Great discussion, the project management role in construction has a lot of variance across companies. Getting a clear system with documented processes seem to be one of the keys here.
Hm..currently getting a degree in project management and they keep hammering communication, communication, communication as a key skill. In fact, one of my assignments this week is creating a communication plan. We’re being taught how to structure and manage a meeting. All of these things I thought were rudimentary, so is he saying they’re not? I was told I was wasting my time by going back to school and I could just be a project manager without it. So is that most project mangers become project managers thru career maneuvering and not necessarily their foundational skills?
