I'm from Zimbabwe but I find this song beautiful the vocals are brilliant!
I just remembered Thunderbolt(Magun) and this song just came to mind. Great song
He is among those great musicians that you can gain from their philosophy rather than the hungry new ones that sing rubbish
You both need to actually shut up and listen to songs from nowadays yes there are rubbish songs but there are also good songs. You can like old music without feeling the need to talk bad about the new ones. You can enjoy both
I remember uncle Tunji Oyelana weekend performances at the Ogun State Hotel, Kuto, Abeokuta Nigeria. I was a little boy then but was privileged to see some of his life performances. Can we travel into the past?
Was just telling my colleagues same. In early 80s, an uncle took us to one of his life performance. I remembered vividly. I love this song!
This is 2023 and this song resonates so well. God bless our culture. Yoruba culture is the best.
I grew up with these songs. My dad was an avid collector and watching him on interview brought back pleasant memories of my childhood. God bless him. A big part of growing up for me. I thank God for him and his contemporaries.
Good old days! Uncle Tunji is legend not given his due. His composition is original and delightful. I hope he is still living.
This music would have been nominated and won Grammy award in its time. If would have stayed on any music billboard during its time.
2024.....I'm still here to listen again & again.... YORUBA DUN LEDE ❤❤❤❤
I love how these older guys have already told us all that we need to know about human beings....I just discovered this guy and Sodipo.
Nothing but Memories ..it further explains the Simplicity of Life.❤❤❤
My Oh My!!! This Brings Back Deep Memories.
It's a pity we don't av dz standard form of creativity in indigenous Yoruba music anymore. Sooo inspiring.
2020 guys. I have been looking for this song without knowing I was looking for it. Big smile on my face
Africa is rich in everything, music, natural resources, talent, lots of things and people. Who says we cannot measure up to the western world. Its only a matter of time. The brain drain to the western world has come and gone. The birth of the return of wealth, expertise, people and most of all our stolen heritage back to Africa has started. and will continue till the glory of the motherland Africa is restored.
I got this song a few years ago...its was soo nostalgic...and connecting... And touching... Lost it for a while... But got it again
2019! Who's still here ?
Reminds me of my late dad. He plays this song on his disc changer. I miss old days. All people want these days is just to get rich in whatever way. No more connection but technology 😢.
I looooove this song. Yoruba language in its beauty
Yoruba great music of all time. Philosophical & inspirational at the same time.
Both dipo sodipo and tunji are just incredible....
Solo play... My dad called dipo sodipo the sole proprietor of his music... Long live my pops
Uncle TJ, when songs were songs, when music was music...... the real deal.
OMG!! i cant just stop crying listening to this song ... I need to trace my root . God bless you sir
I vaguely heard one line of this song in a movie on Amazon Prime today. That one vague line jolted a vague wonderful memory for me and i had to skip nack 10 sec to hear it again to figure out the song and came to UA-cam to find it. I'm so happy i found it. Then i realized i didn't even know the singer. Now I'm thinking maybe i heard in a movie from my childhood or something. Anyway, such s wonderful song to hear again after many decades.
Great music from Oye, masterclasses
This great man is highly unique with his ubiquitous and sonorous voice. I enjoy his music anyday, anyhime. But i'm missing him since he had relocated to the UK some years back. Just like the black man-Akeeb Kareem also did. Great singers with extraordinary talents. Bravo men!
I'm still rocking this in year 2019,if u r here with me give me likes.
Uncle Tunji is a great one man band with his keyboard, I used to watch and listen to him on NTA television Akure in the 80's. I heard he relocated to d UK some years back, I actually heard he use to perform at Deptford area of London., this is one of the great men that Nigeria lost to brain drain, what a shame!
This is great' make me remember when I was much younger when I listen to radio Lagos on a Sunday evening

Salawa, my foot-I laugh when i hear this kind of comment. This folk song came out long before Salawa made her debut. God bless u Rascojet for this.
Went to his joint 'emukay' recently and the old is still rocking. Long life Baba
Oh to be transported back to those days! the air was cleaner, the sun beautiful, life was purer, things were beautiful! the innocence of those days. To think you had to hide Felix Libarty's 'I'm your loverboy' or 'Ngozi' from yur dad! only bad boys played those songs then! How tame those songs sound now to d endless trash we're subjected to now!
2019 and am learning a lot from this song....Legend!

This is a Classic Yoruba Music! I hope Mr. Tunji Oyelana is still with us.
Thanks for providing us with this amazing song.
Tunji Oyelana still sounds great; promoting African culture, via social commentary on the wings of philosophical tunes. Nduka Uzuakpundu.
Wow so great that you uploaded, he played at my Aunty's 40th birthday 18 years ago and till this day I remember the performance so vividly. The best of my youth surely

My people what happen to nigeria my great country, what happen to the 70s 80s and middle and end of 80s, where Nigerian's look after each other care for one another, how the this nigeria turn so evil, selfish and me, my wife and children only. Politician politicians they really have mess up that beautiful country, and the future look so dime. Baba God please come and redeemed nigeria from this evil politicians oooo.
John Benedict Okhue i don't know sir, i don't know. i would give anything to go back to those decades you mentioned
hello over there, i hear you - what you say is not only happening in nigeria, but seemingly all over the world, at least in many countries - when i look at the political leaders in usa, russia and many other countries, i don´t see them lead and rule the land for the sake of their people, but just for the sake of personal power play... :-(
here in germany there is a lot of confusion, we had a big stream of refugees coming in over the years from many countries - many people are frightened from these strangers (and there are quite many bad behaving people among them) - but many who come here are frightened themselves - i keep telling the people around me: talk with the people, listen to them and you will see who they are, bad or good - so there is a lot of mistrust among all the people here - i don´t like that at all, but all i can do is wandering with a smile and trying to be friendly and helpful to others...
hey, i learned about nigerian music from king sunny adé, who toured this country in the 80s and 90s - i first saw him on german tv and then live two times, one time even in my little town here - i was proud to dance to his music just ten meters away from him in person, yessss...
just now i found several nice old style recordings from different musicians (also from ghana and south africa) and i love them! i´m so, so happy to have youtube... :-)
love and greetings from germany
2020 who is here ? Corona is not our potion
