I did an exchange year as an international student in California (I'm from Germany) and I didn't know the school or the family I was supposed to live with (not a boarding school) but it all worked out perfectly and 6 years later I still go back and visit ... do happy that it worked out and all I can tell anyone is - do it! It was the biggest leap of faith I have ever taken but the best decision I have ever made!

Private boarding schools have financial aid. You'd just have to pay for aiplaine tickets (if necessary) and health insurence

@@tatyana_mo I suggest you just research boarding schools yourself. You can look for top boarding schools closest to you, read reviews, look through their websites. Research is very important. I can’t recommend a school because they are different. You need to find a school that is right for you
I really want to go to boarding school, I went to a sleep away camp and they also told us what to wear and told us where to be and we slept in rooms with others and I kinda liked it...I want to go to boarding school so bad
Damn I wanna go to boarding school, its seems like fun, but I'm not bad but I'm not necessarily the best academic student, and it would be a weird change going from 50 kids in my grade to well however many.
There is a lot of places where you don’t have to be good academic... I personally go to a boarding school in Denmark right now where it’s free to go if you just live in Europe, the only thing that costs money here is the food and the room(about 3600 dkk every month)... but there is also uwc, which is a really international school and I’m currently writing my application to go there... so if you really want to go to a boarding school then I promise you there will be one that fits you 😊

Ever since Zoey 101 I’ve wanted to go to boarding school. (I know it’s not like Zoey 101). And my sister took the initiative to look for better school options about 5-6 years ago, and applied to a boarding school. She had struggles while there, with how much money our family had compared to others, and a bunch of other things. But she says that it has helped her so much in so many ways. Now I am going there this August and I am very excited. I am sad to leave my friends but this is a wonderful opportunity for me, and if they are good friends they will stay by my side. It is very expensive but there are ways to afford it (call or email and ask about financial aid or scholarships). There are so many opportunities that you will have at boarding school, as I saw from my sister, and I am already having before I’ve even arrived. But I do have to say, if you are more of an introvert, there will be a larger adjustment for you, but don’t let that stop you from wanting to go, and same goes for athletics and other activities. A lot of boarding schools are very strong about you being in a sport, and me being unathletic is the one thing I’m nervous about. But I hoped this also helped, sorry it’s so long :). Also thank you for this video! It helped me in deciding about boarding school :))))

I couldn’t care less about where I live my mom made us move across country so I want to go to boarding school cause I can get away from my family
I am the type of person who doesn’t get homesick and I adjust to basically any situation. Me and my mom also don’t have a great relationship. We love each other more than life itself . But our personality’s clash so I have many reasons to go and I sorta want to go but I am not sure. Any advice.

Also: don’t let anyone fool you, you may not want to hear this but now that I’m going to attend a boarding school your ssat score is a crucial part. STUDY don’t tell me that it’s just as important as an interview, you can do so well in your interview and score under a 60 on your ssat, your getting waitlisted

A 1500 on the 2400 SAT is so low though???? Kinda strange if it's so hard to get in
grace c you have to get that as a sophomore it's not that low
If I recall correctly, 500s on individual sections of the 2400 SAT were required for some Duke TIP camps... and you test in 7th grade for that. 1500 is strange considering how prestigious this school is.

There are no boarding schools in my country. I really want to go to Britain for A level and there is scholarship program /competition which I am going to try out this year. It seems really scary I am 16 and living in another continent is pretty terrifying.

Hello! So, this year, they aren't requiring any SSAT test score due to covid. I'm applying to private boarding schools, and I was wondering if I should still hand in a score. I personally am not confident in my test score, and afraid that why they rejected me last year.

I went on an exchange and went to a random school, I didn't know which school I was going to untill a month before and I didnt get to choose but I sure as heck used every tool to stalk the place, eg google maps
Where I live we go to open day to see the school then we do interviews and then we do an entrance exam

Hi! In your video you mentioned how we need to have extracurricular activities, but I don't think I have any (like, I play the violin but I'm not that good, and I suck at sports). 😅
Most students at my school are very athletic, so there's no way I can join the sport teams. Can you help suggest how to get into more extracurricular activities (I'm kind of introverted too ?)

-_- doing homework you don't necessarily have to be amazing at the violin but you can list that you play it. Join some clubs that don't involve sports like if you take a foreign language join that club or ask your friends what clubs they're in and go with them!

You TOTALLY got this. There are like 15 student essays I’d say just make sure to make yourself seem really independent and hardworking in your essays. Also maybe mention how you want to gain new experiences and be more challenged because the idea of the academy is to follow “no student left behind” which includes honors students who are moving faster than everyone else. When I applied to the academy I had some B’s and got 2 C’s first semester of my sophomore year and was freaking out.

Her school is a state school, meaning that the government helps fund for things like education, whilst private schools are fully independent and self-funded.

Wait, how do you get money. Do you have a job?
No, if your parents decide to send the money to you, you have it. If not, then you don't. No jobs or making money. Meals, buses... everything goes in with the price of however much you are paying for your school monthly or at the end of the year. Also, I recommend a credit card (or debit) so when you take the target bus you don't have to pay cash. Hope I helped.

Hey, so I really want to go to a nice prestigious bording school, but I have a few concerns I was hopimg I could get some help about.
So first off, I'm already a sophomore and I was wondering if it was too late for me to go. And this is really two concerns, the firdt being just that I'm simply too late to go and I should have started when I was a freshman. The second is that I go to a pretty low level, inner city public school currently, and have been both of my high school years so far, which brings me to the concern that given my acclimation to low standards and a low academic ceiling and my school for two years, it is just too late for me to be able to succeed in an actual prestigious school. I mean, to give you an idea of the level of school I go to, it only has 5 AP classes and few good extracurriculars.
Another major concern I am having involves the sheer logistics of it all. I know that if I meet the requirements of the schools I am interested in, I will be able to afford tuition because all of the ones I am interested in feature full payment for people with income below a certain point. But regarding other fees and stuff, do I need to get a job to support them? And to back up, what other things do I need to provide in the first place?

Dont Fuck With Me UA-cam hey, this is kinda late but it's never too late, better late than never. Try looking for schools, if money is a problem think about financial aid. Most schools will be more than willing to help you. And don't worry about the SSAT or ISEE. Worry more about being yourself. And make sure you write about yourself and not your story or event in the essay. If you wanna talk more about it just message me :)
