So true! I really miss the days of my youth, along with family members and friends who are no longer here. Age though, is just a number, I’m 61 but still youthful-ish. 😊
I watched this show religiously when it was on. When he said he was going to try to reunite Scandal, I was like "nope, not gonna happen, way too much bad blood." Pulled off a damn miracle with this one.
"We're not gonna need keyboards on the second album." WTF? The keys were such a massive part of that sound. Especially that killer riff in "Goodbye to you." They sounded pretty tight....
They sound amazing. Friendship endures so much bullshit we create during our youth. Time heals and love always conquers. I miss the 80's, THANK YOU SCANDAL. (Class of 1986).
I miss this era of music so much from the early and mid eighties. No cell phone, internet, or social media. We just had each other and our music. I still listen to this stuff in 2023.
RIP Ivan Elias, Frankie LaRocka who played drums on their debut EP passed about 6 months after this episode debuted, and Benjy King keyboardist who passed 9/20/2012.
Scandal was underrated I feel, they were a great Pop Rock band with an edgier sound that the normal groups. Patty's vocals were so good and Her voice carried so much Power while still showing such Femininity. Tough as nails on the outside She was a Warrior. Scandal was a good group that could have gone on to be so much more if they could have held it together.
Totally agree their management suppressed any ambition beyond the US yet MTV showed their video s globally j don't remember a European tour because in 84 I would have been front stage 🤘😁
Awesome. Takes me right back to the 80s. I can only imagine how powerful this reunion is for the band members. This bands reunited episode is evidently from 2004. Another 20 years has gone by. Crazy. The power of a great/sexy female lead vocalist is incredible. Thank you Patty and all of your bandmates.
Why didn't Vh1 try to reunite Triumph? Instead they tried to reunite Extreme...and that attempt failed. Great to see a lot of these bands reunited. But a lot of bands deserved it more. Triumph was definitely one of them.

So much FUN!! So FREE a time to go through my twenties!! Hats off to SCANDAL for doing this!! Just saying!! Have a great day!!!
Benjy was an amazing guy. I used to participate in a music forum where he was an active member, and he was absolutely the nicest and most authentic person you could imagine. He was just as emotional and sensitive as you see here, and he was completely comfortable with it. Everybody loved him. And one day the news broke that he died of a head injury from falling down the stairs of a subway station. It was shocking and absolutely heartbreaking. I never even met him but it saddens me to this day. He was very special.
Impressive, one of the best sounding groups from my era .., i am no musician but for me the songs are so important....i am of the mtv generation and the music is still amazing to listen to
20 years after this aired which was 20 years after the broke up,I am just now seeing this. I loved Scandal from the first time I heard them especially Patty ( since I was a middle school boy at the time). I got chills and goosebumps hearing them perform on this program. I hope in the end if nothing else, they kept in touch and stayed in each other’s lives. I haven’t researched or looked up their aftermath and choose to remember them having this happy ending even though Ivan was visibly missed and fondly remembered by the band.
OMG! I didn't know the show was old at all, I thought it was from last year or right before the lockdowns. DANG! You are right about it being that old. So much for fashion and hair styles not changing one bit since they made this to be able to tell. All those who point out that the 21st century is a creative dead zone really get backed up by this video and those steady hair and clothes styles. The only way to tell what era something is in in this century is the phones and TV screens, everything else is stuck.
It was so good to find this on You Tube. I remember when this show originally aired and the Scandal reunion was the one I remember the most. I have thought of this show many times over the years but couldn't remember the name of the show or what network I seen it on. Tonight just randomly I watching You Tube stuff and up pops "Bands Reunited - Scandal and it's like oh my God there it is. Man it was emotional for me to watch this. What a rush. Always loved Scandal. I loved the guitar tones in this band. They were more clean sounding with less distortion that what was the norm when this band came out. The guitars are very good. And then there is Patty, I always thought she was so beautiful and what a super great voice. Thanks Vic for posting videos from this series. I look forward to watching all the rest of them. All I can say is wow !
I loved this band so much. A buddy from work turned me on to them so we got tickets to see them at the Roxy in Hollywood when the EP was getting tons of airplay on KROQ in Los Angeles. They totally killed it and I was crushin’ hard on Patty. Good times.

What a great happy ending. I watched this one and the one on The Motels, and to my surprise, especially on the one with The Motels, the band mates seem to have been very honest. Some did not want to come back, some were really angry about the break ups and in both cases, the reuniting allowed old wounds to be healed as new information came forward taking away a lot of the sting of the break ups. One of my all-time favorite videos. Great memories of early MTV. Fabulous song: great energy especially Patty, Great interaction with the band during the video. A real treasure.
Never realized how much I liked this band till today. I really liked everything they made. I honestly had not thought about them in 30 years but by God it brought memories of friends and middle school and MTV and drinking with friends at the lake by a bonfire.

I liked this episode- a lot of good came out in the end. Glad to see some of the guys played with her long after this show. Sad to hear that Benjy passed away. They all have such a great sound together. Gotta love the 80s. Miss that music.
My last high school year and Patty bopping around in the red outfit...... My goodness, this was an excellent show reliving the 80's from rural repressed Michigan to Phoenix, AZ in USAF and we were all on our 20's partying to the songs on Warrior. The time and vibe was incredible.

I saw Patty in the 90's touring with Rod Stewart. She was doing acoustic songs. It was really good and her voice is one of the best in rock. She did an acoustic version of Goodbye to You. There were a lot of calls from the audience to do Warrior but she never did it... it was an unusually cold night in June at an outdoor venue so that might have had something to do with it. Rod had a lot of trouble with some of his vocals and I think that cold air was hard on their voices. But it was a great show... very memorable. It was very touching to see them get back together and heal some old wounds. I really appreciate the professionalism and their willingness to do something hard and put themselves out there one more time. As we age, we often have regrets and so little opportunity to forgive and be forgiven. What a great concept this show was...

Wow. Patty sang this song in the same key as the original version when she was in her 20s. Her voice held up! Amazing! Most older singers have to bring the key down because they can't hit the high notes the way they did in their younger years.
