  • Enhanced and edited footage from a home movie I shot in 2000 titled "Escape From Thanet". In this sequence, James Hall and myself (along with James` Ex) have visited Kent International Airport ( RAF Manston) to film the Concorde as it makes a visit to Thanet. I was able to film both its departure and return as it made a quick tour of Kent. Editing is underway on Escape From Thanet 5 (trailer elsewhere on here), but is slow going lol. I no longer have the original 8mm tape this was shot on, so this footage has been audio and visually enhanced from a VHS copy and converted from 4:3 into 16:9 aspect image. Little did i know that the age of the concorde would shortl draw to a close - an end of a era...... Hope you enjoy........

I was on that plane! The take-off was truly epic; I remember trying to measure the forces involved, and it came down to trying to reach a magazine rack on a bulkhead (which I couldn't, due to my back being pinned against the seat). Absolutely awesome. (The one thing I regret is never going supersonic.) Thanks for recording this!
