When I see and hear about the so called celebs in society and the shallow lives that they lead, and then I see this man "Ally" and the depth of his contentment and passion that he has for his life, and the job that he does I know who is the richer, perhaps not financially but what he has is priceless and I think he would be a pleasure to know, thanks Ally.
An amazingly beautiful part of the world. It is so great to see crofting continue as it is an integral part of Scotland’s heritage. Well done Ally and thank you for sharing.
More of this! ❤ Hearing the stories of farming across Scotland, the UK and worldwide with the context of how and where they work is something very special. Great work 👏
Thank God for people like yourself Ally, who push their passion to a new generation of potential crofters. Little wonder you're happy to live and work in such a beautiful place. Thank you for showing us 😊😊
Isle of Lewis is a tight community and beautiful island. Breeding starters away from infection and on healthy ground supports the industry. Ally obviously enjoys what he does and no doubt where he lives. I hope this tradition doesn't end and continues to feed. Thanks for sharing Iona and Cammy. Great series to educate the viewers.
That William Wallace moment when he talks about freedom for sheep & humans .... Epic ! As he says, they are "flippin good at it" - and long may that continue. Great to see that experienced crofters are mentoring the younger generation as this enthusiasm is infectious. Beautifully filmed and produced, so a big thank you for the work that went into this.
Top class filming , what a canvass to farm on , hard land making tough resiliant people , were the focus is community and basic need and desire to make a living and not a killing .brilliant ,great stock and even better people.
Ally your genuine passion and love for what you do is shining out your face and eyes. I agree with you earning big money is not everything, if you enjoy what you do and get sheer satisfaction daily is more satisfying than grafting every day and been rich but miserable. Fabulous Vlog.
Ally is an amazing ambassador This is such an incredible vlog Cammy this episode is well paced Ally explains a point and then there is a gorgeous shot of The Isle of Lewis the viewer can see how passionate Ally is about Croft farming sheep WOWZERS Just delightful
@@FedByFarmersPodcast TOTALLY 👍 Here’s hoping in gets more coverage It is a great testament to loving what you do and never working a day in your life💕
Fantastic, absolutely loved this. Thanks so much to Als and Ally for making this and FBF for screening it 👏👏👏👏 Would love to see a full documentary on Ally farming his free range sheep through all 4 seasons 💕
He brings passion back into how one should think about what works well for him and his lifestyle as a shepherd. Makes me feel envious for his decisions and way of life in the nicest way. Truly, it is endearing, wholesome. I am glad he is willing to share with the younger persons who also would find the same sediments and passion as he. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video - you can see Ally's absolute passion for this way of life, and it's amazing that he's doing all he can to help perpetuate it and encourage the younger generation to work on the land, as people have always done in those special islands. Math fhèin, agus gun tèid leat, a bhalaich!
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing your inspiring perspective, Ally, and for encouraging the younger ones coming after you to pursue the dream. This was a real treat from Fed by Farmers, which is one of my favorites with Cammy and Iona. ❤
Bloody well done Cammy. This was excellent, and so well put together. Great to hear more from Ally. Hope these mini docs become a regular feature moving forward - you have a real talent for this.
Makes me wish I could pick up and move to the island and start a Croft. Wonderful interview and I’m hoping he is able to get more young people inter3sted in doing it.
Amazing scenery to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world. I find it interesting to see farming in different countries, I am in Kansas USA
@FedByFarmersPodcast we don't often see one of your podcasts without seeing you or Iona. Missed your banter, but at least Ally (hope I've got his name right) didn't have to fight to get a word in.😅
Maybe in the future. This was a separate project pioneered by Als Couzins. He travelled up to film Ally and edited the doc together. Gets more people involved in Fed by Farmers and some variety to the channel. But if we ever get the chance to have him on, we'll take it!
What a wonderful man Ally is. Really loved listening to him talking about his amazing way of life
