- I have never used a Mac in my life - I'm a lifetime PC user. This was a very interesting experience, I've got to say I thought I would be more frustrated using a Mac, but I may like it more than I thought...

I am a PC user, and i started to use macbook. this is reaaaaally hard to switch my habits. And i think macos is not user friendly :) Windows is better. But macbook is an amazing device, amazing quality :)
I agree with you, the mac device just doesnt make sense 😂. Definitely an amazing machine which has a steep learning curve
I also didn't mention: The macbook Air has an amazing battery life - even 3 years old. It lasts almost 2-3 times longer than my surface pro. Overall loved the device

I went from MAC to Windows. Love W11 so far...windows management is top notch. Wish the hardware is as nice as the Mac.
Funnily enough I much prefer how macOS handles full screen and multitasking. Having multiple desktops and windows feels much more natural to me
That's very interesting, i must be doing things wrong. I couldn't stand multi-tasking on macOS
@@MattTran98 multiple desktops is the answer there you can have each thing you are working on with all apps and files relevant open on each desktop. I personally live using the swipe gestures over keyboard commands I think this is a fundamental difference between windows and Mac OS where windows is better without a trackpad but I would buy a trackpad for a desktop Mac.
Most people will either be Mac or PC. Both systems are fantastic but swapping between them is a pain in the arse.
Tries a MacBook. Proceeds to install utilities to make it similar to Windows.

I could never switch to a MacBook due to my many years of using a PC. I can acknowledge the pros of them for digital arts (front-end website development, UX/UI, video editing, and photography). However, the pros of PCs are too much for me to leave. Examples: Keyboard shortcuts, layout, gaming, Linux, and Excel/Word/Power BI advance features are too great.
With that stated, MacBooks make better quality UA-cam videos on average. Maybe the Asus Pro Art is the runner up at best.
Did you choose the 2019 model over the M1 ones or was this an old device you owned but never used
This was an old device a friend owned and i borrowed it when my laptop broke - decided to make a video on it

During my time I didn't find a single use for the control button or the function button, where most of the command shortcuts were with the command button. I personally think if they don't use the control button, just don't include it at all.
I was just complaining as i kept pressing control instead of command to do things and it was a bit bothersome. What else did you expect from a lifetime PC user?
@@MattTran98 I have used both. MacOS is based on unix, and all unix system have a thing called terminal. Terminal is the main reason I use Mac now, I am a developer. 🥸Ctrl-C is like the God of terminal unix commands. Ctrl is also used in MacOS crazy keyboard shortcuts. But it wasn't a fanboy rant, it's a legit question. When Mac users use windows, I don't see them complaining have as much. They understand that is "windows" learn it and just deal with it. BTW having different spaces for your programs is a very powerful feature, saves you from always having to have a second screen. (All unix systems have this also). You are so young, keep an open mind. In Rome, do as the Romans do. This applies to mac and windows. You will have a much better experience.
@@nyambe Hey thanks for the reply! That makes sense for a programmer, which I am not. In my video I did say that they obviously have a purpose, but as a non-programmer I don't see a use for it at all. Thanks for your insight! Didn't know it had a big use in programming.
No need to call me young, I have an open mind. Which is why I gave the mac a shot. This is just my first 7 days of using the device - obviously there will be some lack of knowledge regarding the user experience.

@@MattTran98 well, that’s kinda joke. Even my Intel MacBook Pro would stays around 5 hours of my usage before it dies, and my M1 MacBook Pro even better, that I never carry my charger whenever I go to work. 😌
But, I still ofc use my windows PC to play some games on steam😌

I've use 'only' Windows computers since 1986 {36yrs-!!!; & I'm 73yrs old-!!!} and I purchased a M1 MacBook Air only in Dec. 2021, and made {re: "making, 🧗♀" ] this transition. ~ "Poor is the Workman who Blames his Tools", ...it is not that the MacBook or its MacOS which is difficult, as it is "your comfort-level", as you, yourself, said: Muscle-Memory. Good Luck - with your young age, you'll accomplish this "bump in the road" much easier than me.
