      Hello, there. If you don't mind me asking do the teachers stay in dorms there? Do they share the room with someone else? Also, because of the high tax and expensive lifestyle people hesitate to work there so I was wondering if the boarding schools there provide free food and accommodation to teachers like schools in other countries. Lastly, do students want to learn and do they respect their teachers? Looking forward to hearing from you. Loved your content.

    Are the students there aware of how privileged they are or do they even think they are because their parents can pay this amount of money for this school compared to free public schools financed by the state? Would you say or do you think you experienced a 'better' school life compared to what you've heard of others?

    • @NatalieMatz
      @NatalieMatz  3 роки тому +68

      I think that other students are not aware of that and they demand the teachers to basically study for them. I remember my French lessons, where others complained that some things were 'too hard' and I was in a bit of shock because in my previous schools if you said sth like that to a teacher, they would just respond that 'you didn't study enough'.
      It depends on the students, but I often heard them say the school was bad, and other schools were better blabla. Of course, there surely are better schools/environments cause it's all subjective but I think they don't know what they're saying.

      There is a bunch of groups though, I mean I was there for a while and left because I had trouble fitting in because of my nationality. Basically each nationality/race have formed groups and I was the only Indian there so I didn’t have any other indians there. Its mostly dominated by Russians and Asians so if you belong to these groups, this place is a heaven.

I'm considering attending a swiss boarding school but I want to ask someone who has attended one, would you say there is social class bullying or exclusion, like if you have less money than the other girls would you say they wouldn't like you/exclude you or wouldn't be your friend?

    • @parvateshjain2213
      @parvateshjain2213 2 роки тому

      @@jimenavivas9604 hi, I wouldn’t say theres any bullying related to your financial condition since everyone knows that you’re in the same school as them so you obviously have enough money to be considered rich, however you might end up feeling inferior because some kids get way more money than you. Having those feelings is fine as long as it doesn’t reflect in your personality. More often than not, you’ll find some very nice and polite people that do not consider money as a factor while making friends. Overall I would highly recommend you to go to switzerland because the overall environment is great, and it conditions you to act appropriately in different situations .

    I've been in both Swiss private boarding schools and public. The public schools are 100 times better. As a student, you are completely free to do what you please. If you want to skip class, go ahead. Want to go drinking on a Monday evening and come hungover the next day, you can. However surprisingly, students tend to be more responsible given these freedoms. As they know abusing them will likely mean flunking the school year. And unlike expensive boarding schools where they basically gift you the grades. Swiss public schools are competitive since the state doesn't want to waste money on students. In addition to the benefits I mentioned above the type of people, you will meet and the type of person you will become is also a very important factor. Generally in Private schools you hang around the same group of spoiled kids, most of your relationships are drama filled and superficial, often also materialistic. In Public schools, however, you come in contact with people from all areas of life, and it teaches you to be humble and grateful for what you have instead of worrying about others. All in all, if you have the choice: I strongly suggest picking a public school. It's cheaper, you will be less spoiled, amazing university opportunities (If you want to continue studying in Switzerland), and top-tier education.

      I've never been in a public school in Switzerland but in my experience I've been to a private international boarding school in the Swiss alps and it changed my whole life. Of course, we we're very fortunate to go there but we succeeded with the best academic results, we traveled together like a family to different countries around the world like Japan, Columbia, Maldives, England, etc... so we basically met new people who aren't specifically spoiled in several countries. Living in a stricter environment is a lot more disciplined than in public schools and we can all agree on that.
      My boarding school offers so many opportunities that I'm sure that local public schools don't have. My parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles all graduated from Swiss private international boarding schools all attended Ivy Leagues in the USA, London, and Australia. So, to everyone who questions to send their child to a Swiss private international boarding school (Beau Soleil, Le Rosey, Brillantmont, Le Regent, Tasis, LAS, Aiglon, etc...) is the best decision. You will have to pay fees but you won't regret your choice they have so much more than great education that in public schools will never have.

      If you can speak both French and English than you're on the right track. However if you can only speak English than I suppose you might want to learn at least French but it's ok if you're new.
      I'm not really sure about the area but I mean if you live way to far away then boarding school is always there for you.
