if 절 대용으로 쓰이는 without
● 뜻: ~이 없다면(가정법 과거) / ~이 없었다면(가정법 과거완료)
● 가정법 조건절 대용(代用)
1. 가정법 과거

= but for ~ [2개 단어]

2. 가정법 과거완료

: [ ]는 목적격 관계대명사 that(which)가 생략된 형용사 절로 선행사인 명사 'inspiration'을 수식하는 역할을 합니다. 'without'이 가정법 조건절(if 절)을 나타낸다는 것을 아는 방법은 주절의 동사를 보고 결정합니다. 주동사가 'would have been'의 형태를 나타내므로 틀림없이 가정법 과거완료라는 것을 알 수 있습니다.
