The sad thing about this whole saga is that they are promoting and selling to their children what they never had their fathers or grandparents said. If a man denies his identity, who exactly is he? A grown man refused to answer the name his grandparents passed on to him. What a disgrace.

Every school, higher education, university were forced to teach the fake history that Ijaw owed river state with all kind of fake histories, lectures, projects like forcing name changes and language from abia isu ndoki Igbo in bonny, opobo, okirika to ijaw names and languagein the 1970s. This was official River state government policy supported by the Nigerian federal governments.
There are Igbos from old anambra and imo in the 1970s without the same pressure who changed their names and religion to get position. Some Igbo even in Anambra claim bini just because British favoured bini monarchy for indirect rule. Today you see Igbo people in anambra carrying bini style swords which has no record before colonisation.
This is about re-educating our people about the true facts and history. Ijaw are a scattered in bayelsa and insignificant minority in rivers and neighbours of riverine Igbos. All these fake ijaw stories about River state must be rejected because how can you educate a person if in one mouth you speaking lies and in the next mouth you are trying to teach them facts.

You realize that Igbo is a nation of tribes with different dialects? For instance Owerri people say Mmanu but Anambra say mmadu, even within Imo state some people still say mmadu. So if you see Owerri man whose surname is mmanu you will start correcting the person or you will misrepresent it to mean oil? Another example is ulo -house, owerri people cLl it ụyọ, will now say it's wrong? My problem with some igbos is that buoy people have very loud opinion BUT yet lack adequate knowledge! You people must educate yourself before trying to speak with authority on cultural identity matter! I blame our parents and when I say parents u mean great great great grand! They failed in the responsibility of educating our people about who we are!

Okirika are part of the Igbos. In 1920+, when fire engulfed the community, the Igbo men and women left in great numbers with 2nd handed clothes. From that time, 2nd handed clothes start to answer Okirika to date. Again , please should stop putting pressure on Igbo unity. Hungry is what bundled us together in the ancient days. The same will come back to unify us again. An adage said that those who forgot the history of their fathers' land shall be forced by nature to remember it . The era of free food is gone , soon, the food God gave to us ( oil ) that we did not value or make use of will go. We will remember our relationship like the Jews that shed tears at the river of Babylon when they were mocked to sing the song of God in pains. We will all remember our mistakes and will forget ahead in empty hands. From the current prophet of Umuezumezu

Who , What is the name of the person that Changed Obigbo to Oyigbo ???
I think the person and his generation are supposed to be made known their evil and the intention of his actions.

Nicknames have always been a part of human nuanced referencing. The hausas call Igbos 'Yamiri' because they couldn't pronounce 'Nyem Miri'.. igbos call Yorubas 'Ndi Ofe Nmanu' because of their oily soups. 'Ndi Ohuhu' was a reference to Mbaise people by their 'Ngwa' kinsmen for missing numerous opportunities to cross the Imo River when tides were low because of their preoccupation with roasting yams to quench their hunger as they waited on the banks of Imo River. This must have been around 'Ezinihite' which has the closest proximity to the other bank of today's 'Ngwa' land. With time, 'Ndi Ohuhu' became a euphemism for Igbos of Non-Ngwa extraction. 'Ngwa' by the way was the reference by their Mbaise kinsmen depicting their 'Ngwa Ngwa' agility that enabled them cross the big river, Imo, ahead of the tide's resurgence. The reference was so apt to the subject in review.

The prominent of those using igbo denial for political interest is Wike. He thinks he can fool the Hausa/fulani. Unfortunately, they knew the game more than his little brain could take. The more you deny your identity, the more you loose your value. By the way, I would rather be an Igbo than any other tribe in Nigeria.

Igbos are one wherever they are. This confusion was brought in by the northerners to win the war. The Ikweres are more Igbo than my own town and I am from Imo State.

Imagine Nyesom Wike, a man I hold highly coming on national TV to say he is not an Igbo man. From that day his troubles started and there is no end to them.
