and climate change are common all over the world. Even the naturally rich New Zealand is no exception. In Japan, too, the number of tanago fish has drastically decreased due to environmental changes, which is one of the reasons why tanago fishing has become less common. It's such a shame.

      Hello. Japan is a small country, but it is blessed with an abundance of water. I think the fact that there are two shops like this in a small town is a symbol of how much fishing is loved by so many people. If you drive 10 minutes from this shop, there is another shop, and if you drive another 30 minutes, you will reach a large fishing tackle shop in the next town. I would also like to introduce you to another shop sometime.

      There are many large fishing tackle shops like this in Japan, so you can buy kneaded bait for fishing with just a short drive. There are various types of bait for carp fishing, and most of them just need to be mixed with water. sorry that my English is not good. Would "manufacturers" be more appropriate?

      There are two large fishing tackle stores in my town alone. The names of the stores are "Casting" and "Joshuya." These two chain stores are located all over Japan. However, in cities like Tokyo and Osaka where there are few fishing spots, the shops may be a little small.

      @@kept_infocus3274 There are used items in some parts of the "Casting" store. The store that mainly sells used items is called Tackle Berry. I think there are more than 10 Tackleberry stores in Tokyo. Since this is a store that sells second-hand goods, the selection and products vary depending on the store, but I think you can find some good items.
      Although the store is not large, the store called ``Sansui'', which has several stores in Tokyo, is also a famous store. Sansui also sells used items, so they may have some good ones.

      Shops like this are common fishing gear stores that can be found all over Japan. However, in cities like Tokyo, the shops are often small and narrow. @@justhunt8813 Hello. I don't know the price of Shimano or Daiwa reels overseas, but I think it's probably a little cheaper to buy them in Japan. Tokyo and Osaka are lively cities, so fishing gear stores are not very large. Recommended shops are fishing tackle chain stores called Joshuya and Casting, which are located all over Japan. I think they have stores in Tokyo and Osaka as well. If you can't find it on the internet, please ask again.
