There are thieving bots at vyres as well, they occasionally teleport into the tob bank, run to the bank and teleport out again, regularly at level 120 thieving or more and have minimum questing stats.

@@stephensmith4124 no it looks like GIM, started slowly declining the second the GIM poll started, then rapidly dropped when GIM started. Not because of endgame players, but just less blood runes used in general. Death runes also had a similar drop in price around the same time but have recovered since. These runes aren't used only in sang/scythe, used in a fuck ton of things. Death runes are used a bit more, probably because ice barrage uses twice as many + trident uses deaths, so their price recovered quicker than bloods. But as more people move back from GIM to normal game I imagine bloods will go back up like deaths did. It's just that the people running these runes are mostly bots, the people using them are not. A lot of them went to GIM for a few weeks, lower demand, same supply, so rune prices crashed.

It's literally, using that word properly, LITERALLY more profitable to ban bots because they always come back. The entire point of a bot farm is to exceed the cost of membership per bot. Yes they buy bonds but real people buy those bonds from Jagex and bots likely drive up the price with more demand. Thus banning bots = more money for jagex. It's real simple.

But this is, simply, not the case, and is antithetical to the very nature of the bot farmer. They bot farm because it is easy for them. If it where to become notably harder, many bot farmers would jump ship. There may, actually, be a viable conspiracy here. It, most likely, is more profitable for Jagex to play both sides. Do just enough bot-busting to appease the player base, but not so much as to discourage dedicated botters. There are, most likely, hundreds of tiny bot farms per week who cash out, and decide bot farming is too difficult. But these, tiny, bot farms aren't buying bonds, so they are of no consequence to ban. However, the dedicated bot farmers running 100's of accounts on virtual machines... thats a different story. To lose 3,000$ every month in bond sales, to one bot farmer who gave up... that's a cash cow out of the door. I mean, if you look at it from a money standpoint, that seems like the most logical course of action. And we shouldn't be surprised. Companies have a rich history of playing both sides, and we always play the fool who believes they don't.
Once exp hits a threshhold it should flag an account for manual inspection. Wouldn't take long to inspect an account to see it's legit or not. Especially with a tool already developed for that exact purpose. Same with xp or GP rates. If an account earns x amount within 24/48 hours it should be flagged for inspection.
Go to Varrock West Bank, W308. You will be blown away by the f2p alchers there. W308 anvil operates in that location and smithers can sell their items for higher than GE price. Due to the ge buy limits on said alchable items, f2p "alchers" will buy absurd stacks of rune 2h's and spread them across multiple accounts. I have been a part of the smithing community for years in that location, selling smithed r2h's for a nice profit on a f2p skiller. There are characters who routinely buy 80k r2h's at 38k each because they "just really like to alch."
@DM jagex isn’t even 100% sure when they identify one. I had a f2p Ironman I was playing that got permabanned, (unappealable, macroing major) because it looked like a bot and I was fishing a lot of lobster in karamja and selling it in Port Sarim to get some starter gp. Tons of people get banned for botting when they never actually do. I’m just glad it got banned after only 30 hours on the account.
I’ve actually done agility pyramid a lot on an iron, now on the group iron. And yeah some days ago I’ve been noticing these guys with only robes and a scimi. The thing is how are they doing it at lvl 46, 48. I tried at those lvls and it was super painful lmao
Bots do it 24/7 with auto eat and teleports with no downtime, that's how they do it at such a low lvl The agil pyramid is so out the way in the desert where there is little content, this means they can run longer without being reported
This is very true - has been for years. Yes, they would still have players without bots but they would lose an incredible amount of income. Abd the difference between a bot and a player in runescape is not much or that meaningful. They just need to keep a proper balance between botting / rwt and farming / legit players.
I have been using "professional" blue light filtered (with adjusted sight strenght glasses) for a while now and the difference compared to just flux is astonishing. F.lux is certainly an improvement, but no where near to these glasses.
A friend of mine uses similar glasses when working in an office with florescent lighting. It reduced the number of migraines she gets each month. But yeah, f.lux is wonderful too!

It actually makes me sick seeing bots get 99 magic and not level up any other skill. That is literally a complete embarrassment to the game. If a bot can do that and not get banned then that is evident that something needs to be done as the only way bots are being banned now is manually and botwatch doesn't do shit. If I was part of the anti cheating team I would show that to the CEO and tell them that they need to give more resources to them so they can sort this shit out.
sounds like Jagex made a breakthrough in detection of the mobile bots. The problem by its nature is difficult to manually manage. There are just too many to go over all of them by hand and still keep on top of them with any acceptable level of coverage.
What do you think of the future Duel Arena removal's potential impact on the botting scene? I'm well aware that some are doing Trust-trading Staking to avoid the new limits but I mean when the full removal happens early next year.
I started playing osrs for the first time in years recently. The amount of bots is discouraging but this video gave me some faith that we're still fighting the fight and making progress
Bots keep the economy low and make up a significant amount of subs. If there were less/no bots, all the rare drops would skyrocket in price, meaning less and less players would be interested in buying them (no bots also means less ge sales from flipping bots, raid bots and account service bots). So, those money makers you're worried about would suffer greater without the bots keeping the prices low and the demand high. Older raids are proof of this. As less and less players do TOB, the scarcity of rare drops increases make a small fraction of players increase the price of those items, and in turn less players are willing to pay those exuberant prices. If you want to see an economy absolutely destroyed from the war against bots, look at RS3.
At this point I feel all my achievements are HIGHLY devalued because botters get away with tremendous amount of killcount/xp/gp which take HUNDREDS of hours for player like me. Instead of fighting with the issues we have in the game they are doing stupid things/updates/restricted polls to push things throught and driving community apart.

Friendly programmer here, the reason mobile bots are harder to detect (atleast partly) is because phone app basically only sends action requests to jagex. Client with pc has mouse actions which are way easier to track and detect.

Yea no, that's not why. Been proven that it doesn't matter too much whether it's just actions or mouse data. There's no proof that mouse data does anything. Rspeer has kept the mouse always in the center of the client while they excited do action commands only. It had the same ban rate as a normal mouse based bot client. I could go into further detail bit I'll just leave it at that. It's for whatever reason they don't look at the mobile clients as much as the pc. Maybe it's a software limitation with their anti bot system but it doesn't have anything to do with just actions. Cause again, there's been a ton of tests with mouse data and the ban rate with mouse and do action don't seem to be that much different. There's a missing variable that we don't know about
@@Ownage4lif31 I imagine the anti cheating team spends both money and time getting ahold of scripts and running them against recorded actions of players. That being partly why customized, or personal scripts go undetected for longer.
Speaking of mobile bots ik amazon sells auto tappers for your phone, it looks like you just plug it into a usb, physically connect it to your phone then it taps. Seems to be completely undetectable

I had an eye exam last week and at the end I asked what she thought about blue light from screens and she said this. "There's not much actually science behind the whole blue light thing, a lot of the information around blue light is just there to sell gimmick products." She said that it has been proven that we blink around 60% less when focusing on a screen which is the real reason behind eye strain and other things such as headaches and itchy eyes. she didn't wright off blue light completely, she just said that not much real science has been done surrounding it. Also fun fact there are free programs out there like F.lux which do the same thing without having to wear glasses. seriously, not a hate comment. I always enjoy your videos. Well...if they didn't logout when they see a player nearby, they'd be banned more quickly. Remember the botbust streams by Jmods? Logging out maybe gives them a chance of them not knowing the name(if they weren't already confirmed to be botting prior to that stream)
It would break so many bots the first time because nothing is coded against that, but then after the first week it would be useless again, and would just piss off normal players. Exactly the same as what happened to random events, exactly the same as putting requirements like Eagles Peak behind box traps and Dragon Slayer behind the anti-shield (atleast that one makes sense though). The bots can bot literally every step of those requirements, the levels, the quests, everything. Normal players just suffer and do them every time because they aren't that slow.
If jagex would “obfuscate” their code each time they push a game update it would instantly break most bots. This wouldnt work for color detection bots but most others. It would force the bot creators to rebuild their scripts on each game update and would become very frustrating. Although that would require jagex to modernize their game engine, which is unlikely to occur.

@sirpugger you can also make a autoclicker with iPhones for osrs mobile. And its completely undetectable and works for high alchemy and teleport magic training and can be used for fletch (putting feathers on arrows or arrow heads)

I thank you Sir Pugger because your videos finally helped me quit the game and have made me lose all interest in playing at all. I have no desire in the slightest to play OSRS anymore because Jagex absolutely refuses to be transparent about the botting problem and it feels like they are doing nothing to combat the overall problem. Twitch prime has been a source of botting for years yet they still continue to have that promotion (and that’s at the very surface of the problem) I still watch your videos but man I don’t miss it one bit.
Every world I log in there’s a bot sat at the grand exchange typing growing numbers, but with 7352 in between each number. For example 109 then 7352 then 110, what’s this?
This doesn’t take any proof, few years back when mobile came out I wrote a automation framework for botting Mobil as a grad school side project. The repo was downloaded a few thousand times before I made it private
Lucky, i was instabanned first time i tried to use the app the reason was "macro" and "using 3rd party program" so I'm not using the app ever again thankfully it's is temporary (ends after the 21st of December 2021). Only thing i can think of is i got 2 mill divination xp in two days. That xp was ligitly earned through lamps, stars and protean memories (i had 30 of those treasure keys) and lamps and start from turning in wrapping paper as well using strong urns of divination and putting 8 of the 10 charged engrams into the guthix memorial having bought the energy i couldn't yet farm from the GE. The only reason that the last two engrams didn't get put in is i ran out of memory strands. Then i tried playing the guthans cache d&d for extra xp when it happened. I'm going to be honest here i can see why, partly at least, i got flagged. I had just came back to the game after an 8 year hiatus and suddenly there was a flurry of activity that seemed suspicious from a long inactive account, but honestly a short manual review of my account would show that i had done nothing wrong. I'm seriously second guessing weather or not i want to even come back to the game now. Tl:dr One really bad experience trying to use the mobile app for the first time has me adamant about not using it ever again.
Check out the bot farm at vampyres near darkmeyer. They're all like level 100-111. They stay on for about 20 kills and hop and another bot takes their place.
All the bots autolog out because everybody on the planet knows bots never get banned unless players report them. It is just simple fact, without manual entry for the bot detection to start looking at particular accounts they don't get banned. The bot detection does not flag accounts on its own because it would always pick up real accounts which is the reason people rarely ever even get picked up for autoclicking mage. Of course that is just a theory of mine. But all the evidence points towards it being true.

It’s not advance mobile bots lol. It’s called phone screen recording. It’s not against macro rules since it’s on built in phone operating software. It just records your screen taps, then you can play it and it plays your task for you and repeats. You can instantly create a screen record for any activity. Ive been doing it for 3 years
You should check out a player named "jimbosee" a level 3 with 94 slayer that has botted over 3,000 hours at varrock museum. I have hours of evidence of this player botting as well as other witnesses that can attest to this.
PVP looter bots are crazy, I thought I had a crazy good alching idea. Loot the arrows laying around and alch those. Easily 400 profit per alch, and no wait time. To my surprise a bunch of level threes were running around and picking them up. A few seemingly hacked accounts too.
You panic ditter and legqueerium are all doing the glasses add they must be paying bank, also these bots are very reliable and don’t get banned often I use one and the reason we log out is because it makes it hard for the player to report you because most of them leave.
How is the tax going to affect these bot farms, if they can invest their gold into items, because the next best thing is to put all of your gold to second most used resource in ge?
I'm sure the more advanced "mobile bots" are really just using Blue Stacks or something of the sort on PC. Anything running that good I would imagine is a script and not a bot client. Like said above I'm sure that update to the agility pyramid made it easier to script. I had only ran it once pre update but it would not have been an easy one to write beforehand.
It's probably not bluestacks though. You could bot on a real phone without bans, but bluestacks would result in bans. At least that's what the dude who was using multiple phones to bot told me.
Seen rank 6 zalcano while doing zalcano yesterday. Was a bot. More than half of the top 500 in zalcano are bots. I seen them everyday. They crash 4 man teams and if the team leaves the room then so do they and they hop. If the people don’t leave the room then that bot will farm zalcano with them for hours and hours and then hop.
I bet Jagex is riding such a fine line as to not make to too deterring to bot cause they look at the money they make from the bots being members. I would love an estimate monthly what they could make off bots. How to be comfortable shooting yourself in the foot.
if you assume its just mobile bots not getting caught youre wrong, whenever i need a skill requirements on osrs i just bot it while im at work, my account is over 10 years old with 2 bans and they were only temp, I botted ALL of my skills on oldschool. premium bot scripts are the way to go, literally plays like a human would. The only reason these bots are being banned is because other players are investigating it, do you think Jagex are investigating this on a daily basis? if they are theyre doing a terrible job, I wouldn't be surprised if someone high up within jagex owns some of these bot farms, YEARS ago i remember seeing bot farms like the thieving one in the high level wildy chest area, what i noticed is some bot farms will be banned while others mysterious allowed to just exist there, i put it down to shady practices within the company.
I don’t play anymore but it’s really demoralizing to see how many people ruin the economy of the game with bots. In some ways the game depends on it (bringing in a huge amount of resources) but why grind for 1M an hour when people have massive bot farms producing tons of GP and treat the game as a source of real life money, disrespecting the economy of the game? These same people could buy hundreds of hours of grinding with 50-100$.

I know someone who makes mobile scripts and has been selling mining accounts for a few years now. Hes been using xbox elite controllers to run the bots on his phone.

So, instead of blue tinted glasses, you can use nightlight mode(standard on windows) at like 70% to tint the screen orange giving same effect.

@DM jagex isn’t even 100% sure when they identify one. I had a f2p Ironman I was playing that got permabanned, (unappealable, macroing major) because it looked like a bot and I was fishing a lot of lobster in karamja and selling it in Port Sarim to get some starter gp. Tons of people get banned for botting when they never actually do. I’m just glad it got banned after only 30 hours on the account.

This is very true - has been for years. Yes, they would still have players without bots but they would lose an incredible amount of income. Abd the difference between a bot and a player in runescape is not much or that meaningful. They just need to keep a proper balance between botting / rwt and farming / legit players.
if you dont want to buy overpriced plastic, use the flux software to adjust screen brightness. glasses are just filters and scratch easy.

I have been using "professional" blue light filtered (with adjusted sight strenght glasses) for a while now and the difference compared to just flux is astonishing. F.lux is certainly an improvement, but no where near to these glasses.
A friend of mine uses similar glasses when working in an office with florescent lighting. It reduced the number of migraines she gets each month.

It actually makes me sick seeing bots get 99 magic and not level up any other skill. That is literally a complete embarrassment to the game. If a bot can do that and not get banned then that is evident that something needs to be done as the only way bots are being banned now is manually and botwatch doesn't do shit.
If I was part of the anti cheating team I would show that to the CEO and tell them that they need to give more resources to them so they can sort this shit out.

sounds like Jagex made a breakthrough in detection of the mobile bots. The problem by its nature is difficult to manually manage. There are just too many to go over all of them by hand and still keep on top of them with any acceptable level of coverage.

Bots keep the economy low and make up a significant amount of subs. If there were less/no bots, all the rare drops would skyrocket in price, meaning less and less players would be interested in buying them (no bots also means less ge sales from flipping bots, raid bots and account service bots). So, those money makers you're worried about would suffer greater without the bots keeping the prices low and the demand high. Older raids are proof of this. As less and less players do TOB, the scarcity of rare drops increases make a small fraction of players increase the price of those items, and in turn less players are willing to pay those exuberant prices. If you want to see an economy absolutely destroyed from the war against bots, look at RS3.

At this point I feel all my achievements are HIGHLY devalued because botters get away with tremendous amount of killcount/xp/gp which take HUNDREDS of hours for player like me. Instead of fighting with the issues we have in the game they are doing stupid things/updates/restricted polls to push things throught and driving community apart.

Friendly programmer here, the reason mobile bots are harder to detect (atleast partly) is because phone app basically only sends action requests to jagex. Client with pc has mouse actions which are way easier to track and detect.

Yea no, that's not why. Been proven that it doesn't matter too much whether it's just actions or mouse data. There's no proof that mouse data does anything.
Rspeer has kept the mouse always in the center of the client while they excited do action commands only. It had the same ban rate as a normal mouse based bot client.
I could go into further detail bit I'll just leave it at that. It's for whatever reason they don't look at the mobile clients as much as the pc. Maybe it's a software limitation with their anti bot system but it doesn't have anything to do with just actions. Cause again, there's been a ton of tests with mouse data and the ban rate with mouse and do action don't seem to be that much different. There's a missing variable that we don't know about
@@Ownage4lif31 I imagine the anti cheating team spends both money and time getting ahold of scripts and running them against recorded actions of players. That being partly why customized, or personal scripts go undetected for longer.
Speaking of mobile bots ik amazon sells auto tappers for your phone, it looks like you just plug it into a usb, physically connect it to your phone then it taps. Seems to be completely undetectable

@sirpugger I've seen a lot of people trading eachother in the lumbridge general store a few days ago, and I think they might be RWT. They trade random players and the person who seems to be starting the trade usually has full karils armor on
I had an eye exam last week and at the end I asked what she thought about blue light from screens and she said this. "There's not much actually science behind the whole blue light thing, a lot of the information around blue light is just there to sell gimmick products." She said that it has been proven that we blink around 60% less when focusing on a screen which is the real reason behind eye strain and other things such as headaches and itchy eyes. she didn't wright off blue light completely, she just said that not much real science has been done surrounding it.

Only a idiot would hardcode worlds in the scripts (appaerently the lms scripts)
It would break so many bots the first time because nothing is coded against that, but then after the first week it would be useless again, and would just piss off normal players.
Exactly the same as what happened to random events, exactly the same as putting requirements like Eagles Peak behind box traps and Dragon Slayer behind the anti-shield (atleast that one makes sense though).
The bots can bot literally every step of those requirements, the levels, the quests, everything.
Normal players just suffer and do them every time because they aren't that slow.
If jagex would “obfuscate” their code each time they push a game update it would instantly break most bots. This wouldnt work for color detection bots but most others. It would force the bot creators to rebuild their scripts on each game update and would become very frustrating. Although that would require jagex to modernize their game engine, which is unlikely to occur.

@sirpugger you can also make a autoclicker with iPhones for osrs mobile. And its completely undetectable and works for high alchemy and teleport magic training and can be used for fletch (putting feathers on arrows or arrow heads)

I have no desire in the slightest to play OSRS anymore because Jagex absolutely refuses to be transparent about the botting problem and it feels like they are doing nothing to combat the overall problem. Twitch prime has been a source of botting for years yet they still continue to have that promotion (and that’s at the very surface of the problem)

This doesn’t take any proof, few years back when mobile came out I wrote a automation framework for botting Mobil as a grad school side project. The repo was downloaded a few thousand times before I made it private

When I play I act like a bot so I think that’s a good sign if they have improved their detection algorithm and I haven’t been falsely banned.
Lucky, i was instabanned first time i tried to use the app the reason was "macro" and "using 3rd party program" so I'm not using the app ever again thankfully it's is temporary (ends after the 21st of December 2021). Only thing i can think of is i got 2 mill divination xp in two days. That xp was ligitly earned through lamps, stars and protean memories (i had 30 of those treasure keys) and lamps and start from turning in wrapping paper as well using strong urns of divination and putting 8 of the 10 charged engrams into the guthix memorial having bought the energy i couldn't yet farm from the GE. The only reason that the last two engrams didn't get put in is i ran out of memory strands. Then i tried playing the guthans cache d&d for extra xp when it happened. I'm going to be honest here i can see why, partly at least, i got flagged. I had just came back to the game after an 8 year hiatus and suddenly there was a flurry of activity that seemed suspicious from a long inactive account, but honestly a short manual review of my account would show that i had done nothing wrong. I'm seriously second guessing weather or not i want to even come back to the game now.
Tl:dr
One really bad experience trying to use the mobile app for the first time has me adamant about not using it ever again.

Check out the bot farm at vampyres near darkmeyer. They're all like level 100-111. They stay on for about 20 kills and hop and another bot takes their place.
All the bots autolog out because everybody on the planet knows bots never get banned unless players report them. It is just simple fact, without manual entry for the bot detection to start looking at particular accounts they don't get banned. The bot detection does not flag accounts on its own because it would always pick up real accounts which is the reason people rarely ever even get picked up for autoclicking mage.
Of course that is just a theory of mine. But all the evidence points towards it being true.

It’s not advance mobile bots lol. It’s called phone screen recording. It’s not against macro rules since it’s on built in phone operating software. It just records your screen taps, then you can play it and it plays your task for you and repeats. You can instantly create a screen record for any activity. Ive been doing it for 3 years

You should check out a player named "jimbosee" a level 3 with 94 slayer that has botted over 3,000 hours at varrock museum. I have hours of evidence of this player botting as well as other witnesses that can attest to this.

PVP looter bots are crazy, I thought I had a crazy good alching idea. Loot the arrows laying around and alch those. Easily 400 profit per alch, and no wait time. To my surprise a bunch of level threes were running around and picking them up. A few seemingly hacked accounts too.
You panic ditter and legqueerium are all doing the glasses add they must be paying bank, also these bots are very reliable and don’t get banned often I use one and the reason we log out is because it makes it hard for the player to report you because most of them leave.

I'm sure the more advanced "mobile bots" are really just using Blue Stacks or something of the sort on PC. Anything running that good I would imagine is a script and not a bot client. Like said above I'm sure that update to the agility pyramid made it easier to script. I had only ran it once pre update but it would not have been an easy one to write beforehand.
It's probably not bluestacks though. You could bot on a real phone without bans, but bluestacks would result in bans. At least that's what the dude who was using multiple phones to bot told me.

Seen rank 6 zalcano while doing zalcano yesterday. Was a bot. More than half of the top 500 in zalcano are bots. I seen them everyday. They crash 4 man teams and if the team leaves the room then so do they and they hop. If the people don’t leave the room then that bot will farm zalcano with them for hours and hours and then hop.

if you assume its just mobile bots not getting caught youre wrong, whenever i need a skill requirements on osrs i just bot it while im at work, my account is over 10 years old with 2 bans and they were only temp, I botted ALL of my skills on oldschool. premium bot scripts are the way to go, literally plays like a human would. The only reason these bots are being banned is because other players are investigating it, do you think Jagex are investigating this on a daily basis? if they are theyre doing a terrible job, I wouldn't be surprised if someone high up within jagex owns some of these bot farms, YEARS ago i remember seeing bot farms like the thieving one in the high level wildy chest area, what i noticed is some bot farms will be banned while others mysterious allowed to just exist there, i put it down to shady practices within the company.

I don’t play anymore but it’s really demoralizing to see how many people ruin the economy of the game with bots. In some ways the game depends on it (bringing in a huge amount of resources) but why grind for 1M an hour when people have massive bot farms producing tons of GP and treat the game as a source of real life money, disrespecting the economy of the game? These same people could buy hundreds of hours of grinding with 50-100$.
