- Part of the video series I am currently working on called the Holley Creek Project. I have been documenting field research of the Timberline Bigfoot Group since 2005. This series is focused on the research done and the encounters researchers have had with undocumented bi-pedal walking primate most have described as a bigfoot.

My experience:
Back in the late 90s before I joined the service I was working a diner type job that usually required me to be a closer as everybody hated late night cleanup. It was spring time in the Black Hills, I had to drive about 12 miles to get home. Stayed later than usual cleaning up the restaurant that night. Nobody on the roads really as I drove out of town into the hills. I liked driving at night with the windows down, no radio, air was a comfortable temp, it was close to a full moon so in the hills the moonlight was pretty strong letting you see most things clearly. The highway was one lane each way winding through the mountains to an elevation of about 4500 feet. Some country style houses with roughly 1-2 acres of yard for each. You could see anything in the open clearings outside of the pine trees with the moonlight. Had some experiences of unusual things as a kid but this was a first as I was older. Drove a lifted old ford pickup that stood about 7ft to the top of the cab, my eye level about 6'5 while sitting inside. Was about 4 miles from my destination and had just passed some houses then started coming up on a small restaurant on the left. The highway opened up to allow for a left turning lane. I was about 200 ft from the turn and started to see a dark object standing in the turn lane. Caught me off guard, I had felt things watching me in the woods before but never anything substantial. As I drove up on it going about 55-60 mph, I was squinting to figure out what it was. Happened almost as if in slow motion, covering the 200ft felt like a moment stopped in time as I realized the figure was as tall as the cab of the truck, with a long arm stretched out as if to try to touch my elbow as I had it resting out the truck window. It was at least 7ft, dark like a shadow, almost half in, half out of this reality, felt feminine, definitely not trying to scare or harm me, absolutely wanted to make contact. I don't scare easy but I can feel when "unique" things are near my presence. Every hair on my body was standing up, my adrenaline had shot through the roof, eyes wide open, mumbling to myself as I kept driving, almost drove through the next turn, felt an absolute electrical charge pulsating throughout my body, my body/energy was in shock from feeling something never experienced before. I was young so it scared me but now older, I see it was being friendly to me. Some are meant to see, some are not but you have to have a good heart/energy for them to want you to know. I served 15 years after, seen two hostile fire combat deployments, held a security clearance that required a polygraph and been exposed to many classified projects. What I wrote here is true. I've worked alongside men whom killed for a living, each of us have unexplainable stories so to those of you in the civilian world, do not discredit something because it gives you fear. Temper your fear and experience something beyond a closed mind, we exist on this planet together. Death is watching you the moment you're born into the world.
Dang Brother, that's a great encounter! I believe ya! I was with David ( they gentlemen in this video telling the story) in 2012, in the same area that this encounter took place and he and I had one come up to the vehicles at night while we slept. I'll tell you this, its a heck of a lot creepier when they are right outside your car door. The shock is certainly understandable! Your body and mind want to do go separate directions. You know I've thought that same thing each and every time David, myself or other researchers have an encounter. I bet they tell the others about "what they saw!" Stories like these are what look forward to when on expeditions.

I had a simular event in 1988, but, mine took place on the Tortola Island in the British Virgin Is. I was walking down a hill side at 3am after visiting some friends.
Something or someone was stalking me in the jungle on the road sides as I walked down the gravel road. I got about half way to the main road that circles the Island where there was a street light. I started running as fast as I could and could hear it run as well. I hit the main road and kept running but didn't hear it anymore. Still I kept running till I hit the populated area near the marina where I was staying.
I've always wondered what the hell was following me that night. Man or beast?

Sounds like a Sasquatch. That's what they do, parallel people from the 🌲 tree line.
Virgin Islands, I never heard bigfoot from there, I'm thinking maybe aliens have been transporting them to remote areas and dropping them off and helping them cloak next to population. Like watchers, too many similar stories and I've seen them a few times in daylight right next to my house, so I know what it's like being surrounded by them, every hair and senses in your body are screaming at you to grow, the whistles all around you and tapping and knocks, weird bird sounds all the stuff you ever heard about happening all at once so you know there's no doubt what's going on.

only encounter I ever had happened on a lake island full of deer. this was a island during summer pool. most of your
encounter was very close to mine as far as no flashlight and stopping and walking when I did growling and staying in front
of me just outside of the makeshift torch I cobbled together after the growling started after midnight. got a glimpse of this booger once which was enough to get the #=!÷ out of there. I say 6.5-7ft tall eyeshine once off torch
I don't blame ya. I'd be pretty scared too with just a torch! The island that David was on was due to the lake being up higher that year.. I believe now it is connected and is more of a high hill mountain top penninsula. I've got more stories to be recorded this winter so stay tuned!

Wow now that's the kinda first encounter that alot of people dont come back from.especially where the squatch was so aggressive and chasing you.you both where lucky to have made it back to the boat safely.
Indeed! This was not me in this encounter, actually was David Holley and his friend. I am actually a researcher partner with David who has been filming a number of David's stories and encounters. Yes they were lucky to get off that mountain. This story has always been one of my favorites.

This project is still ongoing. David has a lot planned in the months ahead... so I am looking forward to more filming soon! We just have to wait til things cool down in temps again.

Hello Paul, David has had two encounters with a snout faced bigfoot. I personally have not seen a dog man but I hope to not run into one. I have only had an encounter with the more Chimp like Bigfoot of the southern states. Though I would like to see one because though scare as it may be I am a bit fascinated with them. The area where we currently research has a number of reports of them. We'll be returning there early after the new year.
What was the significance of him picking up the triangle shaped rock and setting it in the middle of the game trail
You know Richard, I am not sure.. I have always wanted to ask David why he thinks his friend did. I suspect that maybe he wanted to mark the trail, in case they ever went back. He friend swore he would never go back to that spot on that mountain. He simply couldn't emotionally handle going back even after 41 years. I'll try to ask David why he thinks he put that rock there, next time I see him.
Why the stone was put in the path?
That's a good question. My buddy had intentions of returning with me when he left the US Army. After 3 years he decided he didn't have the heart to go back
. I have asked for the last two years for him to return. He's declined. But I did get the answer to your question this past October [2022]. He marked the trail for me. I haven't gone back to Rebel Mountain because I have no boat. Working on that.

My question is this: Where can I find the stories written by Mr Holly that were on the Dead Man Talking channel a couple years ago? I liked those stories, and can't find them anymore.
Lee I believe he may have had a falling out with that group..but I will see if he plans on writing more in the future.
Tell ya what.. honestly, Robert.. I'd say the hillfolk. We've had some run in's with them out that way indirectly around the camp area and with no cellphone signal, criminal hillfolk and the area used a lot for drug trafficking .. I'll take a bigfoot peeking in my tent over those folks any day. lol

I've watched a few movies depicting them, but like everything in the movies, you really don't have a real clue.
I'm a researcher here in Arizona. I'm in a real real hot spot. So hot, that every group that we get together, they get freaked and never show back up. I mean, the bigfoot scare the royal hell out of me! I'll say that outright to anybody.
But are you saying the Hillfolk scare you even more than a bigfoot?

The place located near there has in fact scared many men from the place, never to return again.

I don't believe in Werewolves..but David and I DO believe in Dogman type of Bigfoots. Stay tuned cause we will have some videos coming on that topic.

Technically, Black bears inhabit southeast Oklahoma..they do go into the water. Just not standing up at 8 and a half feet tall.

No problem amigo! Yes Dave's a slow talker and I also have to give him time to think and recall some of the stories given that it happened decades ago. I do have other researchers/witnesses I'll be interviewing soon.. they vary in age and I'm excited to hopefully post more. I'm aiming to keep stories at about 7 min.
I personally had no issue with it. He wanted to have the listener understand, and his facial expressions and voice give the story in a way that explains the seriousness of the situation.
