I chuckled when you called that Flemming an older boat.. It's probably only 10 years old. It's a much more capable boat than the GB Europa. Don't get me wrong, GB is a great boat builder.

Grand Banks are beautifully built and well-engineered. The master cabin in particular has incredible storage for a long trip, plus the huge locker across from the guest cabin is terrific. The bunk in the guest stateroom looks pretty small but that encourages guests to keep their visits to no more than a few days. A good thing.
That 46 Europa would be a terrific Loop boat but you would have to check to see if the entire Bimini and radar mast can be lowered, because I doubt it can fit under low bridges on the Erie Canal as is. Also, there is a ton of varnish on old Grand Banks that must be maintained with considerable effort. Was Magic equipped with a bow thruster? Pretty much a necessity for peace-of-mind docking and lock transits. The wide side decks are perfect for docking and lock transiting and the roof overhang will allow you to keep windows open even in rain.
One knock is the dinghy on the roof. They are a pain to lower and raise and as a result they are rarely used. A hydraulic stern platform that can carry a tender is much, much easier to use. But give this boat serious consideration if it fits your budget. It would be very comfortable and capable.
Agreed liveaboard or Great loop the 46 would work out great in most cases, we are still a few years out from retirement so there is allot of looking and investigating to do however half the fun is getting ready, thanks for the comments.
What boat show was this filmed at? We are in the dreaming stage and will need to start attending these soon to get an idea of what kind of boat we will want to pursue when we are ready. Thanks for the great vid. I do love the Grand Banks..

Suggestions: Info on electronics package and mechanicals; you mentioned looping, is is she loopworthy? Age? Lastly, when you're on the bridge talking about it's size, it'd be nice to see something besides the palm trees in the distance. Otherwise, great boat. Can't go wrong with GB.
