Very well explained and reassuring video. I am a very active person, I experience fasciculations on a daily basis and I suffer from anxiety. I was so worried it might be ALS. But hearing fasciculations are worrisome when experienced WITH weakness and atrophy and not the other way around is very reassuring. Thank you.
How long you been twiching?what parts of you body twiching,i had twiching all over my body most common in legs, thigh, feet, mostly on right side of whole leg,but u have twiches on my right legs, also i have twiches on right in left shoulder, fingers,in scared, its been almost two months
I suffered a full body impact work injury a few years ago, my case is still ongoing.....I was told the fall caused a degeneration to begin in my lower back, I have herniation in some of my discs, and my spine convexs to the right, I have a constant pain and stabbing in my lower back. But the pain has radiated to my upper back and neck as well. I also get twitches in my face and body, legs as well. I have had MRIs and X-rays...but I am worried that I am starting to develop ALS...My speech has started to become slurred at times. Certain sounds like “S” “Sh” “Th” etc are affected. I did not sound like this prior to the incident but after three years it seems It came on randomly. My eye (right) also started to close by itself randomly....and bright lights are overwhelming(night and day). This is quite scary to deal with...I have upcoming doctors appointments but they are all trying to make less of the situation because I am up against a Big Company. My only option is to go overseas and get medical work to disprove or give better insight to this development... I never had a history of ANY MEDICAL problems OR MEDICAL WORK before this Injury ; sustained on 11/2016 . I’ve accepted I may have developed ALS....but the fact that corporate America is trying to cover itself from liability is more difficult to deal with. Thank you for your video.
I'm actually under my husband's account lol. You probably have your answers I see your comment was made a while ago. I developed epilepsy in my 40's from a concussion and some of your symptoms sounded like focal seizures I was having before I knew what they were so I thought I would mention it. Best wishes.
My MRI diagnosis is cervical sponlitic Myelopathy.I have all the signs and symptoms of ALS. .I have been told by my PC and two Neurosurgeons it is not ALS.. Could I possibly have both?
💡💡💡Question For any med students: 💡💡💡 what effect would external activation (e.g. electrodes) have on the progression of muscular atrophy? Supplying the activating signals externally to trigger muscle contractions. I know it isn't the same thing as a self-trigged movement but I'm curious. If that wouldn't work, why not implant electrodes on the degenerated motoneurons, allowing one to detect when the patient is sending their weakened signals to them, and then boost their signal with circuitry? Sure it won't give them a high fidelity of control but at least the boosted signal will keep the muscles active? This tech has been around since morse code relay stations. *prepares for the onslaught of insults"
Thanks so much Dr Alaho Olu on UA-cam first of all for who you are as a person thank you for the wonderful work that you do for people in general no matter where you are I will always listen to your podcast and refer people to you because you care about people and the human body I listen to other people but you talk about the true disturbances disorders that means things that are out of order in the human system thanks 🙏 for curing my Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis disease (ALS)..
thank you very much. One new significant detail is that the disease progresses the same way that it had been, so if it took over 3 years for the fingers to stop working, it may take 3 years for the next thing... and by then, the 90 year old person that received this diagnosis may die of other causes. thank you for this hope .

@@butterheads6985 nothing to worry about I also have from past 3 months.
Explained so well. Thank you
Got my EMG report - it says rare/intermittent fasciculations with normal background.
Horrible disease. I watched several relatives die from ALS. Hopefully, A cure is coming soon!
Great lecture, thank you

Thank you for your video.
You should have an EEG done to see if you could be having a type of seizure
@@johnshanklin5467 thank you John

Kennt jemand den Namen des Moderators oder Vortrag geber dieses Seminars? Es,war wunderbar , Dankeschön Herr Professor. 👏🌷🌷🌷,

How many electrodes do you want to implant into the human being?
Idk but something is definitely wrong...
