Every day is a school day ... In my mid 60s and worked on vehicles and electrical installations all my life, must have used thousands of cable ties ... and finally learned not to just cut the top corner off a pack .. what the hell have I been doing with my life .. lol ... 🤠
By far the best mechanics on UA-cam. Christian, your sense of humour is superb and Vera, I couldn’t stop laughing every time you mentioned 5W Dumbass. So love this channel, I look forward to every Sunday.
Fantastic as always, when Vera was soo happy about it starting. You both continue to amaze me, everything you do it too perfection, you could maybe publish that step by step guide now ❤ patreons only of course 😂
I'm so so impressed, I never doubted you for a second, I just didn't believe it would be this quick. Glad this channel is beginning to get the views it deserves. You are amazing
I subscribed the first time I came across this channel, this couple is super daring, they will open up anything like they manufactured it, I love them alot.
Grandios!!
Am grinning from ear to ear for you both. The videos on this series have been absolutely fantastic. You deserve to have many, many happy miles in that car after all of that work. I can’t wait to see what your next project is! 😁
It’s not unbelievable that it runs like nothing, it is the logical result of brilliant pedantic and intelligent work of you both. Thanks a lot to share it with us! Congratulations!
Congratulations to Vera and her assistant Christian. The absolute joy when that engine started was palpable. What an achievement. I might just watch the whole series again. Thank you.
The Pyro-Fuse can easily give you a heart attack. Congratulations to both of you. That was a splendid job. Perhaps you can consider doing a video of the cost breakdown and your thoughts on the entire project.
I think honestly this might save a few disco 4 from the breakers and give a few people that wouldn’t normally have a go might now. What was the total cost so far? As that’s a big factor for repairs too. Great job both of you. Vera reminds me of my wife too. So organised
A magnificent victory in the long battle of the crankshaft. Vera's joy in the LR4 sparking into life was palpable...and not a toothbrush in sight. Brilliant series, well done Christian & Vera.👍👏
Another amazing instalment of the clickidy click show. You both are amazing, and I've spent the whole time laughing while watching your faultless German precision and attention to detail. A massive achievement and congratulations to you both on bringing it back to life 👏 Am I the only subscriber that's never owned or will get a landrover? But enjoys mechanical and entertaining video's
I have to say I'm getting more and more impressed by you guys. Christian a really good mechanic and engineer with good humoristic sense, and Vera the OMG-firework, where did you find her!?? Thank you for inspiring us other Discovery owners:-)
As a diesel mechanic I am very impressed with what you have done and congratulate you on your excellent achievement in repairing that engine,I haven’t done one of these myself yet and after watching you two battle with this one I’m NOT sure I want too. It would be nice to know just how much you spent on parts and gaskets Ect and the total amount of hours it took you to achieve your goal of turning a disaster into this great achievement, well done.
Looks like you now have yourselves another fine LR Disco 4, that will be better than it left the factory, that colour is perfect. And well earned it has been, nice work once again Vera and Christian.

Watching this channel made me realize 2 things: 1) I would love to have a LR 2) I cannot since I don't have infrastructure and/or knowledge to run it properly :( next life, maybe...
Confession time, I am a die-hard Toyota fan who will never ever own a Land Rover, but I wait patiently all week for your Sunday videos. My ultimate dream and fantasy is for Christian and Wera to cross to the "Dark Side" of Toyota ownership, if only briefly and teach us all how to make Coffee. The excitement and elation of the engine start brought joy to my Heart. Great Job, Great Team.
Wow... Hugely impressive. Very few folks would undertake that as a DIY job. Kudos to you and Vera for a taking us through that. You have a beautiful, rust free and hopefully reliable disco 4 there now.
So, today I treated myself to some nice cold cuts of roast lamb along with a few Yorkshire Puddings whilst watching your final instalment of this unmissable series. A small glass of my wife’s birthday Champagne sealed the deal. I’m looking forward to enjoying some more choice Sunday lunch leftovers when you unveil your next must see project. Well done both of you for rendering my television surplus to requirements.
Congratulations on the rebuild. It sounds so smooth, like a Toyota. Especially enjoyed Vera’s jubilation at the engine starting & the oil pressure jumping straight up to level. 🎉❤
Wow! I am in awe of you both 😁. Many congratulations on the success of rebuilding that engine, you both should be so very proud of yourselves. My heart sank when you first tried to start it, but I was elated when you fixed the problem. That D4 is a very smart looking car, also. What a great buy 👍. Plenty of OMG's to keep the show going, too!! Take care you two, and can't wait to see what next week brings 😉🇬🇧
I am so happy for you both that I am still smiling after watching this😊it sounds fantastic and no faults or leaks I hope you enjoy it for many years. It gives me even more enthusiasm to press on with my build. You guys take home mechanics to another level and the rest of us can learn so much to help keep our own LR trucks on the road too 😁well done
Das heutige Highlight vom Ideenreichtum of german engineering war ohne zweifel, das ausrichten des Gehäuses mit faden und lot. Wonderful ! Congratulations on a successful end to "an Everest of a task". Emotions were running high. Proof - Vera ...."FAARK !" When the starter motor only clicked. A level above her "OMG !". Vera & Christian putting Land-Rover Germany to shame for not supporting a customer.
That was by far one of the best series of videos I've watched on UA-cam for a very long time. Congratulations on an awsome rebuild. Having rebuilt engines myself, I know that elation of hearing is start up for the first time. Definitely have me hooked on your channel.
Congratulations to you both, a truly fantastic achievement bringing that engine back from the brink of a trip to the scrap man. I think the highlight that will stay with me was Vera’s reaction when the engine burst into life, absolutely priceless. 👍
Fantastic work guys, you're tipping me back from audi ownership to landrover discovery ownership. I can't be the only one thinking that Vera's excitement of the engine starting was really genuine & christian was bound to get lucky that night 😊
Glorious moment! Congratulations and enjoy driving your hard work around! No doubt you now have the best diesel powered LR4 on the road! 🎉 no other LR4 on the planet runs as smoothly as your new garage queen! 😎
I enjoyed watching this video and your others, a lot; thank you. I am on my 4th Land Rover; currently have a 3.0 SDi Autobiography, and try and do most of my servicing work myself. I started doing car mechanics at 16 and now am 69, but still learning. I envy your hydraulic lift; have never had one of those. Keep up the good work.
I love the way that you take a problem a problem that has probably ruined many a marriage and caused a lot of misery, and turn it into a fun family activity! This has got to the be the best "life gives you lemons make lemonade" story ever! Priceless😀
Hi, my name's Ian and I've managed 1 day without saying click-click when tightening up a nut without a torque wrench.... Starting was never in doubt, well done, great videos. 👌
I’m sure we all share your excitement at having brought back another Discovery to life. A superb job, expertly performed. One hell of an achievement! Congratulations. Probably the best and most interesting task you have ever shown us, so far. Once the celebrations are over, please could I now have a body off repair? But in my case, please could you swap my entire body for one about 30 years younger?
Wowwwowww, I held my breath on first crank, couldn't hold it any longer when she laughed with alotta joy on first start😂😂. I really wonder how much you put into tools and equipment, you are super loaded with tools.
'Oh my god', I'm not the only one who uses anti seize grease. Superb.❤ What a superb series very clickety click factually rich with such detail and fabulous humour and in a foreign, or as we call it, correct language 😆🤣 I've learnt so much and some I may need therapy to forget as I'd still like a Disco 4 😆😅🤣 Please rest easy before the next project. Vera likes to rock and roll to hard rock? I thought a nice Symphony music is only thing Land Rovers play? Beautifully done! It was good to hear it start and run and drive!
One of my favorite channels on UA-cam. Christian have amazing sense of humor and self irony and Vera completes him perfectly with the sense of order. Amazing project and episode. That was a superb rebuild, I've recently found your channel after purchasing a discovery 4 sdv6 with 175,000 miles! The quality of information on your chanel is fantastic, and well done to Vera for keeping track of all the parts and bolts!
That was great fun to watch! I was so worried when it just when "click", after all that work. Fantastic rebuild, and I can appreciate that you'll be keeping this one. Thanks for the tip on the the cable ties. No more sliding out the end of the bag...

That tip on opening cable tie packs will change my life 😁
Was just thinking the same...Christian and Vera spend half a lifetime rebuilding an engine = I learn how to open a pack of cable ties 😂
But also buy the reusable ones (yes, it's "a thing")
Every day is a school day ... In my mid 60s and worked on vehicles and electrical installations all my life, must have used thousands of cable ties ... and finally learned not to just cut the top corner off a pack .. what the hell have I been doing with my life .. lol ... 🤠

Absolutely awesome Vera’s enthusiasm when it started was so uplifting. Fantastic 🙏🏴❤️
The excitement of starting a rebuilt engine never changes.
Brings back memories for me when I repaired a Vauxhall vectra
Seeing this, one wonders how much more complex could JLR have made this!
Bravo! Every day is a school day. How come I got to 59 years old opening cable tie bags the wrong way. Doh!
If only every mechanic had a wife like Vera.
