I did an exchange year as an international student in California (I'm from Germany) and I didn't know the school or the family I was supposed to live with (not a boarding school) but it all worked out perfectly and 6 years later I still go back and visit ... do happy that it worked out and all I can tell anyone is - do it! It was the biggest leap of faith I have ever taken but the best decision I have ever made!
Official Gym some boarding schools yes. my old boarding school (begged my parents to take me of it) was a school for rich parents who didn't feel like taking care of their kids. or just couldn't because of work. it's a different type of boarding school then she goes to.

There is a lot of places where you don’t have to be good academic... I personally go to a boarding school in Denmark right now where it’s free to go if you just live in Europe, the only thing that costs money here is the food and the room(about 3600 dkk every month)... but there is also uwc, which is a really international school and I’m currently writing my application to go there... so if you really want to go to a boarding school then I promise you there will be one that fits you 😊

Ever since Zoey 101 I’ve wanted to go to boarding school. (I know it’s not like Zoey 101). And my sister took the initiative to look for better school options about 5-6 years ago, and applied to a boarding school. She had struggles while there, with how much money our family had compared to others, and a bunch of other things. But she says that it has helped her so much in so many ways. Now I am going there this August and I am very excited. I am sad to leave my friends but this is a wonderful opportunity for me, and if they are good friends they will stay by my side. It is very expensive but there are ways to afford it (call or email and ask about financial aid or scholarships). There are so many opportunities that you will have at boarding school, as I saw from my sister, and I am already having before I’ve even arrived. But I do have to say, if you are more of an introvert, there will be a larger adjustment for you, but don’t let that stop you from wanting to go, and same goes for athletics and other activities. A lot of boarding schools are very strong about you being in a sport, and me being unathletic is the one thing I’m nervous about. But I hoped this also helped, sorry it’s so long :). If I recall correctly, 500s on individual sections of the 2400 SAT were required for some Duke TIP camps... and you test in 7th grade for that. 1500 is strange considering how prestigious this school is.

No, if your parents decide to send the money to you, you have it. If not, then you don't. No jobs or making money. Meals, buses... everything goes in with the price of however much you are paying for your school monthly or at the end of the year. Also, I recommend a credit card (or debit) so when you take the target bus you don't have to pay cash. Hope I helped.
