      @annewoodward4422 my comment is not intended to make you feel bad or angry I am just surprised that at 69 years you fail to grasp even basic science, how is that possible? In my country we would never be able to get away with not having basic education, it would be impossible to survive in my country because expectations for all citizens here is to know the basics of everything and this means we must all know the fundamentals of maths, language, business, computing, science, history, religious studies, etc. but you seem comfortable for UA-cam to educate you, do you not understand that people who get their learning from social media are severely laughed at because it means you simply do not know a thing, you have to go online to get answers. That is pathetic.but weirdly, you seem to think it’s okay. That is really odd for a 69 year old.

      OK Abhishek Sharma the seasons are the reverse at both north and south poles whereas when it is summer in the north pole that is north of the equator there's an imaginery line called the Tropic of Cancer, this is where countries north of that line experience summer ( long days and short nights, the Arctic circle receives 24 hours of daylight.
      On the other hand the south pole experience winter solstice that is south of the equator there's an imaginary line called the Tropic of Capricorn hence, countries south of that line receives short days and long nights during winter, the Antarctic circle receives 24 hours of darkness.

      Also, in winter the sun is above the horizon for fewer hours than in summer due to the earth's tilt, therefore less time for heating.

    9:45-10:03. WAS MY AHA MOMENT. Now I get how this tilt causes a country to be hot in the summer and cold in the winter! When you showed how England in the summer is more directly against the sun in the summer and more away in the winter all because of the tilt WHICH STAYS THE SAME during all 365 days, I then had my AHA moment! Thanks so much!

      This is because each country moves along a TILTED rotation which mean sometimes the sun has a more direct access to it, and sometimes a less direct!

    Just to add to this video: the reason you get less energy from sunlight when the angle is sharper is because the sunlight projects onto a larger surface area (everybody can see this with the shadows they cast on the ground when the sun is higher (small shadow/surface area) or lower (big shadow/surface area). and the bigger the surface a given amount of energy (sunlight) hits, the less warmer the surface gets (because less energy per surface area)

    • @fromnorway643
      @fromnorway643 Рік тому +1

      If you ignore the absorption of sunlight by the atmosphere, the energy received per unit of level surface area is proportional to the _sine_ of the Sun’s elevation above the horizon:
      90° 100.0 %
      80° 98.5 %
      70° 94.0 %
      60° 86.6 %
      50° 76.6 %
      40° 64.3 %
      30° 50.0 %
      20° 34.2 %
      10° 17.4 %

    Is this like the academia explanation of seasons to the academics? I understand this is just an English course and this gentleman's babblings do make a good exercise. But the "science" behind it, is just nonsense. First: how do you tilt a ball?
    Second: this gentleman forgets the earth is supposed to rotate on it's own axis, completing one rotation every 24 hours. 6 months later the part of the earth that's facing the sun in the beginning (which would be 12pm noon), has it's back to the sun now... Making 12pm noon to be night?

    • @Mr.Carbon1
      @Mr.Carbon1 3 роки тому +2

      Ball don't tilt, the axis of which earth spins is tilted because it is not perpendicular to its orbital plane. the line earth orbits is tilted, not the ball. your second fact is mostly true, one day is actually not the time one point on earth does one full rotation, rather that plus a little bit that adds up to a half a rotation of time extra per 6 months.

    • @bradislavgorlamski3040
      @bradislavgorlamski3040 3 роки тому +1

      @@Mr.Carbon1 ya, your imaginary axis. There is no axis. And your attempt to explain "one day" aka one 360 degrees rotation in 24 hours... Just makes me laugh. You will do anything to make your fairytale work. So, you're saying after 6 months the rotation that makes one day is 360+180 degrees? I get your point: it's every day a bit more, but that doesn't work. The earth spinns at a constant speed and a full rotation is 360 degrees and a whole day is 24 hours. You need to take into account all factors that make one day. Research flat earth my friend

    • @Mr.Carbon1
      @Mr.Carbon1 3 роки тому +2

      @@bradislavgorlamski3040 God dam you fat earther, looks like this place is filled with you guys. if you looked up more stuff about seasons rotation astronomy etcetera, you will see that flat earth makes a lot less sense when you say a a spinning ball has one side illuminated by the son and the other side in the balls own shadow (day and night). theirs hundreds of reasons why spheres are better better then your square. I should go before I give you more attention.

      @@bradislavgorlamski3040 This is so funny, that you actually think that the earth is flat and yet you call John the 'idiot'? LOL.
      Just out of interest, shouldn't the sun be VERY, VERY, small in the flat earth model, when it's low in the sky in the early morning and late afternoon, compared to its size at midday?
      Perhaps you could explain why the sun remains the exact same angular size, regardless of the time of day, despite the fact, that in the flat earth model, when the sun is low in the sky, it must therefore be a lot further away from the observer than it is at midday?
      You do realise that when an object is a lot further away from an observer, it's also a lot smaller in size?
