He suggested that I climb using the sausages like I did before but I didn't listen. I said you can sling using the sausages but even if I did I can't grab on to anything. Welp, apparently you can.
fun fact at 19:12 if you stay on the hook by spamming space while having the grab button pressed you can keep going and once six and the hook get out of sight they will both get deleted leaving the player on a black screen with nothing to do because like i previously said six get DELETED the only way to fix this is to restart from checkpoint

Damn I've been trying to speedrun and my fastest time was like 1 hour 30 minutes and that was doing no skips and I died a few times didn't know someone would completing destroy it lol it blues my mind what people can do
I think if no more glitches will be found, we'll be able to save round about 5 to maximum 10 seconds. But your run is extremly well played, I only saw one or two scenes, where you could have saved some frames, but that's it. I'm a Little Nightmares Speedruner by myself and I'm actually trying to find new glitches to break the game a bit more, but it's really hard. But with your run I'll try to improve my speedrun skills in this amazing game!
It's a bit of a mess with offline steam not tracking it (so ln2 doesn't update on launch) and gpu driver issues causing the times to be reset in there as well, but iirc I have about 800 hours in both games combined and a good amount of that is doing a lot of runs, so I'd say that like 250-300 hours was spent not doing runs, but practicing and glitchhunting. Maybe like 200 hours of that was just practicing? I could also be misremembering and it could be way lower but idk
So, as someone who is an avid fan of this franchise (particularly this first game) and has played it many many times but not an actual speedrunner - aside from the achievement/trophy for beating it under an hour without dying which I know you probably laugh at lol - besides the one hunger skip that I noticed was missed in chapter 3 which very well might have been intentional for some reason, what if any changes or improvements can even be made to this? Secondary question being, are you done with this game now or do you still try to improve on that/ if your record is beaten will you run it again?

The moderators on speedrun.com argued, when the rules were being made, that since the part after the mirror shattering was just holding w (up), there was no way to save any time and it's also boring to watch and to play and takes a couple minutes. Therefore, the timer should stop at the mirror breaking. At least that's my assumption because I wasn't there when they were arguing about it.

It's a trick called 0-cycle, where you bait the janitor to go for a grab at the start, so he has to wait there for a bit. Then you pull the first bar before he even arrives and then he enters the fight with the wrong animation and then he can't grab you indefinitely (unless you restart to checkpoint).

I'm really curious, is there a reason why you have such a long pause before going to kill The Lady? I'm fascinated by speedruns but I'm really curious if there's something behind this part in particular?
The timer ends when the mirror shatters (as per speedrun.com rules), because the part after it is basically just a fixed time where you slowly walk forwards. So I went into chat for a moment, and then continued to the credits, as I usually do on a personal best.
According to steamDB the last update was in 2018, which was most likely the update that added the DLC's. It can be assumed that basically nothing has ever been fixed and since Tarsier no longer will be working on LN it seems as though there will no longer be updates on any currently released Little Nightmares games. So no they won't fix it.
I know the vid might be a bit old but if anyone sees this, how can i become more consistent with the chef door trick thing? He always does an instant second grab so i die. Im doing something wrong obviously.
the first one is to spawn on the right side of the room (after the crank), with full stamina. The second one is to clear the bug that occurs when you manage to hop through the bar and also to get a predictable light/cart pattern on the second medusa.
How do you skip the first cutscene? I tried restarting from checkpoint but all it did was restart the cutscene. Does this just not work on the switch and ps4 version or am I doing something wrong?
I don't play on console myself, but looking at switch and PS4/PS5 runs they do the same thing as I do (new game, restart to checkpoint as soon as possible), so I'm not sure how it restarts the cutscene in your case.
The speedrun.com moderators decided upon that when the game came out pretty much, I wasn't there at the time, but I think it's just because the rest of the game is just an autoscroller and not fun to speedrun.
Not only do you need to run on that small background wall, but the jump from it should be done so that you can grab as high as possible on the climbing wall before climbing. And then of course get enough sprintjumps towards the elevator (and you still barely make it in if you do it near-perfectly).
Because it's pretty much just autoscroller after that point, and it's easier to time console runs due to the black screen I'd assume (idk I'm not a verifier)
Is it able to use those bugs on the patched PS4 Version or is that exclusive on PC Version? Couldn’t even tell what let u teleport with that toy brick. :o

I did my first speed run last night. I finished at 1 hr 26 min. Now that I saw some of these glitches I'm gonna try those.

There hasn't been an update for over 4 years so nothing will be patched, but some of them (kitchen clips for example) are just stupid

It can't be grabbed, but interestingly, there is now a trick to get to the '0-th hook', which can be grabbed (it's just difficult).
