I think it’s a crime how in a 30k work truck Colorado you get the new digital interior but you have to step up to the LT in the Silverado range to get it. Just really dumb in my opinion.
Colorado cost considerably less to manufacture is my guess.
I would rather not have the digital dash.
I’m using a rental 2.7 because my 22 with the 5.3 broke. The power is quite surprising for it being a 4 cyl. It gets up and moves quick!
Ok. You lured me in with the annual salary line.
80k a year and I feel like I’m doomed to driving 5-10k vehicles for rest of my life at 30.
Oh and taking home -30% of that
I'm with you! I'm not spending that kind of money on a truck , Especially one that has a turbo charger on a gasoline engine!
lol just keep your money at this point
Doomed? You are smart. A 3- to 5-year-old vehicle is your best buy.
50k for a 2.7 engine????? We are doomed.
Beautiful Truck
Hard to believe they didn’t put the new interior in the customs smh
lol 2023 with 4 cylinder just more expensive,,,, this is nuts
@@metals305got one for 37k
That interior was always an awful design
My 23 custom with 6k miles for 37k looking like a steal rn because they didn’t change the interior that’s what I was scared of when I bought mine
Hi Ben, you should do a side by side comparison of your three favorite vehicles at different price points....$30k, $40k, $50k, $60k, etc.
How much chicken feed can this really carry? It may be a decent 4 cylinder but not in a full size.
If the 3.0L Duramax was available in a base trim like this i’d buy it.
Go with the LT I have the 2022 all star edition it has many luxurious stuff whilst not all the crazy fancy expensive stuff mine cost me 49k and super gas economy with the diesel engine. I love the duramax engine I will buy the ZR2 duramax though because I plan off-roading and love how aggressive 1500 and 2500 ZR2 duramax look.
@folly-1765 The Trail Boss in the custom package has the 3.0 duramax option (MSRP~$56k)
I love the Silverado, Ben!

If I've got 50 grand to drop on a truck, it's definitely not gonna be a base model 4-banger. I'd go back a few years and get a nicely-equipped pre-owned for that much.
Unfortunately, the new trucks with the Duramax and the 5.3L are all around $55,000+.
Why would spend $52000.00 for a 4 cylinder when you can get a ram tradesman with a crew cab and a 6.4 bed and a hemi v8 for $47000.00.
Exactly what I was thinking, plus a way more reliable set up long term.
Seriously, a RAM😆😆😆😆
@@touchdown4951 yeah a ram. You can stick with your weak Chevy 4banger for 52k. Seriously nobody buys these, nobody.
@@mikeburton8166 Ford yeah, but a RAM yeah😆😆😆😆
@@touchdown4951 anyone with half a brain would take a ram over this beast of a 4 cylinder 🤣🤣 let’s be real.
It's a good looking truck and doesn't look like a work truck. It's great that Chevy has the power seats on the custom trim as the manual seat WT isn't height adjustable. I'm not a fan of the powertrain. The previous 4.3L V6 was a good base engine but didn't have the numbers of this turbo 4.
I configured a 24 silverado wt it came to the same price as the custom.
Red looks good. Missing low range but has 4A mode.
At this point the info screen looks like a gotdamn calculator compared to the other trucks out here.
The bad part I ordered the 2024 Chevy 1500 Silverado Duramax (Blackout) they said its been ready for a few weeks. I ordered it July 26th. Buttt there are no workers to load it on a rail car. 😬
Man that much put the new steering in and they can put the new screen in !
I swear this cars for this much better last at least for 20 30 years
2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Custom 2.7L TurboMax 4-Cylinder 8-Speed Automatic Crew Cab 4X4!
Hate to say this but that truck sounds like a lawn mower.
Just bought this for 36,000 yesterday with GM incentives with a 5year bumper to bumper 100,000 mile factory warranty and 3year 60,000 powertrain
$15k below sticker price??
Ben, can you please test the stereo next time? It'd be helpful in the truck search.
I have a 2022 Custom, and I think it's excellent! The sound is really good.
My '23 Sierra has the new interior. The digital screens are really nice, but there are a lot of bugs in the Google system. I had to take mine to the dealer after factory resetting it a few times because there was a bug that caused the audio system to completely mute all of the sounds (all sources of audio, turn signal sounds, phone/bluetooth sounds, Hey Google/Siri, etc). They had to do a hard reset which took about 2 hours. As long as it continues to work, it is a good system. The speakers sound decent (I don't have the Bose system).
If i had 50k to spend on a new truck I wouldn't buy a Chevy. I'd get a Ford or a Ram. I want my truck to last at least 100k miles and not have transmissions problems.
The prices are very outrageous but what do you expect for this day and time
Nice

Wouldn’t a fuel injected v6 get the same or better gas mileage?
$52k for a base truck, insane!
I was wondering what does $60,000 buy you in Chevys heavy duty segment
It certainly looks like about a $40k truck to me. Unfortunately, inflation is no joke.
You can get a single cab dually
It’s a better value to but a 2500 HD with a 6.6 but the gas mileage is 10-15mpg
LT 2500 gas is around 60k with some conv pkgs
I bought a 23 high country 2500 HD for 65k in April..... the LT I wanted was like 62k so for few more it was worth it
Hey Ben I am a new viewer on the channel. My name is Tyler and I like cars and trucks. Can you do a review on the new Ford expedition King Ranch SUV 2024? Please that will be great. Chevy has the best selling trucks on earth. I think I will buy the Chevy Silverado high country 2500 HD. Can you make the video tomorrow I would love to see one on your channel thank you Ben for these videos I love it ❤️
I have a review posted on that
@@BenHardyCars Thanks for the car review videos on UA-cam man I love it ❤️
Haaa haaa haaaa! 2.7 liter 4 cylinder in a full size truck. I will pass.
Ty for sharing this one... honestly this is a good package, that red is a refresh considering 99% of the onlots I see are white, black or a shade of gray ... and ya if you drive this motor does move decent for a base trim level ... my only gripes are the auto start/ stop and the fact this motor is for 91. oct. fuel ...
Owner's manual says 87 is recommended for the 2.7 and 5.3 engines. 91 is only recommended for the 6.2
I saw a video of the engineer of this engine and he said 87 octane. Several other people say the same thing
o wow thx for correction then ... lol that's so weird cause every dealer I spoke with said 87 is ok but if you want full power it needs 91 oct.
@@PKDesigns2011 I put 92 octane in my 23’ Silverado and didn’t notice a difference in power. I did notice my fuel mileage went down from 22.7 to 18.9.
I have a 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 4×4 lt
And?

@@SuperTipsLLCs35 🤷♂️
The 1999-2007 Classic were the best trucks GM has ever made. The pre 2007 non AFM engines were bulletproof. Everything after is junk or will be sooner or later.
I remember when Chevy trucks were a good reliable truck.
ua-cam.com/video/_K_7GLeiExA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
2023 models are like this are $8000 dollars off currently in my area.
Yep. I’m in Southern California and these refreshed Customs are going for around $42k
Nobody wants the 2.7. Chevy needs to give those same discounts to the v8s.
50??? You can find 2024 customs in my area for 38!!
Wouldn’t a fuel injected V6 get the same or better gas mileage?
This engine was designed for ultra low emissions . That’s it that’s all.
@@ML-lg4ky
Ok….. but wouldn’t a fuel injected v6 do better on gas mileage….. hence more miles per gallon, and less gas burned
@@lordrayden3045 It might do better, considering that the V8 gets about the same mileage anyway. But of course, they don't sell a V6 anymore.
@@nathanahubbard1975 it was to reliable 🤣
This pulls better than a v6
Cold crank sounded like an old VW beetle. No thanks.
Get an LT for cpl grand more
I think you've reviewed about how many CUSTOM's at this point? Different colors? LOL
If I only made $50k, I wouldn’t be driving a truck lol
Do you think that engine will last 10 years.
No
Yes if you don't use it ever, just push the truck to wherever you need to go and then back again. Oh doing this will save you tons of money because you won't be buying fuel, but you will spend money for good shoes or boots to help with the pushing. Good Luck.
Better question is who keeps vehicles for 10years
What do you get for $50K? Not much!
Looks like a great deal, bravo Chevrolet, bravo !!!
A good deal?.....for this?.....😮🤷♂️
Yes, go get a ford or dodge then, you'll learn.
@@jeffreyhouston2043you can get a new 2023 Ram Laramie loaded with leather 12 inch screen v8..etc etc for the same price. People who think this is a great deal are just uneducated in the car buying industry. No one, I mean no one should buy this truck at 52k. That’s absolutely laughable.
@@jeffreyhouston2043 They all have their pros and cons, but trucks are overpriced, that fact is known and it's people like you that keep them that way because you let daddy auto industry set the price and you just sign the loans.
If you haven't noticed, everything is going up. Pay attention !!!
The tailpipe sound is absurd.
FJB
That is a $30k truck all day. I’m not a big government guy but at this point if the manufacturers want to try and charge these prices maybe the government should file an antitrust lawsuit
ua-cam.com/video/_K_7GLeiExA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Ok lol? This is the market. Why are you talking about irrelevant prices of 15 years ago.
No no, that’s a $30k truck in today’s market. I can go get a brand new LTZ, with the new interior and leather seats for $44k. That stripped down base model truck with a 4 cylinder, plastic everywhere inside, and left over dash layout from the previous gen is a $30K truck all day.
This truck worth 30k brand new imo. sadly now we have to pay 40-45k for this
it's a great looking truck, but, a 4 banger in a full size truck??? Not for me!
That interior in a 2024 is embarrassing
No Thanks chevy, Thanks for pricing me out of the truck market, especially for A work truck!! I'm buying a nissan!
It seams cave man like
You can literally go buy a new 2023 Ram Laramie loaded with leather, 12inch infotainment, v8 etc…for the same price. People need to actually look at what’s out there and the pricing. Anyone who actually spends 52k on this truck has no clue what’s happening or going on.
In my area a ram big horn sells for 59k and the Laramie is around 70k! I’d like to know where you see those prices you mentioned
@@juanbarajas5376he doesn’t cause I don’t see that either
Or they have the money and don’t care
Ben talks a little too fast. Slow it down Buddy.
Using the name Custom on this thing is pointless. Just remove it this thing is a base.
This truck is trash! I bought a 23 tundra TRD off road for 50k
SR5 but it’s still more than 50k, you talking used?
That's cheap! and I don't mean the price!
Fixed glass is bs
So not worth it.
For 50k ....you could have bought a dully in 2007...for base price, they need to come to their senses or they'll rot on the lots. 34k max for that...old interior, enough with this pre-plandemic stupid prices
