- Clarinets, anyone? Barney Bigard, Bob WIlber, Kenny Davern, Eddie Daniels, clarinet; Dick Hyman, piano; Jack Sewing, string bass; J.C. Heard, drums. BYE BYE BLUES / MOONGLOW / TAKE THE "A" TRAIN // Grande Parade du Jazz, July 15, 1977. Presented by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (www.jazzlives.wordpress.com).
Clarinet is a difficult woodwind, but these guys are 'killin it'! Thank you!
Bob Wilber is here incredible....
First solo: my favorite Bob Wilber. R.I.P.
Wilber studied, transcribed and performed that style of jazz. He was excellent!
Wooooooooow Eddie the king
Unbelievable array of clarinet talent, with the incredible Dick Hyman on piano.
great find Michael. About 8 years before I discovered this great music. My dad was already going to concerts and festivals like this. A real treat to see Barney Bigard playing with his successors.
Kenny Davern - formidable conception, technique & execution.
They're all great, but Kenny Davern really shines here!!!
Remember Tony Coe well from the Dankworth band.
Effervescent!!! like the sound of Barney´s Albert system!
Grandes Wilber y Davern!
Barney aún tiene la solera y nobleza de antaño, mientras que los dos clarinetistas restantes aún tienen las limitaciones de la juventud.
My friend Swingyoucats! Here Juan! A pleasure to follow you again from another account. The clarinet player from Barcelona! See you my friend!
A gem!
True Master.
A clarinet summit.
