THANKS AGAIN TO THOSE WONDERFUL MEN/WOMEN WHO PUT PICK PETERS INTO THE LIME LIGHT.. E''SEE PUPO ADUPO.
POINT OF CORRECTION YOU WILL SAY, (YORUBA), NOT NIGERIANS OK NIGERIA IS JUST A MERE GEOGRAPHICAL EXPRESSION SAYS BY OUR MODERN PROPHET LATE CHIEF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO.
GOD BLESS YOU YOUNG FOLK,MAY YOU CONTINUE TO GROW IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS. YOU ARE VERY MUCH ON POINT,IT IS A NIGERIAN FACTOR,IF ANYBODY THINK OTHERWISE,THAT IS THEIR CUP OF TEA.
Ooh what sad news. May the Lord grant him eternal peace and rest. I love most of his music, and I'll continue to listen to them. Once again rest well bro in His blossom.
EPP must be the most under valued and under appreciated Juju musician of all time. His musical talent, composition, Octane voice, composition etc is second only to our legendary KSA.
Peter is a great musician I so much love. by the special grace of God he will come back again, distinctive voice that can not be copied with high sense of composition will come back again. ALH bamidele Alasì
Oh! Is this man still living? How I'll love to meet him and I wish he try his possible best to come back. People would love him and I'll attend his shows too to shake what my mama gave me lol😂😂. It's never too late, I do wish he can start singing again for I know people would appreciate him. Bless.
Pick Peters is one of the Juju musician you can regard as 'great' .....KSA,DELE ABOIDUN...and of course EMPEROR PICK PETERS ARE CONTEMPORARIES IN THOSE DAYS.
You are wrong. KSA is his senior not contemporary but I agreed with you that Dele Abiodun is his contemporary. He actually refer to KSA as Oga in his interview with Ejire in show called Agbaagba Pelu Emperor Pick Peters. You can find it in you tube
Juju music is not made for a particular person there no point of saying this is a copy-cat of sunny Ade or anyone, everyone endowed with talent and style of music
I care less about any perceived or conceived rivalry between Juju musicians of the 70's. Half the time, so called battles were media concocted to boost sales while the artists smiled to the bank and drank beer and fine wine behind closed doors. The sad thing however, fans and supporters thought they were actually in a real battle, persuading these artists to sometimes align with the occult...the rest is History...
He came on the wrong side of fan divide. Chief Bolarinwa Abioro promoted him to become the next cash cow after Sunny Ade left his African Records/TYC label. EPP came after Sunny while fans turned against him. Dele Abiodun was on the side of KSA and enjoyed the limelight when Sunny was banned from releasing any new record under his label; Sunny Alade Records. Sunny was sued for breach of contract to the tune of N950K, almost a billion in today's money but Gani rescued him with a slap on the wrist fine of N300. EPP was promoted so much but had limited fan base. He launched a grand event in Hotel Frontier in Idi Iroko. The hotel is almost a museum today, patronised mostly by smugglers. Unless the young guys know the full story, there would be some errors. Listen to this record... Who is this Agba iya? EPP fought two battles against KSA and Dele Abiodun and lost both. Talent without manners would always end up in disaster.
You are 100% correct. This album was a complete response to Sunny Ade’s (Ekilo fomo ode) and Dele Abiodun’s Ojebi ojebi omo ode. He was promoted by Abioro to fight Sunny Ade and Dele Abiodun, He was a great musician, but met forces stronger than him.
This really brings back good memories of the late 70's. I like Pick Peters and his music, especially the album, "Peter N'aja Kan". Excellent rythm. Wish to meet him someday! Thank you Mr. "groovemonzter" for posting this! Would you be so kind to upload "Peter L'aja Kan"---please?
I love juju music too much most the old ones like this, juju music is so decent even most juju singers are decent, the type of music you listen to show your behavior and your way of life, music and fashion will always change the world, we listen to music to learn not to misbehave.
Hi ! Sekoni, u damn right, but for every one u need to have foresight, which Peter lacked during those days he allowed to be used by his music label, which I don't wanna mention, he was used against top musician who got fame than him, I 'll not mention d musician name, overall, during that time he Peter made his mark, but....... wait I haven't arrived, I 'll get back to u
Emperor Pick Peter... was out there to give Sunny Ade, a run for his money...but we all know the story..Abioro the label owner thought otherwise when he withdrew the musical instruments he bought for this great talent...sort of misunderstanding between them... the rest is history...
I always remember him, but unfortunately he didn't come out neutrally, he came out with what I can call "Hypocritical dimension" by record label and d producer that brought him out ( Abioro ) TYC Records.
All the guitar arrangement and Rhythm are similar to King sunny Ade (Ekilo fun Omo Ode album) From my findings I was told this album was released before Ekilo fun omo ode, So technically King Sunny Ade copied this album.
what drugs are you on? Laughable ! Perhaps you meant the other way round. KSA was already a superstar before Emperor started music. In fact, Emperor said he keyed into KSA'S style as against Obey. hence the similarities.
@@Zendaya63 must you throw insult to make a point?I only referred to this particular album Omo ode by Emperor pick Peters.I never said he started before Sunny Ade,All I said was that this particular album gave birth to king sunny Ade Ekilo fun omo ode.
who is Sunny in the presence of emperor peter go and find research. This is the original owner. He is the first musician to buy Volvo car with tv in whole Africa around 60s.
Justin Bola Mr Justin, we aint talking about buying cars here, we are talking about their legendry life. They are both great artist and an enviable icons, but Peters should not be compared to KSA please. Even,in the late 80s/90s he apologised to KSA for he wrong doings, claiming he was mislead. Check his FB account for comfirmation
What am saying is that the original voice belong to Apron Peter check it out they send d man to an exile you may not understand. Den things are no taking likely like today both juju and fuji

EPP passed on 2nd November, 2023. Legendary Peters... May you find peace in the bossom of your creator.
I heard a few hours ago that Emperor Pick Peter died, aged 74. May his soul rest in peace!🙏🏿😭
I love his music. He was very underrated.

Music Legend, Emperor Pick Peter. I can't stop loving this man. How I wish the era of this music style and composition come back again.
Unfortunately, music these days has become something else. Just entertainment, nothing to learn from it.
Same here o
Sorry, bro. It won't! 😂

you are 100% right sir
Yes you're right "His opponent attacked these particular album, EKILO FUN OMO ODE KO MA RIN NI IPA ODO

Fine music from a juju prince, much talented, still wondering what stopped this guy.
Its more like who stepped him.
great stuff--what's the name of the song where part of the chorus is "Peters...Peters..." It's got a great groove and you posted it a while ago...
Is Emperor Pick Peter late? Please confirm before telling the living to Rest In Peace!
This is African blues ...
The guy already fuck up, king Sunny and Dele still moving on
Emperor Pick Peter... was out there to give Sunny Ade, a run for his money...but we all know the story..Abioro the label owner thought otherwise when he withdrew the musical instruments he bought for this great talent...sort of misunderstanding between them... the rest is history...

Exactly, which is a real shame.
Emperor Pick Peter Reply to King Sunny Ade what a reply.
Twas a response to Dele Abiodun not KSA
This song sounds like a direct response to Dele Abiodun's Abanije.
That was the trend then. One musician would sing and abused others. Those abused would listen to it and would go ahead to reply word-for-word
Yes EKILO FUN OMO ODE
I still can’t believe how he turned out , his really broke now
There is not much difference between this guy and Sunny Ade.
Frederick Falayi The difference is Sunny's consistency. This guy was equally good then
gud 1
The fight was real not virtual rivalry
Rest in peace Emperor
Peter not left out by then but he didn't choose right and valid music Label and Producer, he was used and dumped by "TYC records owned by Abioro
Where is Abioro today, time flies gone forever, We are all going one day
Very little difference between EPP and Dele Abiodun. Both of them sound like Sunny Ade in their own ways. This was era of juju genre at its peak.
Ramblersinternational
. Well composed, forget story. ....
Is he Pick Peters or Shina Peters?
Pick Peters
nice juju musjc

E kilo was recorded before this album.
fine copy-cat....of King Sunny Ade. Nice concept anyway... good vocal
who is Sunny in the presence of emperor peter go and find research. This is the original owner. He is the first musician to buy Volvo car with tv in whole Africa around 60s.
Justin Bola Go to BCOS Ibadan they will throw more light. Igalaye programe

As a matter of fact,Peters was Dele Abiodun's rival not the KSA's.
