Judges gave Adam the win against Conor because they didn’t see Adam impede Conor’s transition. Adam knows first hand they are gonna overlook the contact if he kept going

Matfield simply stopped drifting to get closer to Adam, he walked in a straight line and when he got closer he hit Adam making him lose control and the guy still wins the battle, seriously this isn't the first time I've seen errors in judgment and This battle is only having repercussions because Adam is so well known. I believe it is time for new judges who are impartial
yup. as a chase driver, you just need to plow into the lead driver to win.
One of the judges that voted against Adam was on his team last year and Chelsea's spotter and they're friends? Surprised?

Rome had his car nearly written off from hits by the chase car, pushed off track and was put at fault, Adam was put at fault for an impeded lead line, which other drivers had go their way for the exact same reason, and all of this to ignore the fact that the judges cannot properly see that zone from where they sit due to the smoke.

@@formuladrift Remember when you told everyone it'd be three days and they'd forget? People aren't forgetting the terrible judging that has seen one person literally run off the track due to multiple impacts (Rome) and seen another person literally have to shut their car off after their lead line was made impossible due to the chase car hitting them.
Imagine how much better it would’ve been if the judges showed up
I imagine a world where before someone makes a rude or insulting comment, they perhaps do a modicum of research on the actual series they are watching. It’s rules and the logic behind them, who the judges are, their backgrounds, who they also work for and have worked for. Maybe watch a video or two or listen to one of our info podcasts on rules or better yet, maybe there is a FD mod I can talk to who works in the FD office and sits one door down from the president and across from the competition director. And if I come away from that with a better understanding and still have issues with rules conceptually or in application, at least I know what I’m talking about regarding FD. And if I don’t want to do that, maybe I should just be a bit more humble when something confuses me in a sport that is built on non-intuitive things and that is also massively complex. Man, that would be awesome.

@@formuladrift yes. Yes it does…. It had never been this bad that multiple people got screwed. How can you transition on time after getting bumped twice (odi and Rome) and since when has contact just been ignored as far as messing up lead drivers. You can say whatever you would like. However. Based on all of drifting and the calls made in previous years. This goes against all of it. And no protest. Rushing through the livestream. Having interviews during other peoples battles. Acting like it’s ok because it’s someone y’all love talking over the little guys runs. While someone MADE A LEGIT PASS. So many things wrong. Love Reese Marin. Dealt with his judging multiple times. Never had an issue. So I’m not personally targeting judges. But damn. Some really bad calls regardless
@@haydenk77 the rules this year I think are keeping their hands tied. Lots of situations that in previous years would have made the decision easier. Now it seems like a free for all.
@@haydenk77 No, it’s doesn’t. We’ve had the best Japanese drifters, a five person panel, former drivers and now we have one of the exact judges from Driftmasters and one of the most well-respected drifting voices in the industry who drives, coaches drifting and was on Adam LZ and Chelsea’s team just last year and also Chelsea’s personal spotter during his championship run. Trust me, it matters not.
@@formuladrift there's no reasoning with these clowns. They demand judging be "fixed", then sing hallelujah praises when new judges are announced in the off-season, only to berate the same judges they lauded as saviors months before.

@@formuladriftI think replying to people with paragraphs trying to explain things when people 1.) don’t wanna change their mind 2.) don’t bother reading it 3.) just disagree, only adds fuel to the fire when it could be addressed publicly once and left at that. I think some of the calls were off, but I’m not a judge nor do I know all the rules. I just want to see a good show. However from an outside perspective, it looks like you guys are just arguing with viewers (in the comments) and I don’t see any benefits coming from it.

Given FD's response to almost unanimous criticism of the judgement at this event and last, i wouldn't be surprised if this series died off to make room for a replacement. Sad, i genuinely enjoy watching this on UA-cam.

I’m not here to complain about the call, it’s a split moment decision that (stupidly) can’t be changed. Protesting on the other hand; That’s what needs to make a comeback for 2025

As somebody who has been keeping up with the sport for almost 20 years, something needs to be done about the judging.

We were kinda worried about that actually considering one of the judges was on Adam’s team last year and they are super friendly. I guess we can assume, even if you think he’s wrong, he’s got integrity and conviction.
If only judges were fair, they would had seen that field didn't give adam a room to transition ....

I think the new rules are pretty good. But I agree. Protests should still be a thing. But its their choice not OURS.

Fd really start to suck separating the judges and not letting talk to one another is the only fix . Unless all fd drives throw cash at them then that want fix it either.
We’ve done that. It really makes no difference. And their screens are blacked out so no one can see their vote + when they talk, they aren’t saying, “who are you voting for, he he?” They are saying, did you see this, what was that, because if they can confirm they saw what they saw, it actually helps the process because 2 minds is better than 1 and 3 is better than 2. Final point in how you know those discussions make no difference is there are multiple calls where they not only vote Driver A/OMT/OMT, they more than a couple times vote Driver A/Driver A/Driver B which typically happens on super close battles, so that become evidence against collusion. Just go back and check for yourself.

@@thegrouch6666 Not because his car exploded. Regardless if you agree that Odi was at fault for Rome going off course or agree with the judges that Rome was at fault for going off the course, the fact remains that once the lead driver incompletes the run is over and the chase driver need not finish it because of factors of danger. However if the chase incompletes, the lead does need to finish the run because he has clean air and is unobstructed as the lead. Whether or not you agree with the fault, do you see why the run is over if the lead incompletes, shuts down, crashes, spins, etc than if the chase does it?

yall out here acting like you would be the best judges ever give em a brake theres new rules and judging this cant be easy im sure thell get better at seeing things as the season goes on but its not that deep
The same can be said for judging, it's not that deep, it's not that hard, it doesn't take much to understand the rules you made yourself, how is it hard to implement them if you created them in the first place with a clear goal and idea in mind ? What are the rules impeding on when it comes to proper judging, why would the rules built to help the judges you know... judge these runs be impeding them in the first place ? You aren't making any sense. They have plenty of experience too, this isn't the first time bad calls have been made, and almost everyone agrees it was a bad call, nobody but the judges and people who work for FD actually disagree. The driver (AdamLZ) made a UA-cam video showcasing exactly what happened inside the car in the battle where that bad call was made and it's pretty clear that it was the chase drivers fault, and the chase driver made plenty of mistakes previous to that one, yet they give them the win, that's the issue, it's all inconsistent.
@leofhr2966 I see where your comming from but in the video he also explained how even though he disagreed and thought it was a bad call he kinds understood how the judges were getting what they got and did say that he was not upset with them and then just tday in an insta story said how he didn't care about the call anymore and wasn't upset about it, and they can't know exactly how a rule change is going to play out in actual comp until a round or 2 in so there getting used to the new rules aswell and I'm not saying that I agree with the call and every thing the judges did and said but I am seeing where they could have there problems and don't think people should be dissing the judges this way
@apac1012 Well okay, fine. I will see eye to eye on it that way. I just hope that if this is true they will at least attempt to improve themselves from now on, because at this point there are no more excuses, people have voiced their concerns, we have seen the issues and know what to fix and what doesn't work and what does. Can't be making these mistakes again. Bring back protests, or implement a sensor that can read the G's of the driver so when they get into an impact you can see how it affects the driver or the car in general. Also I would rather we have rules go back to being a bit more punishing for poor drifting overall, you can't have that many mistakes in a run and still win. Judges should also not be making calls on opinions when it comes to contact from the chase driver hitting the lead, like with Adam getting hit by Field or RCP getting hit by Odi. Both got hit and interrupted them but judges didn't see it that way in their opinion. They need to be 100% sure without a doubt objectively factualy and truthfully know it wasn't the case.
@leofhr2966 I do decently think that there are some rules needing changed because there were some bad calls I just don't think people should diss the judges so hard just yet
@apac1012 People need to voice their opinions, it's the only way things ever get attention these days, if they don't wanna be dissed or if we want people to be civilized than there needs to be better communication and management
