Yesterday, I was geeking out on the song "Could It Be Magic" originally by Barry Manilow. so I decided to look for other versions of the song and stumbled onto this one. Wow! I was just blown away by this cover. I kept asking myself, how did this group not make it big in America? There could have been a second British invasion with these guys, but according to one news story I read, they were actively courted by US recording industry executives and the execs were blown off. One of the band members simply said they couldn't be bothered. But didn't seem to hurt their fame and careers in any way did it? I think those of us living in the USA tend to think that we are the epicenter of the music biz but we really do miss out on great music that is popular all over the world except for the US. We wind up finding the bands decades later! Oh well, I know I'm pushing 60 and I'm about 30 years late to the party, but I'm still enjoying the music of Take That just the same.
