Biden never 'promised' anything. It was a 'proposal' and would have to pass by majority vote before it would go into affect. They never promise anything because one person can't do it alone.
$200.00 wouldn't even touch 1 of my dr. Bill's! The more they raise my S.S. the less help I get medically. My body is falling apart, with no help from Medicare or my insurance. It makes my co-pay & my % higher to pay. 🤷♀️

Social security has not even caught up to ongoing prices for years now. With inflation running this high our income is not even liveable. It is a joke.

Yeah the 200.00 raise for social security means that housing cost goes up and you end up losing the food stamps that you barely get so it's a lose lose actually
SS benefits haven't kept up with inflation since 1979, 1980.
THOSE NOT ON THESE PROGRAMS WOULD GREATLY BENEFET FROM THE 200 DOLLARS BECAUSE WE GET NO DISCOUNTS... FOOD STAMPS... SUBSIDIZED HOUSING OR THINGS LIKE THIS .

It's very strange that this situation with the 200 dollar increase per month is taking so long and is in a preliminary talking point about a bill, when 13 billion going to Ukraine takes a couple hours. Something is wrong here..... Yeah no doubt that reconciliation is going to be utilized to get this done.

The SS raises are great, the costs for Medicare needs to be capped. Takes a big bite out of the COLA raises every time. Medicare is up to $170.00 a month for 2022.
Yes, they have inflation too. Do you know how many claims they have to pay out every year?

This is exactly what needs to happen in this country, how is it right our elderly have to live in poverty in the last years of their lives, many are disabled, and have worked all their lives and they have to worry about food insecurity and medications they need to be comfortable and live in some circumstances. It is the right thing to do. And why is it every time they talk of helping the most vulnerable in our country they are so worried about how they are going to pay for it but can send billions to other countries, give themselves raises and how they will pay for that is never discussed at all.

We need a raise we worked for it…but I am not expecting anything ..Not even a 2023 cola raise..I just can’t stress any help other then what I’m already getting on ssdi.. this has just dragged out the last year I’m over it..More and more are becoming homeless.. there is not enough affordable housing and Congress holds the key Biden doesn’t..

I watched the hearing yesterday on C Span.All the Democratic Senators supported the bill as is while all the Republican Senators like Mitt Romney Scott of Florida and Graham of SC all had serious reservations about the proposed bill.So here we go again. I worked hard for 55 yrs, never made enough to save. My rent and electric bill have gone up so much I'm eking by. If you have a Zoo nearby the Rye Crisp Crackers are .75c a package and if you can get a sale at pet smart on Lil Friskies it's enough protein to get by on. Peanut butter is way up but if you cut coupons it's a lil cheaper.
